JFK Medical Center - North Campus, West Palm Beach FL

This medical center is an absolute joke! If you have a loved one, do NOT send them here. My dad has been transferred for 2 months now here and another hospital because they can't figure out what is wrong with his heart and why he has so much water weight gain. He has now come back after a heart catherization (when he was released 5 days again stating everything was fine) and is now bleeding internally. When he got there for the 3rd time, the forgot to do a second blood transfusion and didn't even test him to see if he was bleeding internally until the next morning. (When they had orders to check right away.)

Also, the last time he was there about a month ago he had his phone stolen by the staff when they were changing his bed. This time the staff came in this morning to change his bed and told him to give them his phone, my father said "no, nobody is touching my phone! "

This place is absolutely disgusting and something NEEDS to be done about them! They're doing more damage to my father then helping him.

Trash, trash, trash. Absolutely the worst hospital anyone could go to. I would rate it in the negatives if I could. The doctors get paid to do absolutely nothing and they don’t even care about their patients. Go spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Just an overall bad experience. Nurses and doctors standing arpund doing nothing while patients waited for their procedure.

Was schedule for a simple Endo at 11, had to do the paper work over again because nurses couldn't find what they find their records. Then the anesthesiologist asked the same 20 questions again.

Finally l, hook up and waiting for the doctor, 3 hours later 5 nurses just standing around talking doing nothing.

Just a horrible experience. Avoid this place if you can, you will probably end up dying just from the wait and the incompetence of everyone you talk to there.

I came in with my father that dr.spencer (in the E. R) was beyond rude and talked to me and my father like we were dumb and his whole attitude was as if we were bothering him when we came in.the nurses were nice. I will be calling the corporate.if your dying chose another hospital.because customer service sucks here.yall deserve no stars.

Great medical service they didnt take long to get me a bed in the ICU and the nurses and doctors were very caring and empathetic as i was scared of getting surgery as they comforted me.

The most horrible, unorganized, unfriendly staff who know absolutely nothing about emergency treatment. My friend was literally laying in the street outside the ER door, he couldn’t stand up, could not walk needed immediate help and absolutely no one would help us. They gave me a wheelchair for him to climb into. If I had someone off the street help me get him back into my car and took him to Palm Beach Gardens where he needed immediate help. Thanks for nothing but wasting my time. A person could die in the waiting. If you even need just a Band-Aid don’t bother going here, as you will get no help. Worst experience ever in an emergency situation

The doctors that treated me were wonderful. The majority of the nurses that took care of me were exceptional. But it only takes a couple of really bad nurses to leave a bad taste in my mouth to the care I received after cancer surgery. I personally will never return to that hospital until they get rid of the nurses that should not be taking care of really sick people like myself! You need to do a rehaul and take these comments seriously.

This hospital is AWEFUL! My almost 92 year old Father N' Law, who lives with us on The West Coast had a heart attack on his way to a Cuise Ship leaving out of Ft. Lauderdale 13 Days ago. Long story short, he had to have 3 Stents put in and then develooed numonia, and my wife who is his primary Care taker requested multiple times to have a doctor call her. NO CALL! How can a doctor at this hospital not call this man's daughter? UNBELIEVABLE! The care he received was not much better, as my wife spoke to her dad a few times each day.
Then the.last few days as he was scheduled to be transported, became a fiasco! The Social worker, who we thought was good and working for him, ended up being a liar and did what was easiest for her. Thank God for Sarasota Memorial Rehab and Jessica who finally became involved late this afternoon as she rembered him from a few YEARS AGO and he is being transported in a little while! VERY SAD JFK!

This is by far the worst hospital and experience. My dad suffered a mini stroke. We rushed to the hospital to see him. While going thru er the metal detectors threw us off. What also threw us off was the security played for a half an hour on his phone and every two mins was using the toilet which is concerning its a small room you can hear the toilets flush he was not using the toilet. My sister had to call the hospital to see why er hasnt let us thru yet that was 45 mins waiting. They only let me thru, we waited another hour to see why my fiance was allowed back. I asked 3 medical staff personell no answers. So my sister had to call back a 2nd time. It's not like he showed up after me we came together. The other concerning part was my dad had to use the bathroom we timed the nurses took them an hour and fifteen mins to come to his room to give him a portable urinal to pee in. There were a few nurses not doing anything we asked during this and were told his nurse will be in a minute. How hard is it to grab one and hand it to him? The other concerning part is they are trying to prevent him from having a major stroke and none of his bedside rails were up so had he had one he could've fallen and got injured. They only put the rails up when they were admitting him to the 3rd floor. The disgusting part is when the rails went up they were covered in blood that wasn't his. I took pictures of it and plan to post it. You're better off dying than going to this disgusting institution. We could also feel racism towards us as we were the only white people in the hospital. And being In medical care my self the tests they are doing right now on him currently shouldve been done in er last night as strokes can be deadly.

