Kusina Pinoy Bistro, Queens NY

I have given Kusina multiple opportunities but I have reached my final straw with them.

As some others have experienced, on Friday nights they book a band and Kusina will charge you extra for the presence of the band, regardless if you cared for them or not. Please make sure you read your receipts because they do charge you unnecessarily sometimes. I remember being given caution before but it is sad to see others aren’t forewarned and get surprised by the upcharge in their bill.

Also yes, it gets VERY loud. In fact, my dad decided to step out for a bit because it was a little too loud and was rudely questioned and scolded by a “security guard” who gave him a difficult time letting him back in. It’s not Beyoncé on stage, I don’t understand why paying customers need to be berated going back in to continue eating their food.

If it gets really busy, the quality of their food declines. From our experience, the calamare gigantes was our favorite but it comes out to the table and the fried batter just falls off the whole thing, soaked in oil, and soggy.

I also ordered delivery here and they literally sent a stale trio sampler dessert. It looked like they had these desserts in the fridge, dry up for days, and they still thought it was appropriate to send to a customer. The pictures that I posted are what I got in the restaurant PRE-pandemic and what I received for delivery recently. I didn’t expect presentations to match, obviously, but still the quality of the food was not up to par and not even edible. The flan was a rock.

I am just severely disappointed - on multiple occasions.
