Incredibly unethical and if you dare to question them, they keep you past the mandatory 72 hours and continue to claim you are a danger to yourself. Oh, and when you're done, they will release you after midnight so they can bill your insurance (or you) an additional day. My insurance loved hearing that little fact.

The night I came to Park Royal, I was having a severe reaction to a medication. Dr. Zaheer Aslam spent less than 5 minutes with me before making a diagnosis and deciding my "treatment"- because he was too lazy to actually do clinical work. For 7 days, the most therapeutic thing I did was coloring and watching TV.so much for being helpful, right? But, they still felt the need to initiate a petition (involuntary) on someone who was completely compliant with all activities on the unit, medications, etc. I work closely with DCF-funded programs in Florida and I genuinely fear coworkers coming across my name in court documents, AHCA databases, etc. I will never, ever forgive Park Royal for this inexcusable lack of judgement (or, perhaps, it's nothing but greed and idiocy).

Dr. Aslam needs to have his license revoked or at least face disciplinary action- then perhaps he can feel just some of the turmoil he has caused others. He is a negligent practitioner and a disgusting excuse for a doctor (or for a human being, for that matter).

Honestly, though, Park Royal and Dr. Aslam don't even deserve this much effort in a review. This place is laughable at best and nothing more than a way to make money off vulnerable individuals. Just stay the hell away. If you find yourself here, lie like crazy and then run far, far away.

I can't believe the State of Florida allows such a place to stay open. If you have any family members that have a mental illness dont leave them at Park Royal. My nephew was sent home with an over dose by Dr. Rodrigues.well he calls himself a doctor. And no matter where you take a family member if he/she has Medicare or Medicaid is going to end up in that place called a Hospital

This place is a jail, not a health center. They have jailed my mom and will not provide any updates. Most people have been rude and barely speak English. Doctors stuffing her with drugs against her will and no doctor or nurse giving our family any updates whatsoever. I am the emergency contact too she provided. This place needs shut down and sued badly and I intend to start that path. I’ll be reaching out to every terrible reviewer here to gather a petition to put this jail out of business. It’s been 24 hours and we have no data and no doctor info since she was involuntary admitted!

Terrible place! Do not go! The pharmacist /Desk guy at night is really verbally abusive. I am a pain management patient and when I was checked in I had to go with NOTHING until the next day when I saw the doctor. I even brought my meds with me. He said they were not verified and could not give me my own medicine. How am I supposed to get better if I am not in my normal state of mind? I went through withdrawl and didn't get 5 minutes of sleep in 2 days. They didn't have a pillow for Jesus sake! So I didn't have my meds and no sleep. There food was pretty bad. They purposely give you a light colored marker when your writing a complaint so nobody could read it. When you have a disability they will not write for you. The only good guy was the psychiatrist. When I told him all the complaints he just had this look like everyone told him and oh well nothing we can do. I never got a pillow in 3 days even thought they were "working on it". Staff was very condescending. I went there because my gf at the time broke up with me after 8 years and it was on new years of all days. I remember screaming at the pharmacy guy you treat suicidal patients and your a [insert word here starts with letter A]. This waa because not only did not help me get my regular pain meds I been taking for 10 years. He did not care and was past rude. He was laughing. So I was in pain, sick, coud't get a wink of sleep. I was upset about my life's partner breaking up with me. I just told them I was having a bad day and they discharged me 3 days after I got there. Took them 2 days to get my normal pain meds handed to me. Then the pharmacist "accidently" overlooked my sleep medicine I finally got from their doctor I was applaud by this.
