I saw the bad reviews and was hoping they were wrong. I gave it a chance and went in looking to get new glasses. I was turned away by the costumer service representative as soon as I tried to ask for help. I expressed that I'd like to use my insurance benefits and she said I had to call to make sure it was acceptable. I'd been to a Visionworks center before and knew what my planned offered but did not get a sentence out before she said she could not help and I had to call. She didn't tell me who I was suppose to call, if it was my insurance or a Visionworks representative or give any direction on what to do. She was simply rude and dismissed me out of the store saying there was nothing she could do for me. I went back to my car and just sat there thinking how much time it took to drive there (not actually that long) compared to the minute of disrespectful service I had received in the minute I was in there. I ended up going to The Visionworks in Albany, where they greeted me kindly and helped me get my glasses under my insurance plan (which they called and looked up for me).

The employees were kind, but not very helpful. The selection of frames at this location is the worst I have ever seen. They were supposed to call when my glasses were ready, but after 2 weeks of radio silence I had to call myself, and after a dozen or so rings on my third call someone finally answered and said I could come in and pick up my glasses. I won't return.

Had an excellent experience; the staff were courteous and knowledgeable. I am very pleased with the glasses I purchased.

The staff definitely doesn’t put the customers first. A fast food resultant gives better service then this place does. They lost my business.

I could not disagree more with all the negative or mediocre reviews. I work for the NYS Court system and my wife and I have been using the East Greenbush store for years. Everyone is terrific.
Sarah, Jamie and Jessica are always friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and very efficient. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my vision needs as I receive great care here time after time.

I have used this office for the last ten years. They used to be helpful and friendly but that has changed over the past few years. Yesterday was the last straw. Every single person. I spoke with was unfriendly and unhelpful. I ended up leaving without new glasses and will be going elsewhere in yhe future.

I am not normally one to leave reviews on the internet but Visionworks is by far the worst eye care business I have been to. The actual eye doctors themselves are very nice, however their customer service is absolutely horrible. They are extremely unhelpful and very rude. I tried to order contacts through 1-800 Contacts and when they called to verify my prescription they hung up on them 10 times and refused to authorize the prescription even though I have been ordering this same brand of contacts for 5 years now. They were zero help when I called them to discuss my options and were extremely rude. I would suggest going anywhere else but here. I've never been treated so poorly before at any business. It's unacceptable.

I went to get my prescription information for my contacts. They said it was expired, which is fine and all, but the woman proceeded to write in big letters on the print out "EXPIRED DO NOT FILL". It's like ok, I get it, but do you really have to be a bitch about it.

Every time I go here it seems to be an unpleasant experience no matter what. I stopped in recently to have an eye exam and get more contacts. The doctor barely examined my eyes at all before deciding on my new perscription but I thought, "eh, they know better than I do. " When one of the staff members gave me a trial pair of new contact lenses they were the same perscription for both eyes (my right eye has always had a stronger perscription my whole life and with my contacts out it's very evident my left eye is better than my right). I mentioned this to her but she brushed it off so I went with it and put in my contacts and immediately knew they weren't right. Fast forward 5 hours I go back and tell this very condescending man at the desk that my right eye needs a stronger perscription and he went on this huge spiel about how my brain needed time to adjust and the doctor would not change anything until I waited a few days to "adjust. " Despite my best efforts to explain that my eyes always have different prescriptions and the contacts I have in now make me feel cross eyed. So now I've been wearing these lenses for a couple days and nothing has changed, they give me head aches and I'm just waiting until tomorrow to call back so I can't tell them the same thing I did the other day and they will have to reorder new contacts. All in all rude staff and is taking way too long just to order contacts. This is not at all our first bad expierence here either, but after this we will not be returning.

I have purchased my last 3 sets of glasses from this store. It is convenient to my house. I do usually have to wait, and the last pair I purchase I paid for the extra no glare, scratch resistant lenses. I went back after less than 6 months because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't bet a mark off the glasses, come to find out the coating was coming off, they replaced the lenses at no charge. I went recently because the same glasses were scratched, and again, the lenses are being replaced at no charge since i haven't owned them for even a year. My previous glasses had no issues, and I used them for 2 years, and they are my back up pair. I gave them 3 based on wait times, and the defect glasses this time, but they really aren't too bad.

Ok so I'm going to start off with the staff is not to friendly as soon as I got there no hi, hello, how are you doing just fill out this paper and bring it back up to the counter. As we were sitting there filling out paperwork I over hear an older lady witch was also a customer the one staff lady told her that she wouldn't tighten the screw to her glasses because she didn't want to break them hmmm yes witch got me thinking how do you work in a glasses place and not know how to tighten the screws to them. Customer left disappointed and the staff member at the desk just had this little smirk on her face no I'm sorry we can't help you or nothing. Then I get called in for my eye exam the guy was friendly as I was sitting in the chair getting my eyes looked at by him with the tiny light they shine in ur eyes he was right up in my face I could feel his hand brush my cheek and he was pretty much breathing on me it was the most uncomfortable thing ever. After that he said I was all good to go and will have someone help with picking glasses the lady came over to me and all she said was look at the decoy glasses didn't say witch ones or where just walked away so I asked for help from someone else working there and she was more specific. Picked out my glasses and then the eye examiner told me I was good to go and that I could pick my glasses up around 5. So I go up to the desk before I leave and ask if there is anything that I need for when I come back to pick them up and this lady says to me just your head and walks away. Im sorry I do not and will not recommend anyone to go here they have poor customer service manners and are just very unfriendly.

Very poor customer service. Waited 20 minutes and had people come in after I did and get helped before I was. They just like to waste everyone's time. Very unfriendly staff extremely unhelpful.

If you want the best time picking out glasses, go see the manager, Sarah. Yes, it's a busy office, yes you might have to wait, but she makes it worth the wait. I normally just get what is covered under my insurance, which is very basic glasses. She explained all the options I can upgrade to, and now I have several pairs of glasses I actually enjoy wearing. Kudos to her and her staff.

I have been trying to call E ' Greenbush store for 45 minutes. I finally get through and "Brittany" answers, "This is Brittany, Can I make an appointment? " I said 'good morning' introduced myself and politely asked if I could ask a question. "Uhhhh-yeah". I asked about my glasses. They are ready. When I asked for a good time to pick them up she said, "Oh, any time " I said but this phone call took 45 minutes. She said, "well, it's Monday and we are a little understaffed ". I told her that was an abject discrepancy to their time "graph". I wish I had another option but this is my insurance. Not professional. Barely polite. If you have another choice, take it.
