Metro Diner reviews
38Super yummy. Big portions. Patio allows dogs. Friendly service. Moderate diner prices, with HUGE portions.
Had an omelet and grits they were very tasty. My daughters had the biscuits and gravy, pancakes and sausage the two of them also shared a chicken biscuit All said to be delicious. We give it an A+
Had the chicken and waffles they were outstanding. Chicken was so full of flavor. The wait staff was nice and courteous.
Fun night with family enjoying dinner in a casual and fun atmosphere. College students, couples, families and retired folks all eating together. Wait staff was attentive and helpful. Prices very reasonable. Some of my family enjoyed breakfast items, some burgers, some chicken and I had a chicken salad salad. Great place in Gainesville for good food and enjoyable atmosphere.
It was good. I wanted a lot of things on the menu but 2000 calories or so for a breakfast was a little too much to go nuts on the menu.
Everyone at my table liked what they had. Everyone else got larger meals and all of them fell asleep in the car on the way home (5 hour drive).
The French toast was a highlight of what others got. I'd go again. Just not on my last morning there with a drive after.
Great little spot. Very busy, but good food and fast service. I do a Monday morning meeting there every other week.
My daughter had been raving about this place, so I was excited to go. There was a wait, even for lunch on a weekday, but it was well worth it! I got a chicken sandwich, and my son got the chicken parmesan sandwich. Both were huge, fresh, and delicious! We will definitely be back!
There's always a long waiting time in the morning, but the food is good, portions are big and the service is great.
Food was good for the most part but service is slow. It took about 8 minutes before the waitress came to even take initial drink orders. I got the eggs Benedict which was excellent and the other diner with me got avocado toast - also very yummy. Only giving 4 stars due to slow service and the hash browns I got. There was a generous portion of hash browns but about 75% of it was not edible because they weren't really cooked. More like a plate of raw limp potato.
Been here many times and not just this location. The original also. They can get busy during fall/spring semesters but just slightly busy during the summer. I say go and try everything. Fried chicken and waffles very good. Pot pie a lot of food. Breakfast really good. Go and try it.
One of my go-to and favorite breakfast places in Gainesville. Location is super easy to get to and there's always plenty of parking. The staff is extremely nice, the place is always clean and the food is always delicious. I've never had a bad meal there.
Great local diner where you can get breakfast or lunch food choices anytime. Nice decor, friendly staff, and affordable food prices.
The food was delicious! The service was pleasant and timely. Our wait was 15 min during a Saturday lunch rush. Our experience was wonderful, and I highly recommend the Advocado toast!
The prices are a little high but Your never disappointed when you get your food. This is always my go to when I'm tired if the regular. Just wish I could afford it to be my regular.
Metro is one of my favorites for brunch. They always have tasty specials and their sta dad brunch items are all delicious (the vegetarian ones at the least). Oh, pro tip, you can order a half serving for a few bucks less and it's much closer to what one person actually should eat.
If you have a huge appetite, this is the place for you. Good food! Huge portions. Calories listed for each dish. Some healthier options are available
Great all around breakfast diner with the option for healthy sides (no cost for substitutions). Coffee could be better quality and cooking isn't always consistent, but it's still one of the best breakfast places in town. And it's open early.
So overhyped! This place could be a lot better - suggestions: better customer service, large space, more parking, better cooks.
