I was considering these apartments after looking around thoroughly at other apartments based on the amenities offered and some good reviews. But the bad reviews speak for themselves. Also, I am horrified at their pet policies, they require to see your vet records but not only that they REQUIRE that cats be DECLAWED. I will not be living here based on how you treat tenants or pets. If there is a review posted, and you argue with the poster instead of reaching out to resolve or ask for more information, that says volumes about the management.

There internet’s works maybe 50% of the time so you can’t ever do homework at your own place it seems like therefore I have to drive to the library all the time just to do a little bit of homework and plus my friends job is an online job and he’s had hours upon hours where he’s not getting paid because the internet’s doesn’t work. If the internet’s was better I would give them a 4 star

If you would like friends coming to your apartment this would be the absolute worst place to live.my car and other friends also got their vehicles towed not even 40 minutes of being parked there.they have a total of 4 visitors parking spots for the whole complex and they give NO WARNING to tow your car.then you have to go pay $200 just to get your car back.can’t find a reason why you would want to live here.

Staff is really friendly, gates are awesome and make me feel safe, and the pools are always super clean. Love this place.

My experience with Kensington has been great! I have never once felt like just a tenant here, but more like family instead! Brian, the new manager, is as kind as can be and helps however he can. The office staff are all very polite as well.

Amy and the leasing agents all went out of their way to make sure my experience there, with everything, went well. I looked at many nice apartments in Springfield and Kensington was by far the best choice. Any issues I have are addressed quickly and taken care of! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice apartment to live in.

Love living here so far. The girls in the office are always nice and answer any questions you may have. You may look at the price and say no, but everything you get with it is worth paying a little more. Everything is upgraded and having 24/7 security is a wonderful feature.

It would be zero stars if I had the option. They DO NOT PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES. My husband has worked for them for years painting and this year, they haven't been able to pay him. They currently owe him for work he did weeks ago but they somehow can't pay him. If that's how they treat employees, I can't imagine how crappy it would be to live there.

My experience with Kensington at first was good. However, the moment I picked up my keys it went down hill from there.
I work at an apartment complex, so I try to be as understanding as I can be because I know not everything is in their control. However, the things they can control they have chosen to ignore. When I got my keys, I opened the door to my unit (after they had told me that the unit had been vacant for quite sometime and was ready for us) and there was dirt piles all over the floor, like they had just forgotten to sweep it up and the carpet smelled awful like cigarette smoke and pee.
I had cleaned it all by myself and did the best I could to get rid of the smell. I couldn't handle the smell anymore due to getting migraines and put in a maintenance request. They gave me a spray to use and told me just to spray it on the carpet. That did nothing so I complained again. They got an ozone machine in my room but the smell came back. I complained 3 more times about the smell throughout the next couple months AND NOT ONE THING WAS DONE ABOUT IT. I would go to the office and talk with the managers and they said "my number was not correct in their system so they couldn't get ahold of me" I gave 3 different people my correct number who ALL said they would get in-touch with me and each time never called me.
While I was out of town, they said they could put a machine in my unit to help with the smell. I told them to let me know so I could make sure my dog was not home during that time. They never did. While I was out of town, my friend who stopped by to let my dog out said my apartment area smelled like weed. I was worried with my dog, so I called the office to ask if they would go by my unit to check, so if I needed to call my roommate I could. They proceeded to tell me on they phone "they don't do things like that. "
My last straw with this company, was when my roommate got a TEXT not a call or email a TEXT, saying we had a $980 balance on our account that needed to be paid within 30 days for replacing the carpet. I NEVER GOT A EMAIL, CALL, or TEXT. THANKFULLY my roommate and I are still close and she had reached out to me or I would have never known about the bill. The bill was for replacing the carpet because of dog urine. I wont lie my dog did pee a couple times, they get nervous, excited, etc. It happens. HOWEVER, I had issues with this carpet since I move in and now Im going to have to pay to get it replaced. I called the office right away. I had to call 4 times to finally get in touch with a manager who proceeded to tell me thats what it costs to change carpet in a 3 bedroom. I lived in a 2 bedroom. Then she said there was multiple dogs in my apartment. I only had one. They already didn't even know what apartment I was in or anything about it. On top of that, a two bedroom apartment with ONLY carpet in the tiny bedrooms should not cost $900+ to replace it. I asked why I was not contacted, which they said "my number in the system was in correct" ALTHOUGH I had given my number to 3 separate people just a few months ago. I asked why they didn't contact my co-signer and they said "we would in a couple weeks". Oh when I only have 30 days to pay it? After going back and forth for a couple days they FINALLY lowered the price to the actually price of a two bedroom. They had claimed it was "new" carpet when I moved in however, if that was true the smell wouldn't have been there as well as if brand new carpet was put in there, don't you think the apartment would have been cleaned better?
Overall, I think the management is very unprofessional, they have no idea whats going on or how to handle things. In springfield there are PLENTY of places to live with better service and quality of living.

Leasing agents cussing at tenants on the Group Me app for tenants because they’re “off the clock” and are “fed up” with what they have to deal with. Very unprofessional and even threatened “you guys know I’m your rental reference, so keep f***ing with us”. This goes out to all tenants.

People in office are all not responsible. Every time they promise to contact me back they never did.

My husband and I love Kensington Park and the girls in the office are so fantastic and always so sweet. Charles, the property manager is a complete jerk though. He’s unprofessional, rude and extremely short. He was the one to gave me my keys and he did not give me any information on the property, did not give me our mail key or explain how to use the front gate. Every time we have spoken with him he has been extremely rude. We have been so displease with him.

