Cornell Dairy Bar reviews
18 One of my favorite places to grab a bite and to study! Also, a wonderful place to bring visiting family/friends due to it's unique concept. It's a bit far from main campus, so it can be a long walk for older people, but having a car definitely eliminates the issue.
If you're curious, here's some fun things I've hear about the dairy bar:
1. The ice cream Cornell produces isn't technically recognized as ice cream by the FDA because the fat content is so high (that's what makes it taste so good!)
2. Cornell dairy (ice cream and milk) is served in all of the dining halls
3. Cornell dairy created Big Red Refuel - a chocolate milk with 15 grams of protein. Perfect for athlete's after practice, lifting, or competition.
4. Somewhere in Ithaca Cornell has their own cows, so everything is produced locally.
5. I've heard tours of the diary facilities are offered, but I've never gone.
6. If you take a specific food science class (I'm not sure which one), there is an ice cream flavor competition. If your team creates a winning ice cream, it will be sold at the dairy bar for a semester.
Yum. Had the Barbarian Rasberry Chocolate, in a medium with 3 large scoops, in a waffle cone. Wow was that good.
Very good ice cream! A cool rainie day but still lots of customers. Cheerful workers. We strolled past the viticulture lab in the same building.
Parking:
Right across the building ample parking. Paid during business hours. Free on weekends.
We were in Ithaca and wanted to try ice cream. Luckily it was close and we wanted to visit Cornell University as well so we have visited cornell dairy and I am glad we did because its very difficult to come by ice cream that tastes so good or GREAT. HATS off to the quality, same as gelato. I loved caramel flavor and there was something three bear with brownie and caramel. It was superb. I had to buy 2 extra bowls to take with me.
Unbelievable! Probably one of the world’s best ice cream in a school cafeteria! I think it is the product of culinary and agricultural departments of the university. It’s their own production not available anywhere else. If you are interested in ice cream, it is a must try. Very good tasting, creamy and I am sure with best ingredients and nothing else.
Great tasting ice cream. So smooth. So sweet! We all had different flavors but all were good.
So fresh made makes the difference.
I work close by on campus, so I go here almost every day! The workers are always nice and offer very quick service!
You can buy sandwiches, coffee (prepared coffee drinks and bags of ground coffee), fruit, ICE CREAM, AND MILK! Plus Cornell Dairy Bar merchandise (t-shirts, car decals, coffee cups and travel mugs, etc) all of which look super cute and high-quality.
I've never tried their ice cream but it always looks suuuuuper good. And it's REALLY popular!
They accept many forms of payment! Cash, card, meal card, p-card, etc.
Not to be missed. The ice creams and the flavors are simply amazing. They are always in rotation. Some of the texture of ice creams were incredible. Try the Ezra Coffee or the Blackberry Custard with bits of fudge. Great Food Science hall area to sit and enjoy ice cream on a hot day.
Amazing sundaes, and all things ice-cream at a reasonable price. On top of that it's just opposite the amazing (and free) cornell botanic gardens: who could say no?
Epic, huge sundae with high quality ice cream for only $5. Cornell may be expensive but this isn't!
Please update your hours on your website to reflect operating hours. Drove half an hour to visit and was closed
I am very choosy when it comes to ice creams and the ice cream here is one of the best I have had.
Great ice cream. They were super busy because it was drop off weekend, and it was still organized and everyone was so friendly.
Small and fantastic food service area. Excellent dairy products, great food and friendly staff. Definitely take the tour upstairs while you are there. Highly recommended!
Ice cream was so good, this place is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. It is on campus, so you'll need to follow their COVID-19 guidelines and wear a mask while getting your ice cream. There are lots of seats outside.
The ice cream is fresh made and just amazing. There has been a line to the door the entire visit. Must try location!
Not to be dramatic, but their Bavarian raspberry ice cream is perfection. The "kiddie" scoop was huge, so the value is also pretty stellar. If you're a nerd like me, you'll probably enjoy heading upstairs to walk along the Cornell Dairy Observation Deck.
I enjoyed it very much.
Modern and several eating options.
Plenty of I door and outdoor seating.
Large portions
