Genesis Health Clubs - Liberty, Kansas City MO

I have been going here for years. It has a nice variety of equipment and classes for a fair price.

It’s a smaller gym but it is equipped very well. All the trainers are nice and answered all my questions about pre-work outs and protein.

Definitely not very clean and it seems to have gotten worse. The minimum expectation i have is that they would wipe down the hair off of elliptical, stairsteppers, and treadmill daily. It's been there for about 4 weeks.

My husband belonged to this gym and was a good customer. When we sold our house and moved to an apartment that had gym equipment, Genesis Gym-Liberty gouged us for close to $300.00 to "buy out" his contract. Now they're advertising that you can join their gym "for free". Buyer beware: Genesis Gym will hook you with joining "for free" and will screw you when you are a good customer with a legit reason to stop. Yep. It IS in the fine print. Read carefully before you sign up with this place.

I love my Liberty Genesis gym! The staff are very respectful! Matthew Gillstrom, Fitness Manager, was super helpful to get me on the right plan for my goals and headed in the right direction. He asked detailed and challenging questions that really helped me envision the future, healthier me. He was kind and patient and helped me talk through some difficult things. I also worked with Shawn Monday CPT, and he was a wealth of knowledge to set me up for success. He showed me how to use equipment properly and demonstrated how I should do it. He was helpful to give me recovery tips and patient when I needed a break. He knew when to push me to do more and when to let me rest. Highly recommend him as a Certified Personal Trainer if you need one! He will get you where you want to go fitness wise. The front desk staff is extremely friendly, smiling, and always helps resolve any issues I have had. I really appreciate Heather, who works evenings. She's been a big encouragement to me and gave me helpful advice on working out and recovery. I'm grateful for this gym and their staff!

Great locker room. Very nice club for the size. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back to this location.

Great location with enough gym equipment to get the job done! Suggestion to add-on for basketball/volleyball courts.

I had a great experience when arriving. I was set up with Sean as my personal trainer and explained that I was working toward an athletic strength. We went through the testing and he gave me a goal to hit as he got to know me. Having a undergrade in exercise science we got to discuss workouts and what we saw work the best in our experience. While I like the staff I have meet, as far as equipment it would be nice to have one platform at least that could be used for hang & power snatch, power and hang cleans, split jerks.

The Gym is ok it has most of what I want/ need, the staff I can’t say much about because every couple of weeks it changes completely. In the beginning I like the staff that I met when I first signed up but now it’s a completely new staff. To be honest I’m waiting out my contract so I can sign up at the community center it’s cheaper and has everything.

Like this gym because it is conveniently located close to my house but it needs a lot of attention. I do a lot of traveling and have visited other Genesis Health Clubs in other cities and this has to be one of the worst. The other clubs have towel service, the locker rooms don't smell, it is a lot cleaner and more organized. They also have a place to order smoothie and so forth. The people that work here are friendly and always pleasant to talk too but I wish that they would pay more attention to detail.
