Food only slightly above average. Cool decor, great location and overall it was a pretty good atmosphere for a weeknight. Tons of beer on tap. But if you are looking for really good, authentic German, I didn't find it here. The appetizers were a pretty cool fusion (for example, rouladen egg rolls). But the jeager schnitzel was just average, and the speatzel noodles looked like just some boiled mini shell pasta. I put an average 3 stars, but overall I left disappointed.

We had a large group on a Saturday night so the wait for everything was a bit long. Not sure if it's standard or not but to be expected at that time and with a group of 9. Very large selection of beers, everyone found something they enjoyed. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful with the drink selections and even though I don't drink beer, I still found something I enjoyed. The food was great as well.

After 5 years in the Army living in Germany, I know German food. This place rocks with a FULL German food menu and tons of beer on tap! Awesome restaurant in Des Moines.

Ok.the best cheese soup ever made is served here! My husband loves the bratwurst basket. Service can be a bit spotty at times, but great food here, as well as, a nice selection of German beer and wine.

Easily my favorite restaurant in DSM. Food and beer combo is everything you could hope for and super authentic. The service is also great and the wait staff is knowledgeable.

This restaurant is AMAZING! I am German and this place made me feel like I am at home. I had my Family order things that I really think they might like (and I know I will:) ) and I picked from everybody's plate. Every dish made me feel at home. Cant wait to go back. Vielen Dank an euch <3
