Sam's Ocean View Restaurant Kapaa Kauai, Kapaʻa HI

Awesome view, love the stadium seating so everyone gets a great view. There was a woman doing yoga near the beach.interesting people watching. Great drinks. Ordered the Lychee Martini and Lilikoi jalapeño Margarita. Yum!

The hostess was accommodating to our large party, which we appreciated. About $13-19 per entree for brunch, which was pricy for the portion size - but the service was quick and courteous.

The food was pretty good - the shredded corned beef hash was actually a standout and the best I've ever tasted - but what you're really paying for is the ocean view from a second story open verandah, which was breathtakingly stunning.

Get here early as this place gets packed out. Book a water View table. We had the poke nachos (a must), beef tenderloin with blue cheese and a blue cheese salad. Yep we love our blue cheese.

Very good, great views, they didnt rush us even though it was the end of the night. Prices a little high, but not too high not to make this a stop for dinner.

Great staff, great drinks great views. A tiny bit pricey but that's to be expected, we're in paradise.

The best experience! Fantastic fish and the customer service, especially with kids, was outstanding.

Absolutely delicious seafood. I had this parmesan crusted white fish with some sort of lemon caper sauce and mashed potatoes. It was absolute heaven on a plate.

Great atmosphere and drinks. There was a live performer and our waitresses (who was one of the best I've ever had btw) even sung with him. She had a killer voice.

We didn't have a reservation but still ended up with what we think was the best view/seat in the house. Food was great. Tapas was quite filling and unique

The fish an chips suppose to be excellent was bad fish was bland an fries were limp an over cooked coleslaw was good

Dinner was lovely I had the dinner special which was the opha Moon Fish served over a fresh salad. Server was very busy only visited twice but regardless my boyfriend and I enjoyed our time.

We heard nothing but good things about Sam's Ocean View Restaurant. We were told it was comparable to Hukala Lanai. No comparison and boy were we disappointed. The food was fair, but definitely not good. It was way overpriced and had very little flavor. The view was very nice, but we could have seen the same view by walking out to the ocean in front of the restaurant which was a public area.

Great view, nice atmosphere, food was delicious. Kinda wish I got a little more. It was ok because it left room for desert somewhere esle

Fantastic view, great live music, the wait staff is very attentive, and the meals (local fish and beef) were some of the best we have experienced. Don't miss this gem when in Kauai!

Miscommunication by the staff resulted in us not being served for 10-15 minutes. Regardless our server was sincerely apologetic and friendly enough that we had forgotten all about it. We dropped in just for drinks and to see the view but the entrees sounded amazing and wish we could have had more time to revisit. Beware the "Painkiller" is just as it implies although the taste is fairly painful in and of itself.

When I went last year this place was a 5 star. Not sure what has happened since last November but now I am dropping to a 1 star. The food was mediocre, the eggs Benedict came out hard middles, and we had to send the over easy eggs back due to them being cooked all the way through. Very disappointed as I was really looking forward to their brunch again.

Good selection of different types of foods and healthy alternatives. They have a vegan option which is the kale quinoa Thai curry which was delicious. My wife had the pesto pasta and she loved it. Live music was very good on Monday night and the service was the best we had so far on the island. Sounds weird but the water was really good here! The view kinda was non existent as it was dark and no lights shining on the beach. Suggest an early or sunset dinner time for a good view.

Happy hour pricing on drinks is from 4 to 6 pm. The food is very good, the service is very good and the view is excellent. Our group of 4 each had a different entree and all were wonderful.

Sam's is great place where you get a second floor view of a spectacular Kauai ocean view. The menu choices aren't a varied as other fine dining restaurants, however, they have an ample selection of any meat or fish dish you would want. We had a shrimp and pasta fettuccine which was very delicious. Highly recommend this place.
