HRA Men's Shelter reviews
26The worst place ever I seen a mouse running around freely. Also they claim They work in human services but the attitude is more of I'm better than you. The they a slew of DHS peace officers officers working their that act more like gang members
The female guards. Got me good took my Leatherman with a pouch in a flashlight and some tool adapters in bits. Told me I could get it back when I left. And all my stuff disappeared. I went to leave in the mail go to look in the couldn't find it I guess they got me good it was over $300 worth of stuff. Other than that bad experience the rest of it was not so bad
I'm grateful for the 3 hots and a cot. I have a decent counselor here. But the rampant drug use is outta control.
Men's shelter but also Adult Family Intake Center (AFIC). AFIC is for married families with no kids. Security check is pretty much laughable; sometimes like TSA, sometimes like Rikers' Island. Some of the workers work as slowly as humanly possible. Then when you do get a worker to hear your case, HAVE YOUR STORIES STRAIGHT, PROFESSIONAL AND PROVABLE! If it's not in writing, don't bother saying it! DHS lawyers are not dumb and will check your story out. 75% of the workers really could care less if they help you or not, the other 25% are in a rush to leave. Be ready to witness a waste of municipal resources wasted on the salaries of these "civil servants" that aren't very "civil" and don't like to "serve"!
Better than sleeeping outside on the street just don't allow yourself to get to dam comfortable while you are here
I'm from Maine, I've been here for a week it's a great place, your counselor work with you on anything your needs are.overall I give 5 Stars.
