Update on 1/5/2018: Now, B&C, you're down to one star from two. Why? Because your reply to my review was false. In this day and age of cell and home phone logs and date/time stamps, it is stunning that B&C would look to publicly and falsely argue the point. Way to try and transfer responsibility, B&C. My calls went to the single number that B&C publishes. When that number is called, the caller is given the option to press on to transfer and leave an emergency message. Which I did - three times on Friday night, and leaving a message each time, to no avail (despite the emergency recording stating that B&C would be paged and the call returned "in minutes"). I left another message on the regular answering machine Saturday morning. B&C did NOT return ANY of my calls until Sunday morning.

Previous Review: The only reason you see two stars instead of zero is that we'd used Bruni & Campisi before with no real issues. They are a prominent name in plumbing in our area, but also have a bit of a reputation for complacency. Our experience this weekend supports that view. Here's what happened (and as you read this, keep in mind that we had been regular B&C customers).

When a steam valve in our heating system broke during sub-freezing weather on Friday night of this New Year's weekend (involving a visit from the fire department and ConEd), we placed FOUR calls with messages to B&C (three to the emergency messaging system, and one to the regular number messaging system). Our messages went into a black hole. We eventually got a call back from them almost 36 hours after our first message, which had been left while the fire department was still here. And those messages continued through that cold night - onto a line that says "we will be paged and get back to you in minutes. " Ha. (BTW, when we eventually got a return call from B&C, 36 hours after our 1st call to them and over 24 hours after our last call, they said "We just don't know what happened to your messages. ")

This was a real problem as our boiler had been turned off by the fire department to prevent any damage, and now we were worried about pipes freezing. We spent a long night keeping the house as warm as possible (thankfully it’s a solid, wonderful old house that retains its heat well; had it been a new house, we would have had to leave).

So how did we get it fixed, over this freezing, holiday weekend? Aqueduct Services (Plumbing, Heating & Cooling) came through for us the next day, while B&C was busy not returning our calls. (Yes, the weather is cold, and many people are experiencing issues and are in need of service. But that's no excuse for not returning calls from a customer.)

Aqueduct is our new plumbing team - a team that actually seems to care, enjoy their jobs, and have respect for their company's name and reputation. Kudos to Aqueduct's owners, Daniel and Debbie, for the way they run their business.

We regularly use Bruni and Campisi, and have been very happy with them. Today Joe Diaz came to track down and repair a water leak (upstairs bathroom to downstairs ceiling), and did a great job - quickly, professionally, and economically! Very satisfied!

We recently had a new boiler installed by James and Julian and were very pleased with their workmanship. They explained everything about the system and we felt confident that we made the right choice in choosing Bruni & Campisi.

We've used B&C several times - and the only reason we've had repeat was to fix problems that they've created.but after they hung up on my wife when she called because our heat was still not working - NEVER AGAIN.

Jermaine and Aman have installed a new boiler in our home and we would like to recommend them highly to others. They were prompt, courteous, efficient, hard working, knowledgeable and neat. They cleaned up very well after the job was done. They were patient and answered all our questions. Excellent job!

Great service from Bruni & Campisi. Yanis was knowledgeable and quick. Water leak from boiler pipe. Yanis was quick in troubleshooting, repairing and pointing out potential issues and resolution. I highly recommend this company due to the great service received from Yanis.

Excellent service and response time. I had a problem with my shower and they had a plumber out to take care of it in an expedient manner and the issue was resolved in one trip. The plumber was professional and neat. I would definitely utilize their services in the future.

My circulator pump was broken and it was slightly past warranty, but B&C fixed it in a very timely manner. I have used them for at least 20 years and I recommend this company.

I have been a customer of Bruni and Campisi for more than 25 years. They have always been professional, fair in their prices, prompt when needed, especially in cold winters when my boiler stopped working, and at times on week-ends when the kids were young and cold. I recommend them highly.

I've been using Bruni & Campisi for over 25 years for work in two houses ranging from installing furnaces, central air conditioning units and water heaters to fixing leaks and running water lines (to new refrigerators) and have always been impressed by the knowledge, skill and friendliness of their employees. They may be a bit more expensive than other companies but the consistently high quality of their work, the friendliness of their service and their availability 24/7 is totally worth it.

I had a leak in the basement. B&C misdiagnosed as a water heater leaking. Shut down the water heater, but the leak still going. The same inexperienced plumber came back and decided this time it was the french drain, but does not do french drain. I called a french drain specialist who did the proper tests and said it was not the french drain, but simply did the proper tests and found it was only a an Air conditioning pipe leak, which he fixed. B&C ignore my phone calls for a refund. Expensive and incompetent!

I called for emergency repair service today. The technician, Tony, did excellent and thorough work. I appreciated the time he gave to explaining my options for repair. Over the years we have had excellent service from Bruni and Campisi with our boiler.

I recently contacted Bruni and Campisi to provide service at my elderly mother's home in Scarsdale. I was skeptical considering these reviews but we actually had a nice experience. The technician, Joe, came out the same day we made the call to service a gas furnace. He performed a thorough examination of our equipment and explained our issues in detail. Although the price was a bit higher, I felt as though we got what we paid for. I would recommend and will use them again.
