37 These thieves don’t know anything policies and laws. These thieves wanted me to pay $5k sales tax twice on a car which I already paid through dealership. Even I showed them proof of sales tax payment but counter person and her manager kept giving me wrong information and forms to fill out and pay additional $5k.
I ended up going to Schenectdy dmv and took care of the issue without a penny
Operating at more than 50% capacity, some people i walked past were frustrated because they weren't prepared. Do your research, navigate the DMV website for the papers you need. Fill out prior to coming and you'll be in and out. I did TWO activities requiring alot of paper work. I was out in 1 hour. Also, HAVE AN APPOINTMENT, MINE STARTED EXACTLY ON TIME.
Reservation system really streamlines the process. Being prepared ahead of time and making sure you read online materials thoroughly before you come down will save time.

Due to covid I couldn't surrender my old plates from a sold car to my local DMV, so with the proper form and instructions I mail them to Albany, I hear nothing back from them, I had to keep a car on the road for 3 months that I didn't even own anymore until the plates were officially turned in, I could not afford it anymore and my insurance company cancelled the insurance and then the DMV
sure knows enough to send me a threatening letter saying I can't cancel until my plates are turned in, I told them I sent them to Albany months ago they have no record of it this is not the 1st time the DMV has set me up to fail and I paid a heavy price for that mistake of thiers as well. Someone needs to be held accountable for doing this to people, especially the people that never stopped working during the pandemic to make sure the ones that chose to stay home safe had everything they needed delivered right to their door. Shame on all of you.
I've been calling for days to get information to pay a 50 dollar fee but can't get through to anyone keep getting transferred or hung up on! This is so frustrating

It’s a tough time right now for everyone. The employees at the DMV do an admirable job helping people. I don’t envy dealing with the public because everyone has a wide range of needs that do affect wait times. Please be patient with them, they’re doing their best.
Had to wait a month for my appointment. LOL, when I got there, the system was down. But it was less than an hour wait and there were not many other people waiting. I was able to get what I needed done in one trip. The staff was thorough and professional.
You know how DMV’s are known everywhere as centers of friendliness, customer service and good humor? No? Well, after going here it will FEEL like every other DMV is by comparison. To be clear, nothing happened that made my experience particularly bad. I accomplished what I came here for and the staff who assisted me upon entering the building were quite pleasant. The lady who assisted me was very nice and competent. It was the way I watched the security guards treat people. Crazy! And something should be done about it. This 1 star review is a serious call to management. Do something.
Trash.absolutely trash. Security doesn't get out of chairs to even go ask for management. Uses covid19 as an excuse to not do their jobs
Each staff member was so helpful. I arrived close to closing time, and was still greeted with patience, understanding, and support. The staff at Albany DMV transformed a frustrating task into a pleasant experience because of their professionalism, positivity, and diligence. Thank you!
Got in and out quickly. The people were very helpful. I was there 20 minutes before they opened too so didn’t have to wait inside long.
The wait is like waiting to get an oil change. They don't move fast enough considering all the people that comes in on a daily basis.
Worst place I have ever been to. Slowest people work here. Place is always filled with people. People are rude. People are clueless. Most unhelpful DMV. If you want to waste hours of your time I suggest you come.
Calls the same number 8 different times doesn't get the hint that maybe the person isn't here or already got taken care of. They dont go in order either the staff just love you disappear for half hours at a time. It's a joke good thing they're closing this one down. No issues at any other dmv. Just this one.
Everyone there who helped me—specifically, the woman who checked me in near the entrance and the agent who processed my transaction—was super nice, very helpful, and very patient with me. I arrived at 3: 34 in the afternoon and was on my way out the door at 4: 14—and they were busy! A truly good experience.
NY DMV automated system is terrible, i love how the system hangs up on you especially when you have been on the phone for 20 mins and you make a selection and it hangs up. Cant make this process any harder!
This place sucks. There are 18 booth's and only 6 of them are being used and at times 2. I've already been here for over 2hours and have not yet been seen. Please be more organized. Please hire people to work
Had a great experience here renewing my driver's license. Friendly & helpful staff even though I arrived close to closing time. Staff was still there at 4: 30, half an hour after closing, making sure that everyone with a ticket got seen. Kudos!
