DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel New York Times Square West reviews
31I had a great experience staying at this hotel. The room was very clean and quiet, and the front desk service was great. I would highly recommend this for people traveling with small dogs, there is a pet deposit but no additional fee, and everything felt very clearly communicated to me.
Inadequate staffing has led to subpar services inconsistent with the Hilton brand. Be aware that the location is approximately 4 blocks from Times Square, across the street from the Port Authority and next to a homeless shelter. It was very sketchy during the evening and night hours. Be careful and reconsider your lodging options if traveling alone or considering evening entertainments.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location, don't expect other than that. Only 1 receptionist working with a long queue that is moving slow. The AC would not cool at all, we complained many times and the technician would come to "reset" it and the result is the same! One more thing, ask the receptionist for some cookies.
Rooms were dirty. If you’re coming from out of town this is not a safe place to stay although it’s close to times square
Terrible place. You don't get for what you pay for. Paid extra for a premium room and got the worst. Tv does not work. People can't get in their rooms because they key doesn't work. Staff is not helpful. Huge line just to be able to talk to someone. Don't come here.
Friendly staff, very clean modern room, great tv, comfy bed, short walk to time square. Was given a card with complimentary Wi-Fi access which did not work which is dissapointing hence the 4 star rating. Small fridge in room was nice, and outside noise on the 11th floor wasn't bad.
Worst experience we’ve EVER had with a hotel. Reported our AC wasn’t working twice. The maintenance person came down with us to the front desk the second time and said it couldn’t be fixed. So they gave us a different room. Between the 2 trips to move our luggage to the other room, they gave our new room away AND blamed us. Unbelievable! Unacceptable! DO NOT STAY HERE!
Attached is my view from 35th floor. Unfortunately not a panorama shoot but I got pretty much what I wanted. A very nice view. Even better from their 37th floor rooftop bar. Prices there are totally ok for NYC and lower than I would have expected.
This hotel is amazing, it seems always busy however the service was great.
Our room was clean, room service was ok. We enjoyed our stay.
Rooms were small but nice/ The Lobby is very small and the elevators are HORRIBLE. If you are in town on an off time it might be ok, if it is a busy time look elsewhere.
Elevators at this hotel are horribly slow and inefficient, and it took me 20 minutes to get to my floor. I will not be staying at this hotel again.
View from 20th floor west-facing room. Currently under MAJOR renovation. Pretty messy front area due to reno.
The location was great however they have no understanding of customer service. I selected the wrong date and immediately called I done with two Representatives who said it would be no problem switching I would just need to go through Priceline. I teach out to Priceline they said it would also be no problem and they would send an email in the morning. The next morning I wake up to them trusting to switch my room and saying I would still be charged if I don't show. I then speak with Priceline again who said the hotel was teasing to switch 2 hours and after getting hung up on multiple times I finally found a hotel representative willing to help me switch but only for a fee of $70. Terrible experience for someone out of town and I plan to leave a review any and everywhere that reflects that.
It was very luxurious but, the room was very small and I had a family of 4 and our room had 2 beds and the beds were incredibly small so it was cramped in the room. But apart from that, it is a very nice resort. It is also conveniently located near the port authority as Times Square.
Unfortunately when we walked in the room we could smell a hint of cigarette smoke. We called the front desk and were told someone would be right up to address it. No one ever came up. The shower door doesn't close and there were huge puddles of water to clean up after our showers. In room coffee pot was broken and replaced upon request. House keeping however did not replenish the coffee. That was provided after requesting it. The elevators are very very slow. Definitely not the experience we expected of a Hilton property.
Good price and walking distance to almost everything.times square is just a street over and the subway is a few feet from the entrance! Rooms are fine but it is reasonably priced.didn't really come to new york to lounge around the room anyway
Very small rooms which is to be expected in Manhattan, but with so much to see in the city it really doesn't matter. Very attentive and helpful staff. Very clean and free cookies!
Absolutely 'spot on' Times Square so you cannot imagine a better location, and acoustics are great because you don't hear it and get a good night's rest. Staff is really friendly but the large rooms are really tired and could do with an upgrade.
Roof top plays loud music and top 5-7 (any floor above 30th) can feel the bass of the music until 3: 30 am on weekend.
Staying in the hotel for business conference this week. Not a great hotel. My room smelled like cigarettes, the stuff is not that nice and the rooms are too close to one another and the elevators, so you hear every door that slammed shut. Kept me up most of the night. Overall not a great experience. Won’t be coming back.
