Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza reviews
28Great views and great security. Okay customer service and the hotel definitely needs some things replaced. Overall, good experience though.
An absolutely unaccommodating hotel. Even the most simple requests were met with, “sorry we don’t do that”. Things like storing your baggage while you wait for your room to be readied, the lobby gift shop is closed, no room cleaning, and no early Check out until you vacate the room. Of course everything was blamed on covid. However, it’s been days since NYC stopped requiring indoor masking. Also, it’s impossible to hear the front desk through their masks and the thick plexiglass that they have between you. No effort to be heard was made when I asked them to speak louder. Blank stares…
In the age of COVID 19 in which the world is looking to perform normal functions remotely. I was impressed with the lack of sympathy and customer service this hotel's management displayed. We are a company located in California with some business to perform in New York. Our administrator who typically takes care of booking employee hotel stays was out this week, due to COVID concerns. I did my best to substitute her duties and ended up booking with Millennium One Plaza through Orbitz/Expedia as they could not locate our corporate account although we have had employees staying there for the last few months. Tom C the hotel manager and the finance manager did their best to offer us the opposite of customer service in not allowing a charge to our corporate card, insisting that the card had to be present to charge incidentals, because the reservation had been made through Orbitz/Expedia. You took the full amount of the room reservations remotely but not incidentals? You allow a remote charge for a corporate account but not for an account through a third party? This seems like an elitist, discriminatory policy. A charge is a charge.why make a distinction between a third party and a corporate account? The rooms were paid for in advance, why give our employees the inconvenience and hassle of not allowing a charge direct to our corporate card?
So I asked the finance manager to send me the required documents to set-up a corporate account, and suddenly I am being dissuaded from doing so because another (disconnected and foreign?) department takes care of this, Hilton would have to approve, (maybe it would take too long, maybe we would not qualify) etc. Wow! Group think at its worst.
Our employees should not have been inconvenienced because Tom and his finance manager lack the analytical and customer service attitude it takes to stay competitive. We wonder how or why many jobs will be replaced by artificial intelligence in the near future. This ineptitude is part of the reason.
Clean, comfortable and well appointed room. Will be making this a regular stay for work travel.
Horrible experience and maybe things will get better once the city opens up. It's a shame because the hotel is located in a nice quiet area that is perfect for families and kids.
A dated hotel with potential to be better. The room had an amazing view. The mattress was lumpy, the sheets & towels threadbare and course. The door was missing its gap linings and I could hear everything happening in the halls and see plenty of light. They don’t clean the room during your stay and apparently not the lobby either. The rate and the view made this place tolerable.
Stayed at the hotel for my 1 year anniversary and we were not disappointed at all. Stayed in a deluxe queen room. Room was beautiful. The view out over the river was amazing. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly.
An eclectic hotel that has luxury features mixed with 1-star in incompetence. It could be much nicer with proper investment in people and infrastructure.but isn't that the story of America.
Stayed here on July 4th, and let me tell you, what a view! The room on the 36th floor had a perfect view of the fireworks, and the people watching from all the way down in front of the water looked like cockroaches. The bathrooms were clean and the complimentary breakfast was the best complimentary breakfast I ever had ever. Would stay again!
The rooms have been recently renovated and are nice though my non-smoking room had clearly been smoked in. The views are very nice and the complementary drink is a plus. The lobby and sitting areas around it are always crowded and sometimes the elevator is complicated-especially if there's an event on the second floor. Overall not bad and a good price at 228/night
Beautiful area with a large majority of the missions surrounding the Secretariat. Onice inside, the view is breathtaking.
Great experience overall! I mean the view was breathtaking, the staff were really sweet and polite and the breakfast was pretty good! I’m definitely going back there.
The best Hotel, the attention is amazing and the rooms too and very clean.
El mejor Hotel, la atención es increíble, las habitaciones tambie y es muy limpio.
This hotel is really good and, especially, the room is very specious and beds are clean and comfort. Nice hotel and great view from the room to the river!
A wonderful hotel. Great room setup in the corner king room. Great view of the River on one side and the empire State building on the other. Room very clean. A decent walk to the nearest subway at Grand Central but not too bad. Worst thing is the incredibly slow elevators which take forever to arrive and can be busy. Otherwise great hotel.
Bad overall experience, the only redeeming quality is the view if I could give 0 stars I would. Worst customer service i have ever experienced anywhere.
Horrible customer service, shower head did not work in supposedly updated rooms. Went to drink coffee to see dirty crusty mugs in our room. Plus four days after check out I'm getting random charges from the hotel. I would strongly advise anybody looking for a hotel to look elsewhere
A wonderful place! Welcoming, warm and very clean, this is the hotel of choice for a stay in New York
The place is sleek n very nice, clean, awesome view and big rooms. But the drawback we had was the bathtub had standing water during use. The water would not not drain. We did call maintenance to have it looked at. They came but we were still in the room. They said they will come back later after we leave. When we returned that evening we checked and it was not fixed. I'd like to give this place 5 stars but unfortunately they failed to fix the bath tub.
Good room deal's, nice people, but everything.and I mean EVERYTHING else is very expensive. Beautiful views, our room was nice. The views out of our rooms window would have been much nicer if it were clean. Also, the room itself, while very nice, was not cleaned very well, I ended up cleaning it myself. Not cool.
