Right here between pinellas county in Tampa is this wonderful untouched area of nature where you can bring your own kayak or rent a canoeing as you tour an estuary. It still recovering from man made disasters like Red tide and the thing that kills off seagrass - motorboats, But the shoreline look spectacular. One day it will be a wonderful fishing estuary if we can keep development from destroying it.

Not my favorite place. Hikers and kayakers might like it but not a place for bird watching. Walked for ever through the boardwalks. Only saw a few white Ibis. There are no signs out on the trails or boardwalks. I can't recommend this place.

Beautiful nature preserve. Learned a lot about the area in the history museum. Well maintained walkways, easy to navigate through the area. Great place to enjoy the day in peaceful surroundings for the less active adults. Will return to Whedon Preserve again.

There are not many open vistas but it's a nice place for peaceful, uncrowded walking/running trails.

Absolutely a hidden gem! Shame they removed the kayak trail markers. That was a great Boy Scout Eagle project and had recently been updated and new markers put in.

My Dad took me here nearly every day he was off work, It Still looks about the Same here now as when Me and family went there as kids. Makes me feel At peace with the world just looking here at the pictures. They also have a Museum here might aft to ask them if I can add some to it.

Great walking or biking trails and water trails for kayaks. Lots of shaded trails to for those hot days.

Immediately loved this area. I also love this place If you're about "vibes" you should most definitely feel this place out.

Aside from the feels, the views are beautiful and tranquil. Probably would be best not to go out in the middle of a summer day but yolo right? Please stay hydrated?

Was at the sandbar for the concert on the water. Tons of fun but the water is So murky! Wish it wasn’t so sewage like. Love the company though!

I love Weedon Island! The boardwalk throughout the preserve is so cool! Great opportunities to see flora and fauna! The kayak launch is okay, but there are like eight parking spots, which fill up fast on the weekends especially. When they're full, you have to leave your boat/stuff unattended and park a half mile up the road in the learning center parking lot and walk down to the launch. There's no sidewalk.

Always a fun stop to see some of Florida's great wildlife. Platform trails with many places to stop and appreciate nature's beauty.

I visited this preserve this weekend with my family and it was absolutely fantastic. There are multiple trails to walk and see nature and so much wildlife! When we first pulled into the parking area there was a turtle just hanging out saying hi to everyone! There are launch points to go kayaking and so many beautiful areas to explore. I highly recommend the walk to the lookout tower, the view is incredible. When we finished with our walking, which was extensive for us, we headed to the Nature and Historical Center, which is FREE by the way. It is amazing! You must go inside, there are many hands on activities for the kids, a gift shop and the volunteers and workers are very knowledgeable and so friendly. We were given a list of the summer workshops for kids and most of them are free! The best part is the workshops are actually at days and times that you can attend if you work during the week. They have plenty of weekend shops that adults can participate in as well. All in all, it was a great trip and if you love exploring Florida it is a great adventure.

It's got great mangrove tunnels to paddle through and Sweetwater kayaks offers a good place to start your paddle. A great place to bring visitors to Florida. ~Steve Sapato, the most famous unfamous speaker in America

The staff was very friendly. Kayaks were in great shape and the water was beautiful. Bugs can be a problem in the tight spots, groves, but if you keep moving they aren’t bad. Not sure what bug spray works, they are robot bugs.

Great place. Some signs are distroyed by the elements, but for the most part most look great. The exhibit center is very nice. Ask them about the canoe.
