Irving Plaza reviews
39Love this venue for concerts, but it is general admission, and it gets crowded. Get a good spot early. Vigilant staff enforce rules. Nightclub atmosphere.
Adequate concert hall, prices are high for literally everything there so I'm lowering to 4 stars but it's decent in every other way
Terrible acoustics and fast lane service is a waste. Makes you wait with the same group anyways once you’re in the building. Awfully organized and then complains about people pushing when they set it up that way. 2 stars for tom odell but 0 for the venue. I’ve sold my tickets to any concerts i had with this place.
The venue is great itself. I been coming here 25 years. The staff can be a little pushy and really rude to get you out after the show. I was buying merch after the Candlebox show on April 27th 2019 and my friend was just standing against a wall waiting for me and a staff member shouted at her rudely: "hello? ! If you aren't buying anything you have to leave now! " to which she told him she was waiting for me to pay and he didn't apologize but just walked away shaking his head. Maybe check the mental health of those you employ.
We got here 5 hours prior to the concert we were attending. We knew that there was a fast lane ahead of us, fine. But then they sold “VIP” tickets to the rest of the line for $40+ a person and then we were kicked all the way to the back. After waiting foreverrrrrr. Screw this place, the venue needs to do a better job at pleasing their customers. Just wow.
Good venue but wish they had seating options. Would gladly pay a little extra to have a reserved seat on the balcony. Seems like a missed opportunity with half the balcony roped off every show.
IHOP's cuisine is good, but they're kind of expensive. The last time I ate there, I had a cheese burger platter; after consuming the meal I felt I could done better going to Wendy's for a Triple Baconator, with medium fries and strawberry lemonade.
In my opinion, better, and cheaper, and you don't have tip for service.
That's why I only gave 3 stars.
Fantastic venue! Small, intimate, great for all genres of music. I've been going to Irving Plaza for at least 20 years and have never been disappointed.
So some girl came around asking people if they wanna pay an extra 40$ for a balcony seat that came with 2 beer tickets.
Worst seat ever. Worst venue iv ever been to.
However security and personal were all very nice and helpful.
A legendary venue in New York at a time when many treasured gathering places have been lost. It certainly isn't the best or the biggest space, but it's worth coming to see a show here all the same.
One of the best venues in NYC. The lines can get long but the staff are friendly, and moves fans quickly. In addition, Nicole, the box office lady, was so kind enough to wish me a happy birthday when they had a show of Kate Nash, and I thanked her enough for that. They have some good shows there, and will continue to attend for the next few months. Highly recommended.
Pretty cool venue, I was in the upper deck and had a great view. Staff was very nice, loved how the walls shake in the venue during performances!
Iconic music hall, a great place to see a band. The staff was nice, sound was good, and there is not a bad vantage point in the house.
I don't like the setting. You have to stand up throughout the concert, not everyone can see and security is horrible. Security is not compromising allowing people to miss out the entire show. Never again
Still a classic venue after all these decades. If there's a band you like, see them there. With so many old venues gone, Irving Plaza is a survivor.
Very small for a concert hall. Only seating upstairs and only a few at that. Security wasn't rude though and the lighting was intimate.
Love this place. Great shows, the air conditioning is second to none and the drinks are moderately priced.
Great small venue with good security and sound. Only thing I don’t agree with is the mandated coat check for backpacks if they’ve been searched and are not a safety hazard. Other than that, great venue.
I had a great concert experience. I stayed towards the bar in the back and was able to still see the stage perfectly. Great venue!
Super funky and cool lil spot. Rated 4 instead of 5 because it can get really hot in the summer.how does this space not have air conditioning?
