Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza reviews
28My favorite NYC hotel, my wife & I stay here regularly. The rooms are imaculate, the staff is excellent, and our stay is always a pleasure.
The rooms are spacious and the amenities inside are sufficient. However, the lounge where they serve breakfast is small and thus, always full. The food there is very limited and when they run out, even during breakfast hours, they won't be able to refill anymore. The lobby is also rather small so it's hard to find a seat if you need to stay there for a few minutes.
The hotel was nice and had a great view, but there was a room charge for each day, which they said I will get back when I leave but I didnt
Very nice hotel-this will be my go-to for New York. Bar is ridiculously expensive, though, so go elsewhere for drinks. I recommend Barnacho, just down the street.
Absolutely loved this place!
Okay so it's located close to the UN building so you might think "it's just a work hotel". But it's not. It's so much more. We had a suite on the 33rd floor, had stunning views over the river and it was nice and quiet. It's also closer than you think to Times Square, Broadway & Central Park so it's possible to see all the tourist things easily. I'd definitely consider coming back here in the future!
Clean, staff worked with us on early check in as Honor members. We had a gorgeous view on the corner on 32nd. My only complaint is the sky lounge breakfast was not good and was the same every day. So we just found some dinners the next 3 days. But the waitors were kind and hard working. And the most beautiful view in the sky lounge! Room service is quick and maids change sheets, vacuum, clean and refresh necessities daily.
This place gets 2 stars from me. Hotel, I liked to be honest. For the money the room was clean, tidy and of a decent size. A nice bathroom and a lovely view over the East River and downtown Manhattan. Staff were very nice and helpful. I would say if your in NYC for leisure purposes then you’re probably better off picking a hotel somewhere between Lexington and 7th Avenues. The MTA system in New York hasn’t quite worked out that sometimes people don’t want to always walk or take a cab from west to east or vice versa. Grand central station is relatively close by but it does get a little tiresome after a long days trek not having the option of at least a bus that runs across the island rather than just up and down it.
So why 2 stars you ask?
On arrival I paid for my 4 nights stay as per the booking and then a further refundable $200 security deposit. No problem with that. Didn’t expect to trash the room so knew my money was good. Checked out and then saw the payment pending on my account for a few days after. A few more days pass and I wake up to find that The Millenium Hilton had taken the payment not once, not twice, but four times over for the stay. In sterling £1900 odd had been requested and taken from my U. K.bank account for a booking that was only due to cost me £430. My bank eventually reversed the transactions after spending nearly an hour on the phone to them. Not happy!
And $9.95 a day for WiFi that actually works?
Come on! Most of your lesser rated competitors throw that in for free. Get with the times on that one please.
Terrific Hilton property, located right across the street from the United Nations (and very close to other Manhattan attractions). Friendly staff, willing to accommodate my special requests (Not including the bellhops except 2. Forgot their names, but they are not there nights or weekends, so you'll notice the difference in treatment. Those 2 are great). Great views. Nice rooms. Only downsides were the parking (My Chevy Malibu rental was charged as an "oversized vehicle" base rate of $80/nite.), and the common area carpets could use cleaning. Still, I would recommend this location.
