Bluebird Diner reviews
30Had the Mr bluebird's egg sandwich meal. The mini omelette was dry, the sourdough soggy in parts, the bacon barely "cooked". The hashbrowns were dry and flavorless. Service was slow. A table of 2 next to us, which ordered at the same time, was all but done with their meal before our party of 3 was even served. A disappointing meal to be sure.
Bold statement but their pancakes are easily in top 10 I've had wandering around this great land of ours. So rich and thick even I who can power through some breakfast was tested at just under 2 of them. I look forward to a rematch.
If you're looking for traditional diner fare, keep looking, because despite the decor, this is not your traditional diner. The menu is definitely yuppified and very trendy. The food is quite good, though a bit on the expensive side, and you'll need to feed a parking meter.
Such a lovely place with great staff. The perfect spot to bring families for brunch or just getting a guilty pleasure fix with their famous cinnamon rolls. I had the breakfast sandwich and omigoodness a definite must have. Also their coffee is damn good.
Great cafe on RAGBRAI route through Iowa City. Stopped here to watch RAGBRAI go by and to wait for Shawn to catch up. We had dinner on the deck. Then rode on to our camp.
Hit breakfast here right off of the bike trail. Eggs Benedict (Chesapeake/crab cakes) we're the bomb!
Great food, service, and exactly the atmosphere you want when you hear the word "diner".
If you're not there when it's super busy, there are flies constantly buzzing around you the entire time youre there. Happens every time I go outside the breakfast rush. Food is great. Sometimes they can be a little slow. Generally good food and atmosphere though.
Really good breakfast food! You can get something traditional or unique. The bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns were really good. All-in-all a really great diner
