It says on the website free check engine car diagnostics. I show up and the mechanic tells me i have to pay $100 and leave my car. Either they r ripping people off or dont know their own policy

Don't expect the staff to be knowledgeable. A good place to buy parts. I've made the mistake of trusting their service team too many times for it to be a coincidence. In my experience with them their trend is to create new problems and damage to my vehicle as a free service. Plus it's hard to get them to admit any fault as their own. The wait times are also and proportionate to the work being done. I only trust them for great readily available parts, an oil change or new tires. They even managed to damage and strip the wires coming from my under the hood fuse panel causing a short, changing my battery. Parts, oil, tires. That's about it pepboys.

Good place. THey have everything for your car. But the customer service some times can be horrible.

Waste of time going there. Extremely slow half ass service. I know they get paid next to nothing there so can't expect much.

Workers here to hang out, not help. Don't know a whole lot TO help. I have boycotted ever since treated like garbage because I was a female.
