As I was visiting Florida I was In need of medical care. I was a lucky man to have been assigned to MATT LAUGHLIN. MD. Upon admission i was a mess.the nursing care was fantastic. DONNA, MIMI, TARA, ETC, ETC. WERE SO GOOD TO ME. THEY EACH HAD A VERY HEAVY CASE LOAD. BUT THEY WERE STILL THERE FOR ME. THANK YOU, THANK YOU IM BACK IN THE LAND OF ICE AND SNOW and will follow up with a urologist here. I can't say enough about the wonderful care. Thanks Dr. Matt and team.thanks

I took my wife in on a Thursday evening at 7pm for severe pains in the right upper side of her head. She sat almost an hour before being triaged then sent back to lobby. Another 30 minutes go by and they take her for a CT SCAN. Two and a half hours later she finally gets up and asks if her results came back yet and was told they were. But, since she was in the lobby still they had to get them. She sat another hour with no results.no offer of pain meds or anything. She finally got tired and left. After me calling and asking what the deal is they asked us to come back so they could give her the results. I dont see why we had to go through all of that to finally get results when they could have given them hours ago. Worst hospital in the county. I must add that there were only 4 people in the lobby when she got there 5 hours before.

On my third night in the hospital, I want to just give a shout out to the nurses and hospital staff that have taken care of me the last few days. They have been attentive, informational, caring, thoughtful. They have sat and talked to me about everything from death metal bands, to tattoos, to life, concerns and advice. Thank you all. You have dedicated your life to helping people like me and I can't thank you and show my appreciation enough. ️️

I had pancreatitis and the nurses and doctors kept me up to date on everything that was going to happen to me. They were all very warm and friendly. I was impressed with my care for the 6 days I was in West Marion and would not hesitate to go back.

Talk about unprofessional! The lady answering the phone is extremely rude. I called to ask a simple question and could not even finish without her interrupting with I DONT KNOW YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE APP TO FIND OUT! So I took my business elsewhere.

While the doctors and most of the nurses were very caring and professional, I can’t say the same for administrative staff. My sister did not have insurance and they were in a rush to get her out. Now she is in a “rehab center” without the proper equipment and care she needs. Also, the hospital does not seem to understand the dietary needs of diabetics.

My medical care was exemplary. Only in for 1 overnite. I do have to say though, the meals left much to be desired - bring your own brown bag!

I’ve gone twice in the past year and both times they were incredibly fast at getting me in. The first time, I had an elbow injury. It took only 5 minutes to get in a room & be seen. The second time, I had severe abdominal pain, and it took less than 60 seconds to get in. Very friendly and caring doctors, amazing hospital.

Whatever you do, don't go to the Quick Care. You think it's a walk in but it's not. They will bill you for ER services. I got charged over $700 for something as simple as a cold. I will NEVER go there again

Had to go to see the ER Dr. Khaled AL-Mulhem last night due to a wrist surgery I had on Friday and was treated with respect by him and his PA, Aj. We had no problems and were treated with respect. That doctor treated my pain and the issues I was having and told me to keep an eye on the surgical site because it looked infected. Dr. Khaled told me if I had any complications to come back the next day and he would do the same treatment for me since it was the weekend and the orthopedic doctors office was closed until Monday. I was able to get home at 2: 30am and my wife and I were able to get some much needed rest. Waking up the next morning my hand was even more swollen and the pain had doubled. We decided to go back to the ER. Upon arriving my wife and I were greeted by disrespectful PA’s and nurses right out of the gate. These people were rude, disrespectful, with terrible attitudes and completely profiling me before I even made it out of triage. I called the number I was given by a nice woman who worked in the ER to speak to administration about the way I was treated. Little did I know the same change nurse that was in the room in triage was the same woman to answer the phone. She acted like she could care less about the way the PA was acting. The PA tells me that what Dr. Khaled had done for me the night prior was ridiculous and that “she” wasn’t going to treat me the same way lol. The PA was acting like she was the Dr and apparently thought she knew more then a seasoned Dr. So the charge nurse is doing nothing but making excuses for the way her nurses and PA were acting. At this point I was so upset not only from being in extreme pain but by being treated like some piece of garbage while these three people were having fun playing God. I told the charge nurse that I was going to report her and her unprofessional group and she encouraged it as she was somehow proud of they way they were all acting, completely unprofessional! I was in a very sever motorcycle accident back in 2004 and so I’ve seen this a lot over the last 14 years but this particular group of people pushed me past my breaking point and this wasn’t the first time at this hospital this has happened. After leaving the hospital we were able to reach the orthopedic surgeon who met us on Sunday at his office. Come to find out my hand was infected and two times the size it was the night before. So the people who had profiled me before I was able to even speak to the Dr could’ve heard me out and found out for themselves that I was actually getting worse if they had taken the time to listen to me. The very first thing that came out of the PA’s mouth was that she wasn’t treating my pain the same way the other “Doctor” did. That was all I needed to hear to know they didn’t care about my situation rather she was just going to make a decision to be rude and disrespectful before even finding out what was going on. I was able to get a phone call from Michele who was the director of ER services. She was very nice and said that she was going to speak to all of them and I appreciated her respect and sincerity. However, if they just get a slap on the wrist and do it to someone else then I’m not okay with that. I will be seeking legal advice. Something needs to change with the way health care is provided to people who actually need it. We pay for the hospitals services and the people we pay act like they’re paying us. I honestly enjoyed Dr. Khaled and his team. He’s a doctor who cares but some of the other triage PA’s and nurses have way too much power at West Marion.