I’ve been to this hospital 3times and trust me it’s horrible! The staff/doctors suck and are aholes dr posada needs to be fired ASAP he’s a major duche bag I’ll taze him in his go nads if I ever see him outside the hospital, the food is nasty, they’re we’re days where we would litterally do NOTHING. We would sit in a chair and watch movies all day and sleep, with no group activity’s or anything. Also one staff guy got in my face and yelled at me over Something small. These people need someone to tell them how to do their job seriously it’s ridiculous.

I tried to call their billing office for over a week could not get a live person their phone say it it transferring you but hangs up on after 15 minutes

My experience here was horrible. I'm a Sickle Cell patient and I went there because I was having pain, they made it seem as if I was only there for drugs one of the lead nurses on the orthopedic floor even stated that I was trying to keep their needle to take it home and shoot up. I would not recommend anyone go here, one of the nurses in the ER also stated they had 3 people die in the waiting area due to lack of treatment in a timely manner

For one, they couldn't find my fiancé. They said that he wasn't in that hospital. But I knew he was because it was a transfer. I was there for 24 mins before they found him, and Some of the nurses was very rude.

I had a bad experience with one staff member, went to the front to make a complaint and the person who was supposed to be taking the complaint then began to argue with me that "They know that staff member, & that I was LYING" SMH you can't make a complaint to a person who's friends with the one you complain about! I HAVE STILL NOT HEARD BACK FROM LAURA HUMPHREYS THE ETHICS & compliance OFFICER. I've called multiple times & left multiple messages

I found that most of the staff we're completely un professional. It took them 6 out of the 7 hours my mother was in agony to effectively treat her pain and for the most part acted like they were being put upon to do anything to help. I overheard one of them state what is she whining about now! I went to them 4 times in 7 hours and they consider that whining. Ps in the entire time the only had maybe 12 people come through their unit. There was an exception the nurse who was treating my mom and the woman next to her went out of her way to help but was hampered by the incompetence of the others. (what kind of staff would continue to talk to someone they knew was deaf and could not lip read? The nurse who was helping my mom was the only one who had the sense to write her questions to the unfortunate woman. How do I know the doctor in charge has a luxury boat? Because sitting at least 20 feet away I could hear him bragging about it while he was hanging out in the nurses station while I waited for them to do something to stop the pain my mom was in. They either don't know or don't care that that hospitals are designed so that the staff at the nurses station can hear everything that's going on in the entire unit and that works both ways, so for 7 hours with them knowing I was there I was hearing everything they were saying. They only started moving with intent when they realized I heard the What's she whineing about know comment. If I was hit by a car on their front steps I would demand to be taken to another hospital. Later that evening after she was admitted it took 4 times to get to the nurses station. The fist time I got the room number wrong that was on me. The next time the phone just kept ringing the time after that someone just took the phone off the hook and left it. I could hear people having a conversation as I repeatedly said hello. The 4 th time I was able to get through and got the nurse that was taking care of my mom she was very helpful and very nice. I complement her and the nurse in the ER. But for the rest of the place the only reason I gave the place a 1 star rating was to be able to put this on their space. I am 67 years old my mother is 86 years old. I can't beleave how they acted and not to just her the deaf lady was in her 80s also. I am also going to send a copy of this to my lawyer to keep on file. I am not a latigus person but if anything else happens I may change my mind. That is my opinion on this hospital

This is the worst hospital that I have ever dealt with. The security guard at the entrance doesn't speak English and asked for my ID three times. The doctors were unavailable for long periods of time, they took forever to issue discharge papers. When they said that they would call hospice, they took two days to do it. Stay away from these guys if you care about the health of yourself or loved ones.

I use the service from the hospital every time I have a family emergency and I am very satisfied and happy with the way they take care of every situation we have, there should be more hospitals like this

Worse place ever! They forgot about us and everything they have bad staff! I wouldn't recommend this hospital too anyone

Wish I could've given negative stars! I visited the ER for my wife. Humiliating horrible experience and the ER nurse Vicky, I never see bad stuff like that

My wife had a bad abdominal pain, the most nurses staff is so nice talking but no service. One of them stopped the IV saline all that night because it's noisey so she don't have to worry about changing it, and the morning nurse blamed her over that.
