Guilderland Travel Plaza reviews
27My go to place to stop on the way to Maine every summer. There are moderately sized bathrooms and a McDonalds, as well as a pretty outside seating area.
We only stopped here to use the restroom, (it was around 5: 30pm on a Monday) but when you walked it inside it was just very sad. The gift shop was closed, they only have two places to get food (McDonald's and a pizza place (which from what I could tell was not even open) and the bathroom was disappointing. Half the soap dispensers did not have soap, the toilets were somewhat clean and overall it was not very appealing.
F'in joke. All these places to stop, but no one has coffee. Only option is the worse fast food chain in the world.totally disgusting.
When I drove for Crete Carrier Corporation in 2017 I had maybe 2-3 times I spent the night at Guilderland Service Plaza and it was a great experience. The staff is really nice and the entire facility is clean. I sure had good memories there. But I haven't been there in almost 4 years since I no longer drive over the road.
Pretty nice place to stop and stretch ones legs. Not a lot of amenities or selections due to Covid-19. Will stop here again.
Clean and had a bathroom. I don't bother with the food options as I'm usually passing through in the off-hours when nothing is open, and I get food before getting on the Thruway, but I'm sure it's fine. Took one star off because there is a travel plaza a stop or two before it that has a super comfy trucker lounge area that is way more comfortable to hang out for a stretch break without having to keep too close of an eye on the young kids since there it a door.
I like stop before going into Albany or Mass. There are vendors there with some home made goodies or veggies.
On my way to pick up treats from Massachusetts it's a great rest area to get your barrings together.
Good place to stop and stretch out on a long car ride. They have food restrooms and a little store too
Bathrooms were okay when I visited. Large lobby/ sitting area. Usually lots of truck parking. The McDonald’s blows. Ordered a quarter pounder with cheese and bacon meal. Cost $12 plus tax. The fries were good. Hot and fresh. The burger was lopsided, cold, and had stale bread. Tasted gross but I ate it anyways. To busy to go back in and return it and ask for a better one. Pretty typical these days. Not sure what’s going on with McDonald’s but most the workers can’t seem to stack a burger nicely. If I had to do again I would save my money. Lady manager was friendly.
The worst pizza I have eaten if you are not going to have fresh pizza in the afternoon better close the business early. I paid 10.78 for 2 slices of cold old pizza, they should change this pizeria for a Sbarro
Amazing how cell service is good on the interstate but as soon as you pull into the service plaza, nothing.
Not the cleanest rest stop, but okay. They have a McDonalds, convenience store, and gas station. It is usually busy, but there aren't many options here.
Unannounced man in the women's restroom doing maintenance work? !? ! Maybe, he did announce his entrance, but it wasn't in English and the women didn't have time to finish & leave. Upon leaving the restroom, there was a huge sign blocking the entrance that read: Male cleaning restroom, use unisex restroom. Would have been nice if it was there after the women had left.
Had to find a bathroom stall that had TP. McDonald's messed up order, and a hair was found in my burger and I threw away half of it.
Good truck parking. McDonald's workers here are useless, made every excuse as to why they didn't want to fix my order, from fry oil isn't hot, chicken sandwich wouldn't be fixed because it was gettin close to breakfast time. I walked out, glad I keep canned food in my rig.
Way to pricy! I get the fact it's probably got a contract where the state gets a percentage of the sale. $11 extra value meal may be a little too much for McDonald's.
Restroom is dirty and McD isnt 24h. 1: 21am, 'we only do drinks right now' but they were sure eating when i got there.
The bathrooms and the eating are were filthy. The food was extremely over priced. The only good thing about this place was the location but I will never stop here again
Does the trick for a place to stop, but annoying that prices are higher at rest stop than at local restaurants.