The staff at Kensington Park Apartments is fantastic. They continually try to provide a quality service and work in an efficient manner. They work hard to keep the property safe and sound. I have never loved where I live more than Kensington. Highly recommended!

Melissa and the staff are very down to earth and easy to work with. Never had any problems that weren't easily resolved by a quick check-in with Melissa. Maintenance requests were handled within 48 hours. Friendly staff, clean pool and a good gym. I had a great experience here.

The ladies in the office are amazing. They are always extremely friendly and willing to help however they can. I am very happy with the look of the apartment, I love the maintenance workers, and security always makes me feel very safe. That being said, here are my issues with this complex.

1.) The "free high speed internet" is a freaking joke. The internet is down at least once every week or two. When it's not down, there are plenty of times at night when the internet speed is. 016 Mbps (for reference, average is about 20 Mbps or more, to run Netflix or Hulu you need a speed of about 3-5 Mbps which is incredibly low). I will say that the office is really good about letting you know if the internet is down (but not when it is super slow or spotty).

2.) I live on the first floor, and often times maintenance men (from Mediacom I would guess) are in my storage closet. I'm assuming there is some kind of modem in there for the entire building, but I don't appreciate that no one told me this before I moved in to the complex. I also don't like that they go in and out of there as they please, without so much as notifying us that they will be going in a closet where I store a lot of our extra things such as holiday decor. They use my ladder in there sometimes, which I don't mind too much, but they also move around the items in the closet a lot which I feel is a violation of my personal property. If you're going to do this, please just tell me. Preferably before, but after would be better than nothing.
3.) When I moved in to my apartment, one girl had already lived there for a year and the other two girls moved out. The two who moved out trashed the apartment, and when my roommate who had lived here for a year asked Kensington what they could do about it they told her it was her responsibility. Considering these people signed a lease and paid a deposit I would think there is a way to make them clean up when they leave.
4.) Not Kensington's fault, but people whip around the curves of the parking lot all the time. I've almost had someone run in to my car 6 times in the past 2 months.

This is my second year of living inside the complex. Things have been really great but also really bad. Staff is friendly and as helpful as they can be, usually security has been quick to respond, and I feel generally safe and secure. When I moved into my second apartment here it was extremely dirty, paint everywhere, and it was a hassle to even get the key. I had called in advance about the key issue, set up a plan, called again the day of to remind them and still no key. We have power outages far more often than I understand, but the staff can’t control that and do a good job updating us. The internet situation is totally ridiculous. Last year and this year I’ve continually dealt with internet outages frequently, and the response time to getting it fixed is getting slower and slower. As of now, internet is out again and has been out for over a day. They communicated almost 7 hours ago that it should have been fixed within 3 hours but it is not, and no communication since. While living here is generally nice, the little issues just continue to pile up and lead to huge frustration.

Update - just a week or so later and guess what? The internet is down again. I shouldn’t have to constantly leave my apartment to use internet.

I've lived here for 4 years, and in the last 2 months I've had my locked truck broken into twice and had over $2,000 of property stolen out of it. The office acted very concerned the first time and said they would help as much as they could with the police to find the person. The police called me wanting the video from the cameras that the office was supposed to have provided a month ago but hadn't. The second time I had a cooler chained and padlocked in my truck and it was stolen. The office didn't act to worried and said they would review the tape and get back with me. After calling them for 9 days they finally said the camera malfunctioned and there was nothing they could do. All in all, I'm very unsatisfied with Kensington, the security guard is a joke and they don't care to have a little gumption to find stolen property on they're 150 security cameras. If I wanted $2,000 of my stuff stolen from a "gated community" I don't have to pay $800 a month.

As the owner of Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning we service all of Southwest MO and work with a lot of property management companies and apartment complexes. Over the past few months I've had the privilege of working with Valerie, Mitch and the staff at Kensington Park. Every interaction I've with anyone associated with this company has been a positive one. The staff is organized and show a geniune concern for their tenants. Property is safe and immaculately cared for. Cannot recommend more highly!

They've had a large, overflowing open-top dumpster in the parking lot for 2 weeks now. Trash is everywhere. The whole area stinks of garbage.

The pools are almost always full of loud drunk obnoxious bros blasting bad music until midnight or later. When the pools close for fall and winter and they have no place to go, you'll often find them in the parking lot screaming at each other and fighting. Then drunkenly speeding around the lot. Its like living in the dorms again.

If management took care of business a little better it'd be a great place to live. Unfortunately its become something between a frat house and a landfill.

My daughter moved in last week. At first, they told us she could move in on August 1, but when we went there with all her stuff, they said she had to move in on August 2! My husband and I traveled from another city to help her to hear that? Well, they let her in, but the apartment was all dirty, dusty, nails and screws all over the carpet, the fridge, microwave and stove all dirty. My daughter couldn't put her things away. They said they would clean the apartment the next day. The good thing was that she was on vacation from work, and college hasn't startet yet, so she came home for the rest of the week. She went back to the apartment Sunday night, and they had changed the lock, so she couldn't get in. My husband called a phone number he found on the internet, and they opened the door for her, but she had to spend the night at some friend's apartment because the place was still dirty. Today, they called me to tell me that they couldn't find anybody to clean the apartment, but they will clean it tomorrow! They haven't cleaned the apartment after a week! Should I pay a whole month rent? ! The staff is very, super nice, and friendly, but so far. I am very disappointed! I do not like the way they have handled all this situation! One of her roommates will move in this Wednesday, and the other one, this weekend. I hope the place will be ready for all of them! We where all excited, thinking that our daughter was moving to a nice apartment complex, what else can we expect for the rest of the year?
