Impressive stuff! We got an ice cream flight and they were all awesome!

All flavours are creamy even the water based ones like the Guavito. Generous size for the price too!

Ice cream is pretty good and consistent. We go there a lot with the kids as we live in the area. Salted caramel is always a win.

Fantastic ice cream and friendly staff. The lines are long so you know it's good, but they move quick

The staff is very friendly and they have quite a few choices on their menu. I tried strawberry and cream and salted caramel. The first one was meh, the second one I didn’t like at all. Wouldn’t recommend, especially not given the $7 for a small cup.

A little pricey, but pretty good ice cream. They could use more dairy free flavors for us lactose intolerants.

The place has a nice theme and different ice cream flavors compared to the usual flavors. I personally don’t think the price of the ice cream is worth it but there no harm in trying it at least once.

Ample Hills is unrecognizable in taste and service since it’s founders had to sell in 2020.

I live in the neighborhood and often would walk over during breezy spring, summer and even fall evening to get a quick treat. My faves, while simple compared to other Ample Hills creations, they were perfect in every way — Vanilla Bean and Sweet Cream & cookies. And on many occasion during colder months, I would order delivery and the ice cream always arrived cold, and freshly packaged.

I just order both my faves — it arrived to my house about 15 min after ordering.

Problem 1: They’re no longer serving freshly packaged ice cream for delivery… they’re giving prepackaged ice cream they have in their poorly regulated refrigerator [its 79 degrees outside and the ice cream arrived quickly … so that means it was a melted, soupy mess before it left the store…]

Problem 2: the flavors are unrecognizable and more over actually taste gross. The vanilla bean ice cream very clearly taste like eggs and pounds of sugar without a trace of bean or lick of vanilla in sight. The sweet cream… don’t even bother. Obviously the new owners have no idea how to create nor have a passion for ice cream. The passion of the owners used to be very evident in the product. This is null & void.

If you’re an OG Ample Hills fan, do yourself a favor and just remember the good ice cream they used to sell here. Don’t give them any of your money. Just go to food town down the street and get some Haagen Daaz. You won’t be disappointed you did.

Btw, I called the store to describe this mess. They told me it’s the delivery driver’s fault since he didn’t bring the cream directly to my house… I watched him on the map come directly to my house from the store… way to handle a customer complaint.

Came after hearing about all the drama surrounding this shop and enjoyed my salted caramel scoops

The absolute worst ice cream, ever. Sorry. Walked in yesterday and wanted to taste before I buy, but they don't let you because of Covid (as they claimed). Would have never bought it if we had a chance to taste it first. We got 2 small servings of PB with chocolate chips. Paid $10+. After first lick, we immediately threw it out into closest garbage bin, what a waste. It was just tasteless, totally watered down, just sweet greasy watery stuff. Would not return nor recommend. Do yourself a favour and walk 2 blocks down to Van Leeuwen and get some decent ice cream there. Or go to Chelsea Market for L'Arte del Gelato, which is the very best of NYC, imo.
Friendly crew in the shop tho.

The cotton candy ice cream is not what you'd expect. Hands down one of the tastiest and creamiest ice creams in all NY.

Great ice cream spot that unfortunately competes with other truly *outstanding* ice cream spots in the immediate area. This place won’t let you down if you’re craving, but their flavors don’t come through as proudly as I would like, and their product is a little too sweet (yes, I’m aware it’s ice cream but even desserts should be balanced for all the notes in the dish). When I ordered pistachio I finished my cone still wanting pistachio. When I had the caramel brittle I wanted more caramel. The milk cream base is delicious and high quality but the flavors are treated as secondary to the toppings they expect you to load up on. None of it is bad, but compared to Blue Marble or Van Leeuwen, the flavors fall just a bit short. That’s just my take, but take a short walk and try everything the neighborhood has to offer and decide for yourself!

An obviously sweet spot to grab a multitude of unique flavors in the smack dab center of Prospect Heights. A local favorite known for delivering the goods, and enough flavors to satisfy even the most peculiar sort of craving. Pints to go, merchandise for sale, and family friendly. Go off peak hours to skip the lines.

This is my family's favorite ice cream place, there are milkshakes and yummy flavors, I wish they had locations everywhere! I would highly recommend. Coffee toffee, cotton candy and peppermint patty are personal favorites.
