Bluebird Homemade Ice Cream reviews
15Stopped by here on a Friday night. Rare to find an ice cream place nowadays where all the ice cream and cones are made in house. Charming and delicious: the Stumptown coffee ice cream was the most flavorful coffee ice cream I've ever tried! I'm not in Cross River often, but when I am, I'll be back!
Top top quality stuff. I’m 8 items into working my way through the menu and have gone 8 for 8. Coffee, Dutch Cookie, Pie a la mode, and everything else has blown my socks off. Liquid, not ice cream, Coffee is also fantastic. Black and white cookie top 5 I’ve ever had.
Very very expensive and there are no prices listed so no clue how it all breaks down. She might just be making up prices as she goes along. Servings are small based on the price as well. Good but not worth the price at all.
A very strange experience in a strip mall, next to a foot reflexology/massage parlor. Can’t enter the establishment. My sundae: $18 two scoops is ice cream, a table spoon of hot fudge, 9 peanuts, two table spoons melted whipped cream, a little brownie in a bowl from the dollar store. I would ask her for her prices before you order. They are not listed anywhere. I think it is a tax evasion scheme.
Good ice cream but very high prices. We ordered 4 ice creams — 2 scoops per person — and paid $44!
Cash only, no prices posted, slow service.
The flavors were nice and the waffle cone was fresh, but the experience made us reluctant to go back.
This little ice cream shop is the stuff of dreams! We’re talking good ol’ fashioned, delicious, homemade ice cream and waffle cones, made with love by one woman, with such fresh ingredients. Love the Dutch Cookie Delight (the speculoos flavor), the Decadence (coffee with bits of brownie), and the Grasshopper (mint ice cream with chocolate chips).
Everything is refreshing and even clean tasting, since nothing is artificial. In fact, the waffle cones are so fresh here, that they fold as you get to the bottom of the cone. So crispy and light. Can’t wait to come back this summer.
5 stars!
The best homemade coffee I have ever had made with total Stumptown coffee beans. The waffle cones are homemade as well. I highly recommend this spot when you’re in the area!
We finally pulled in to try this place as we've passed it visiting family many times. A hot sunny Sunday at 5pm and this place was completely empty. That should have been our sign to turn around. A woman sitting at the front door had the entrance blocked off and had the flavors listed on a sign out front, she said nobody can go inside and that she would take the order and bring it out. There were no prices listed anywhere, that was also odd. I order 2 scoops of ice cream and my fiance ordered a shake. After 15 minutes she comes out with 2 tiny servings of ice ream in little plastic saucers and said quote "That will be $20. " We were taken back. These were tiny servings, like a free sample at Costco size. When my fiance asked what happened with the shake the lady said she didn't know. My fiance asked her to please make the shake she ordered and the lady had the neve to say "l'll need to charge you an additional $5 for the milk if you really want me to make you the shake. " At this point I thought we were being pranked or candid camera'd. Sadly we were not. All I can advise is steer clear from this place.
$18 for a sundae.from a place in a strip mall next to a gas station. No, you are not at that 7-star hotel in Dubai ordering ice cream garnished with gold flakes, as the price might suggest.nope, you are at a dilapidated little store next to a foot massage parlor. $18 for an unremarkable couple of scoops of ice cream with some caramel on top. Astounding!
Visited Bluebird for dessert after lunch at the Muscoot Tavern and a walk through the gardens of the John Jay house. All three were wonderful and would definitely recommend! The owner is very interesting to talk with. Ice cream and homemade cakes and desserts were so, so good. She even offers vegan options! Notes: Picnic tables available outside. Inside is currently closed. She'll take your order at the door.it was cash only on the day we went (not sure if that's always the policy.) Don't go if you're in a hurry. Part of the charm of visiting this establishment is the time taken with each customer. Everything was fabulous - well worth the visit!
Awesome tasting icecream. Tasted the best berries icecream here. I would recommend a visit to the shop.
It's a cash only place thou there are ways to hack it like ATM on opposite side of road or order online and then collect it.
Delicious, unique flavors, affordable prices, and the warmth and kindness of Barbara. I always go here after a hike at Ward Pound Ridge.
The service was fast and wonderfully kind. The ice cream is homemade and delicious through and through I'll certainly be coming back if I'm even remotely in the area!
We loved this place! The owner was very sweet and the ice cream was very fresh and home made.
We came upon Blue Bird after a long, hot hike in Ward Hill Reservation and I'm so happy we did because the ice cream was absolutely creamy and delicious. I had the coffee ice cream and I could definitely taste the care and love put into my scoop. The owner was so kind and welcoming, we enjoyed our chat with her as much as the ice cream!
