Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream reviews
17 Edit: service has improved over time, so I’ve increased the star ranking. Durian banana is still the best flavor and worth the wait.

Original review: Great flavors, beyond horrible service. Servers and managers often rude and lazy. It’s infuriating. But if you go, try the durian banana.
Delicious! Got a chocolate shake that was very rich. Giving 4 stars because it cost $14 which was pretty pricey and there was no where to sit
It is a tourist place because of the price of ice cream, the service should be spectacular, however they do not feel like working and they do not have a bathroom for those who consume it. The rule is that a place that offers food service must have a bathroom for those who consume it.
Fantastic and novel ice cream. The bad reviews are from people who aren’t used to getting yelled at for slowing the line, welcome to NY - part of the experience.
If you like waiting in line for ice cream that tastes like it was made with powdered milk, this is your spot:)
I loved this place for a long time but i will never return. Ice cream is good but service is horrible.
Hands down to the best combination of flavor ever. I’m stuck with the salted caramel pretzel. My #1 ice cream in NY. It’s crunchy, salty, and sweet.
Run! Don’t walk!
There wasn't anyone there when we showed up so we got our ice cream quick and it was tasty! The ice cream was a little more icey than I am used to but the flavors were so good!
My recent visit to Morgenstern's was an absolute delight. Their ice cream selection, featuring both classic and exotic flavors, left a lasting impression. The exceptional quality of their ice cream is a testament to the premium ingredients and skill invested in every batch.
The friendly and helpful staff added to the overall experience. Plus, their pricing is very reasonable given the premium quality. Morgenstern's is a must-visit for ice cream enthusiasts, whether you're indulging yourself or celebrating a special occasion. Don't miss the opportunity to savor these delectable delights at this charming ice cream store!
One of the best ice creams of my life. They have such peculiar flavors that the decision will be difficult for you. The smoothies are also spectacular. The place is beautiful. Without a doubt, the best sweets you will eat in NYC.
Complaining
02 ice cream and tip 16 dollars!
There is no bathroom for customers!
Sorry! If I knew zero tip and would go elsewhere!
You were better once!
They call themself finest ice cream but do have the worst ever service. Staff were talking together ignoring us, we wait 5minutes then we finally left with a bad experience.
Maybe best ice cream in the city but boy were they understaffed when I was there. 2 people in the store processing 25 customers these folks some help!
Bought a pint at the morganstern store, obviously melted and refrozen at least once, total disappointment. Might as well goto the supermarket, same disappointment at half the price
The creamiest ice cream i have had, and trust me, i’ve had a lot of ice cream in my life! Delicious!
Staff a bit slow, but hey, it’s the weekend!
The ice cream is not good. It’s not creamy, actually tastes like there’s not enough milk/cream in it. The flavor balance is off, either not sweet enough or too salty. Disappointed, all hype.
Great ice cream, but quite literally the worst customer service experience in my life. Today my aunt waited in the incredibly long line for this icecream and the two seemingly dazed register employees told my aunt to move past them and place her order where the icecream scoopers were making their orders. We stand there waiting to be helped for about 10 minutes and then we are half yelled at by one of the scoopers that “he is just the scooper, and they don’t take orders here. We are supposed to go to the back of the line and wait. ” We explained to him that they sent us there and he said “well there’s nothing I can do, go in the back and wait. ” My aunt didn’t want to start anything so we just went back in line. We got our ice cream and everything was fine, aside from the fact that the whole excursion wasted an extra 20 minutes of our time. However I came back in and asked the front for some to-go cups for liquids as my aunt and I were trying to pour water from a bottle for our friends. The employ at the front, the one with a dangling earring in his right ear, said “oh we don’t have those. ” However you guys sell iced coffee so I knew he was lying. I looked just over his shoulder and they were there. I pointed at the cups and said “they’re right there. ” He then looked at me and said “well they’re close to me so…” I said “alright” and asked someone else. Everytime I’ve been to morgansterns I’ve had a terrible experience with the employees. And listen, I’ve worked in gelato, I get it can be stressful, but I have never once taken it out on customers. It’s unacceptable. The company really needs to reconsider who they hire.
