Polar Bear Homemade Ice Cream & More, Oneonta NY

First time visiting, SUPER! We had heard their good representation for a while, and finally came for a date. The people are friendly, not just ice cream is homemade, but pizza too, by the owner! Fresh fried chicken tender, juicy and tasty. We also brought home some ice cream sandwiches. The whole place maintains very well. Great for families, events, etc.

There is a 45 mins short trail - Emmons Pond Bog Trail, only 6 mins away from it. Great activity combination!

Love this place! They have the best ice cream and the atmosphere is so fun! Definitely a destination spot!

Love the ice cream and also the food. Great seating both inside and outdoors. The family always wants to stop when we pass by.

I don't like to post negative reviews of local businesses, but the best I can say about Polar Bear is that the staff are the best: patient, polite, efficient.
The menu is extremely limited, burgers, hot dogs and fried chicken. The fries were plentiful, but not crisp and too greasy. The top of my Burger bun had a stale, hard section which was a turnoff.
One of the decorations on the wall is the section of the back of a school bus with the flashing red lights. Unfortunately the clicking of the light timer was not in tune with any of the music. The music was not to my taste either. A bunch of Frank Sanatra and oldies that you aren't likely to hear anywhere else.
The grasshopper ice cream which I had in a cup was ok. But for some reason, the better-half wasn't as thrilled with her soft serve cone as she expected to be.
We dropped thirty-five dollars for a filling but not thrilling dinner, but at least we finally tried the place. We thought about stopping every tome we go to Oneonta. Now we can forget about it.

This place is incredible! Their homemade ice cream was great as well as their pizza. They also do deep fried fair foods (Oreos, cheesecake on a stick). They also offer the basics like cheeseburger with fries but there's alot on their menu. The atmosphere is great too, it reminds you of an old style ice cream parlour with great seating indoors and outdoors with the view a of a nice little pond. It's a great little hidden gem that I've driven by for years and never thought anything of it.now I'm kicking myself for never stopping.

Food was over priced and not good. For a large and medium sunday the kid charged me 25$ definitely something not right. Needless to say that I won't be returning

Yummy food and even better ice cream. The kids and wife love it. Fun atmosphere and reasonably priced.

Very scenic, ate lunch there this past weekend.burger, fries, and iced tea. Burger was ordinary (patty, not made in house), iced tea was less than desirable (Very little "tea taste", water taste.yes) BUT.the fries were great and plentiful!

Best ice cream ever. Seriously. Try the 32 ounce shakes for 5 bucks. You won't regret it!

What a fun restaurant! Delicious ice cream, very clean & the staff are friendly and welcoming. The outside seating area is gorgeous. Parking is clear & easy too. We will be back!

Ok what place is closed for at least 20 min and still opens the window to serve you an ice cream soda and sundae. Just great business and did I mention how tasty the ice cream was?

Ice cream choices are great including all the hard ice cream selections. I Love the fact they have a ice cream flavor if the week all summer. The burgers and fries are out of this world and now you can also have pizza
