The Westin Tampa Waterside reviews
28Went there for church service. Lovely service and free wi-fi as long as you are a guest either paying or part of one of the booked conference rooms
The guy at the desk was rude and wouldn't match the quote that the hotel itself gave me on the phone earlier that evening. The bartenders asked me @10: 30 (right after I checked in) if I could order any and all drinks I wanted right then so they could clean up and be gone by 11. So I had to drink my second drink after half an hour of it sitting there. The only stipulations I gave on my room was a King and I wanted a upgraded shower because I'm larger and don't like to use the normal showers. The desk clerk told me my room had an upgraded shower, it did not. Overall every employee I met during my stay was rude, a liar, or both. Convenient location for after Lightning games if you've been drinking but there are definitely better places in town for nearly $200/night. Employees at the Westin don't care about the customers. At least not late at night. Awful experience.
Beautiful hotel, nice room. Two restaurants. On the water! Wish I had access to more water to drink. Front desk was efficient but just okay for friendly.
Great location but other than that nothing to write home about. No amenities, mandatory valet, and barely cool AC (too hot for sleeping).
Poor Customer Service. For those of us who travel for a living, we occasionally forget something in the rooms when we leave. In the 22 years I've been traveling on the road, I've never had a hotel return something that I left in the room. This hotel is no different but they disappoint you with a special pizzazz and evilness. I called back mere hours after leaving and was directed to a special "lost and found" where I left a very detailed message. No callback. Then, I called the Housekeeping Director and left a very detailed message. No callback. Then, I called for the Manager and instead got a supervisor. Instead of going to the room and looking for my item LIKE I ASKED, he checked the housekeeping logs to see if an item matching my description was turned in. OF COURSE IT WASN'T TURNED IN MORONS. You pay your housekeeping staff minimum wage so anything they find is finders keepers. These guys didn't even go up to the room to see if it was still there where it was lost. This hotel has a culture problem in which nobody really cares about the guests. They don't answer their phones, they don't return their calls. They don't listen to customers when they do talk to them and they certainly don't think logically when it comes to solving a customer situation. You can see it in their body language. The employees are merely hourly employees slogging their way through life.
Don't stay at this hotel. There's nothing there to attract you to comeback.
Beautiful property, directly on the river, great views. Excellent service from valet to front desk to management. Staff is very accomidating. Beautiful guest room! Highly recommend
The hotel has beautiful and modern rooms, I also had a refrigerator. The staff was very friendly with helping me with printing some paperwork I needed. It's close to several restaurants and bars with waterfront seating. It took about 20 minutes to get to and from the airport.
