This hiking trail place the Lulumahu Falls near Pali Highway street in my opinion is very natural and not very well maintained. No restroom either so have to improvised. It is risky to navigate through the lush dense bamboo forest with mud and water stream. Fallen branches where you have to duck under slowly likely to hit your head. Altogether it is risky with steep incline pathway, lots of climbing, high chance to slip & fall accidents, and easy to get lost. Just have to pay close attention to those small strings tied to guide your way out of the trail. Your only end finish line reward is a waterfall and a small pool to go swimming. Long hike with very little to no warning, expect to get wet & filthy, & bring towels and swimsuits.

Great hike if you are little more experienced and have good shoes but I don't recommend if you have kids. It was an insane hike with my 3 year old. I guess it would have been nice to know this beforehand how long the hike was. I know it's my fault for not researching. Still got to see the waterfall with family but it wasn't an easy hike by all means. Like I said previously, I would only recommend if you enjoy hiking and have some decent experience. I still give 3 stars because it was worth a hike with beautiful waterfall. 40 - 50 mins one way, so be ready!

Luv this hike! Used to go here when it wasnt popular and since everyone knows about this one figure ill post a review. Luv the different landscapes, grafitti art, and especially the waterfall and pool at the end. I dnt know how this trail is now but i hope its being well kept, no litter etc. Hiking tips- i suggest wear hiking shoes and i suggest bring water and this one is a chill spot. Be careful the slippery rocks. Aloha

Trespassing on Government land so a permit is needed. This is not easy and many inexperienced nonlocal people have to be airlifted off. There are no paths it really is climbing up and through jungle.

Hiked around 6am, absolutly 0 people going up or down
Hike was fairly easy. Spent about 30 min by myself at the fall itself as there was absolutly no body

Such a cool hike! It was very beautiful and enjoyable for the most part.the waterfall was totally worth the work, and i don’t regret visiting! The only thing i do regret is wearing my normal walking shoes.you’re required to pass by small streams and such, so sometimes i get splashed or have to put my shoe in the water.it is clean, not enjoyable to feel though.sandals probably work, but make sure they are cheap! I suggest this because of the mud patches and just because it’s hiking in general.i went early, like 7am and that was amazing! Its not too crowded during, and i wasn’t burning at all.i DO suggest using the bathroom before hand, speaking by experience.but anyway, it was an amazing sight and i actually got to step underneath the waterfall and take pictures.that’s also one thing i suggest.bringing a swimsuit! Or just something you don’t care if it gets both messy or wet.as for getting lost, i got there just fine on the first try.on trees you'll see pink markers on the trees, so as long as you keep a look out whenever there are two paths, you’re all good.everything is ur choice, these are just things i suggest/wish i did.thank the earth for its nature<3

This is an excellent short waterfall hike. The hike is easy but usually very wet or muddy because the part of Oahu it's on is wet hence the waterfall. Wear shoes or clothes that are goretex as the mud is red it stains. Before you leave make sure to stand under the water fall as it's very cold clean and refreshing!

This is a really nice little hike there is some parking on the road before it, but not a lot. There is several ways of getting tot the falls, if you take the easy looking path you will eventually find yourself in a lot of mud and bamboo which is fun or you can take a left turn right after you go through the hole in the fence and fallow the power lines overgrown path in for a ways till you come to the revisor, from there go to the right to the next fence and climb the pallets. Then fallow that trail. Way easier and cleaner.

A great hike. Make sure to get detailed directions, there are a few easy places to get lost (but it is worth it!).

The trail starts at the Honolulu watershed forest reserve. Initially it's a big path but it gets narrower further. You have to cross the stream a couple of times, pass through bamboos, and deep forest to reach the waterfall. Not too much hike though. Its totally worth it. Very nice waterfall. Highly recommended.

Excellent hike. A great intermediate level hike. Takes about an hour. Bring your swimsuit and camera it’s an great time. Always brought the kids with me. Make sure to not leave valuables out to be seen. I’ve. Never had my cars broken into but I’ve seen other people’s cars that park away from the pack get windows smashed and things taken.

Beautiful trail! Not friendly for kids and wear a proper hiking outfit. No problem with the parking lot and accessible location.

This is an amazing hike! I would say it's a medium to high difficulty hike only because there's so much mud and rocks and water and you slightly have to hike up and down the mountains but if you are a new Hiker it could be dangerous and you could fall and potentially be very hurt. Just make sure you have the right shoes and the right it's hired you will get very muddy and dirty. It also is a longer hike depending on how fast you do but I would guesstimate about 2 hours there and back.

Trail is pretty poorly marked and confusing. Trail is also fairly slippery. We found our way fine, even at night. But several parties during the day got lost and we had to end up calling a rescue for lost party when we returned to the trailhead. I don’t recommend trying this trail for the first time in the afternoon and you should procedure at your own risk. That being said I had a great time. Very pretty waterfall.

I wish I could do more than 5 stars. Absolutely one of Hods greatest creations. Waterfalls. Rainbows. Positive energy.
An hour long hike for an old man with a bad heart & stopping & taking pictures.
There’s a short cut through a government construction site. Avoid during working. Run away. Because you’re in trouble if they catch you. But they go home early. No night security. I wouldn’t do anything more than take pictures. Short cut saves 1/2 an hour.
Well worth it

This is one of the best hikes to a waterfall on the island. It is not the tallest waterfall nor the one with the most water however I believe it is the most scenic looking Trail as you hike up to the waterfall itself. There is so much to see. This Trail I highly recommend for anyone wanting to have beautiful scenery of different types as you hike to the waterfall. Absolutely gorgeous.

A short and mildly strenuous hike that has plenty of mud and rocks to navigate but it pays off with a beautiful waterfall at the end!

Really Nice hike. Not terribly difficult. Slippery in a few places. Bout 40 minutes each way for my group but we're kinda fast. There are a few trails that parallel the stream up to the falls and its hard to figure out which one is correct but they all take you to the same place. The wall bu the short waterfall is about the half way point. Look out for wild parking lot chickens.
