Bureau of Vital Statistics worth street, New York NY

I ordered a birth certificate four months ago, I paid for two. We have tried calling and tried emailing and they always say the same thing “we mailed it “ and every time you call They give you a different mailing date. They want me to order it and pay for it again. It’s a shame for an office so important to play so many games with peoples money specially during Covid. I thought the saying was we are in this together apparently not

They are sending me back my money sayingbI don't know how to spell my name (mother) huh? So I guess my son has to do it since he 18 now.

Some of the clerks are nice.
But remember parts of that office are still closed. So they ask you to mail, some papers back to them.

Ordered a birth certificate through Vitalchek 5 months ago, still no sign of it. Emails unanswered and now they don't even answer the phone.

UPDATE: After 7 months of waiting I received a short email canceling and voiding my request. Even though Vitalchek allows you to go through the steps and put the order through I am apparently not permitted to order a grandparent’s NYC birth certificate online. Their office is closed due to Covid so how am I supposed to obtain it? Unbelievable. No sign of my valuable paperwork being returned. Really terrible service.

I will never forget how the Security guard how kind and amazing she was. She did go way far on helping me with process and payment to get the certificate for my son. And also I forgot my Driver's license id and couldn't get any better because I put my tel number on the certificate application and lady who served me take her time to call me and let me know was closing time but that she will leave it for me with the next day working person. I couldn't have it any better. I will always remember this.

I was trying to get my birth certificate online the experiencing it was horrible and so I got to this work by. About that is open is fast and it looks clean and safe so I guess I will be going over there to get my birth certificate thank you Jesus because I was kind of scared. So I'm glad to see that somebody went there and got the paperwork and she's got out quickly and it was safe and quiet and nice that was nice to hear

They are extremely rude, disrespectful and not willing to help you. They are the worst. Very short worded and rude. Good luck

They honestly don't seem to know anything! I've been going there for years to try to correct a mistake that was made on the birth certifica & to add this guy's name on my son's birth certificate as well, everytime I go nothing is been done.
Long line, poor customer service
I was just online chatting with and agent, she told me she couldn't tell me more about my case & referred me to a site which I was not able to check my case
I'm thinking why have online operator if they can't share anything about your case you are calling

I have been waiting for my Birth certificate for over 3 months. I paid
the fee and sent in the necessary paperwork and no updates at [email protected]

The staff is very rude, not helpful at all. Have been going there for almost a year now trying to correct the birth certificate for a newborn. They don’t know what they are doing or they just don’t care to help. The line is always long and if you need to redo or change anything on the application, you go back on to the end of the line for another hour or more, just to be told that something else is wrong with your application even though it was checked and signed by the first clerk representative! Complete insanity! But we are paying taxes to cover there paychecks! Changes in this office is a must!

Nastiest people ever, they work for the city and have no clue what services are available in the city! The CSR rudely asked about eVitals and admitted she had no clue what it was about then hung up on me after I asked for her name and title. They don't deserve 1 star!

The entrance to order a birth certificate is a revolving door and your made to wait in it for your turn. After entering I witnessed several workers eating breakfast, not helping people.
On my way out I witnessed a nypd security officer tell a woman to throw her food in her bag
out or leave? The kiosk was made at wheel chair height & extremely difficult to follow through. Most people who work in this place could use some sensitivity training. If anything to remind people that the public pays their salaries, not the other way around.

These people seem to be hired to keep citizen from doing what they need. I have been there three times and every time they come up with a new requirement they didn’t tel me the day prior. It has been a nightmare. I don’t wish anyone having to deal with them.

Being that im very short the windows are alot higher so you cant hear the teller so much.boy they become so rude smh

The most unpleasant people and lack of communication, bad customer service.nothing professional and so rude. Really bad experience! In 3 different visits. They need to be trained how to provide a good customer service and friendly.

It's October 4th. It's 10: 30 am. I'm on the line outside because the line inside is over the capacity. I have a cane. The computers are down. It may take hours. I will see how long I can stand. They don't accommodate the disabled.

They never read my paperwork and always deny my me even though i am the father proven medically of my child. And my child was given no name by her drug addicted mother. Ita been 2 years and ive lawyered up

Nice employees, security was fine for me and quick because I entered on the line-less street parallel to Lafayette, which had a long line. Took 40 mins from entry to exit on a Monday morning (10: 15am). No AC and it's 90°F outside. Two fans. Not disability friendly but luckily all done on the first floor.

Offered nothing over the phone. I was married & divorced in the Bronx and no one can tell me anything over the phone. All I want is the date I was married and divorced to my first wife. They offered me nothing!

WHYYYY CAN I NOT GET IN CONTACT WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS IS CRAZY I HAVE BEEN CALLING FOR 3 DAYS STRAIGHT!
