Shrine of the Grotto of the Redemption reviews
33Amazing experience! We loved this place and it is very accommodating for people with wheelchairs like for my dad.
Unbelievable how many geological rocks that had to have been procured to create this amazing homage to God. Very interesting as to why it was created.
Honestly one of the prettiest places I've been. Im Not really religious but the combined of crystals and geodes are so pretty, stop here if you can. Also a museum and gift shop
If I could tell you one thing about this exquisite and unique attraction it’s this: The pictures do not do this place justice. It may be a bit of a drive if you’re not traveling through but there are really pretty grounds with trees and bench’s, a water feature with swans, a playground, gift shop with religious material, an ice cream shop, museum and of course the grotto. Built with a collection of stones, shells, geodes and crystals gathered nationwide the sheer beauty of the materials artistically displayed is awe inspiring. For those who are believers, seeing the story of Man and Christ unfolded in such detail is truly touching. If you’re not a believer I believe it would still be an interesting stop for the beauty that abounds. Ponder the beauty, the work it took to create and even the meaning of life and your unique purpose. To God be the Glory.
Definatly worth a visit if your in the area. It's amazing this was all done by hand. What dedication this must have took.
The dedication it took to build such a place is crazy! Girlfriend talked me into visiting this and I'm glad we did.
Beautifully carved stones and amazing display of art. Grotto was beaming with light from the sun. Colourful rocks gave it a more unique look. I really enjoyed touring the grotto and loved the entire area surrounding it. Its serene and beautiful.
An amazing place that even some Iowans don't even know exist. Often called the 8th wondervof the world.
Very beautiful and peaceful place. You can spend an entire day soaking in the spiritual beauty of this place. Highly recommend. Would visit again.
This should be on everyone's stop when traveling through Iowa. Truly amazing what one priest accomplished. The grotto has rocks and shells from around the world. Many Biblical scenes depicted here. Very beautiful.
Worth the drive to see this. Beautifully constructed, interesting museum and nice park all in one place. Not much around town to take in, so pack snacks/lunch.
2nd visit. First one a long time ago. So beautifully created and great theme: our Lords journey thru life. Great gift shop and museum too. Well worth the trip to northern Iowa. Only about half hour from Wild Rose Casiino too in Emmetsburg.
Anyone who loves the Lord and breath taking art work all done with beautiful stones from all over the world, will love love love the Grotto.
Interesting place. Tour takes about an hour.would love to take the tour sometime but didn't have enough available time on this trip. Hopefully get the opportunity to visit again someday!
This isn't the type of place you would usually find on my vacation itinerary.but it was so beautiful, I couldn't help but to add it. When we arrived, it did not disappoint! The pictures don't even do it justice. It is stunning!
One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen in my life. Was well worth the trip. A great experience for me and my daughter. It’ll always be one of my most cherished memories.
I go here at least once every year just to relax. Its beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Good food at the cafe across the street too.
Just an impressive of hard work. Even though I was not aware of the religious context it was a cool site.
Awesome place to visit. Knowledgeable guides tell the history of the building of the grotto. Free to visit, donations accepted. Unbelievable specimens of rocks.
