These places always seem understaffed but, as for my visit, you are met by courteous and helpful people who do what they can. They were waiting on a post-holiday transport of cars from Kennedy airport so didn't have my compact, but happily offered me an SUV instead. Far cheaper than Manhattan prices (a third of the price) so worth the trip.
We needed a car at 7: 30am to catch a ferry. The Avis employer didn’t arrive for over an hour so the office was open but nobody could give us a car. Avis customer service was completely useless and told us they couldn’t help. Never using Avis again - especially at this location.
TERRIBLE SERVICE! I would give 0 stars if I could. Staff is extremely mean and when I complained about our treatment I was told to put myself into that person's shoes and I don't know what they've been through in this life and not everyone is as privileged as I am. Then he proceeded to go on about how they don't make enough money. I cannot believe Avis lets their employees speak to people this way. This location should be shut down.
I ordered a Suburban but they didn't have one. So I got a Dodge Journey instead for the same price. The car was dirty and had scratches all over it. The guy who gave me the car told me that he can do nothing. I reserved the car almost a week in advance.
The worst customer service I have ever seen. Staff was extremely rude and impatient. Will never use Avis again.
I have used this location several times over the past year and have never had issues. The staff has always been really nice and have normally driven out in a better car than I reserved. It’s really small so you don’t really have the option to exchange but I think that’s why they try to get you into a better car.
Delays by agents in processing my return led to ME BEING CHARGED AN EXTRA DAY for my rental. Agent left premises to buy a snack while customers lined up. No remedy because "contract already was closed. " Car provided had not been cleaned. Avoid this branch at all costs.
Staff was away for lunch and had to wait to return the car. While most of the rentals have an hour of grace period, this location of Avis has only 29 mins and will not make an exception if you were 40 mins over. This is what I got for being an Avis Preferred member. I am looking else where next time to rent.
If I could give this location zero stars I would. Your staff is trash. I would suggest if they talk about their customers as they leave to do it so the customer doesn’t hear. I will never rent from this company again and I spent every summer renting with my family.
Picking up the car was easy enough, but returning the car was a customer service nightmare. I’d rent elsewhere if you can.
Bad service. They gave me a car without spare tire. I got a flat and been waiting for AVIS service for already 3hours!
They will charge extra fuel service fee without any notice. Be sure to remove that when returning the car.
Show up at 7: 01p for a 7: 00p réservation and the security card wouldn’t let me in. Incredibly rude and abusive about it as well. Avis personnel simply looked away as I mentioned I have a reservation. Poorest customer service I’ve seen in a while.
Horrible customer service- rude staff with no focus on customer experience. Was denied my pick because I reached 2 minutes after my reservation pick up time.
After making a reservation and getting there we are told they don't accept debit cards.waste of time
Donna, Anthony and the team went out of the way to give me a good car whereas it was one of their busiest days (Memorial Day weekend) and, although a loyal customer, I was not entitled to any special favor.
The way this place is run and staff I've experienced in the front office on the weekend can be described nothing short of horrendous. Two occasions of incredibly nasty/rude women and some sketchy behavior is enough for me NEVER to go here again.
Horrible Customer Service - They only offered a car if we pay 100$ more per day since they didn't have the rented car available. We declined so we had to wait for 1.5 hours. When we came for returning the car three days later, the employee who should be there starting 7: 00am arrived 7: 45am so we had to wait again!
Horrible service. Avis employee yelling at customers.non trained customer service. Very slow processing. Try to avoid this location at any price. This is by far the worst experience I've had in rental cars.
