Looooove Weedon Island!
Great walking paths. Relatively quiet with people depending on the time you go. Lots of nature and wildlife to observe.
Wildlife: raccoons, egrets, heron, spoonbills, jumping mullet, snakes, squirrels, frogs, rats, doves, etc

Great dock for kayak and canoes launch. Restroom and filtered water.
A board to clean and wash fish.

Great walking trails and an awesome water trail. I wish it was better marked. They had to remove the water trail markers, but someone has flagged the trail in orange engineer tape. The tape is sometimes hard to identify at a distance, but it's there. Still a 5-star rating.

Very secluded for Pinellas, and very unspoiled. A trek up the observation tower is worth it. The view is breathtaking and very serene. Walk to any of the docks and you won't believe how many fish are swimming under and around the dock.

Archaeologically and ecologically important area that is a beautiful natural area as well. The visitor center is well appointed with extensive exhibits including a 1000+ year old canoe that was discovered on the island.

Many of trails are are handicapped accessible but their signage is lacking and it is easy to get a bit lost so take a park map with you (available at the trailhead).

Naturalist and gardening seminars and demonstrations are also given in the Visitor Center.
