Hideaways Beach reviews
33Beautiful beach. There are only about 7 public parking places. So we asked at the hotel if we could use their valet parking. They said of course and parked our rental car. Came back, expecting a hefty bill, none. Grateful we left a healthy gratuity. Not that hard to park or get to, a bit of a hike down and up, but worth it. It's a beautiful area, wonderful snorkeling.
The trail is really steep and narrow. Mostly a one-lane road if you will. Park elsewhere. The lot is miniscule. There are ropes on the trail. My trepidatious 8 year old made it. The snorkeling is well worth it! Clear water, loads of fish. A small beach space but there is shade and all the beachgoers were happy and mellow.
Best snorkeling on the north shore. Limited parking. Trail is difficult to traverse so wear shoes because parts of it are a climb. Once there its fantastic and worth the effort.
Tranquil secluded beach.access from a small path by the parking lot and tennis court.the hike down is short but steep and muddy - one segment has ropes to help you keep your balance
The snorkeling is so awesome and it is really pretty once you get there. It is totally worth it
Very very steep muddy cliff. Need to use ropes to get down and up. Beautiful beach when you arrive. Very strong waters.
Beautiful for snorkeling and views but we went today and there were tons of only young people (teenagers, college students) drinking alcohol and smoking weed. Was wayyy too crowded for my taste. It's very small and gets crowded quick.
GORGEOUS! We stayed in a townhouse on Makai golf course. Rode our bikes to the trail head next to the condos and hiked down. Wear water shoes or rugged sandals as the trail is steep and slippery. We went in July and the water and snorkeling were perfect. Not an abundance of fish but many turtles.
My favorite place to snorkel on the island! We saw a ton of fish, eels, and an octopus here. Lots of reef channels and calm waters every morning we were down there.
Best beach in Kawai, great for snorkeling and not many people. I've seen sea turtles twice at this spot. There are a bit of currents at sometimes and the traffic can be shallow so only go in if you are experienced. Nothing good comes without a challenge, the way down to the beach is a bit steep and the parking is very limited. If you are staying at Princeville I would recommend walking.
Treacherous & steep little path to get there. Otherwise a great experience. Arrive early or there will be no parking.
Small, secluded, golden sand beach with lush vegetation. We went in March so the waves were too strong to swim in, but it was beautiful to just sit on and enjoy the scenery. The climb down was no joke, especially since it was muddy-be careful climbing down. On a calmer day I could imagine this place being like a paradaisical beach.
Very hard to get to (lots of crawling and somewhat dangerous descent) but spectacular. You will need both hands and sturdy shoes (you might slip in your flipflops), but it's worth it. My favorite beach in Kauai! Spectacular and rather private.
