This place, “Van Leeuwen” is one of the finest ice cream places I ever ate at in my life. The service was very quick and easy and the people were very kind. Since it was so quick that if you were in a rush and you want to get ice cream, you can get to your destination on time. Since the sales person was so respectful and friendly, she gave us a discount. When we went there, the music and lighting were relaxing and it looked like a modern and old fashioned place. The ice cream tasted hard and soft at the same time if you let it in your mouth so it tasted fresh like flavored milk. It was a perfect temperature and it was also creamy and delicious. They gave us a generous sized scoop inside a cone. When you walk in it has a fresh sweet smell. If you were to have a troublesome day come to “Van Leeuwen” because it gives you a sugar boost you need. It’s the perfect mix of old fashion and modern and that is why I think you should try this place “Van Leeuwen” on Columbus Street!

A bit overpriced, but the ice cream is very tasteful, perfect balanced, not too sweet. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

I love Van Leeuwen ice cream. They have so many options, especially vegan options. They use the best ingredients to make exceptional desserts. You can buy their ice cream at various grocery stores, and even the “boring” flavors like chocolate chip cookie dough stand out.

Came home and looked at my second scoop of pistachios flavor and it wasn’t even enough for 2 bites. I saw the person struggle with the ice cream but I didn’t know if she just gave me whatever was left or it was too hard and she just gave up trying. Sometime vegan ice cream can get too hard. Very disappointed for 9.50

Honey comb Ice cream is fantastic! However I called 3 times just now and nobody is answering. It keeps saying voicemail is not set up.

Everytime I stop by there seems to be only one person taking orders while their coworkers seem to be in the back having a ball not helping at all creating such a long line leaving customers impatient and left unsatisfied.

Great tasty ice cream. Their vegan options are also good. I had the vegan Dark Chocolate Brownie, was bit harder than I'm used to but it tasted good. The regular non vegan Praline Butter was nice and creamy without being too sweet. The place can seat 6 customers. They also make milkshakes and sell ice cream in pints

I am concerned about the work conditions here. The staff are always so friendly and hardworking - but even during the busiest times there is only one employee working. There is another person in the back who I have seen several times NEVER come out - even when there is a very long line. The person working can’t work any faster. I’ve asked - they are not a manager. Just an employee. And when I asked why I never see them on the floor helping, both times I was told because that’s the way it is. This is unethical and unfair. I love your ice cream but won’t come back because of your unfair working conditions. It’s not possible for you not to know this is going on.

Tight space, slow line, ran out of a few items. Other than that it’s the perfect tiny ice cream shop. Great for gram and go with their pre packed flavors. They also have colorful seating if you’d like to stay and enjoy your ice cream with your family or friends. They also offer free first toppings on Tuesday if you are in the area during the week.

Excellent selection of flavors both vegan and non vegan. Comfortable seating. Great ambiance. Polite staff.

I stood in line for maybe ten minutes or so before I was able to order. Its popularity led to some mild frustration and I would've bailed had I not promised ice cream to a friend.

I mean it's good, though a bit pricey. With the wait, I don't think it's ideal.

The marionberry cheesecake is undoubtedly one of the richest ice creams I've ever tasted. It's like eating a frozen cheesecake.

Incredible ice cream served by friendly staff. They gave us 2 extra cones with our cup of sorbet and filled our water bottle with ice water. Go on topping Tuesday for your first topping for free.

The pistachio was flavourful and the strawberry crème is just as you’d want it. They used a really large cone for my 2 scoops so I guess I got lucky!

Several interesting rotating flavors are available that are mostly self explanatory, but I was unsure what planet earth was besides what I could see in the photos here. Flavors are rich and creamy. Waffle cones started leaking from the bottom within minutes and dripped everywhere so I recommend a bowl with it. Seating indoors and out

Van Leeuwen ice cream is way too rich and buttery for me. It’s never going to be my first choice in ice cream. Beyond that, the staff here is too young and disorganized and distracted by socializing with each other to run a storefront business smoothly on a busy night.

Gourmet ice-cream selection for everyone, they even have a vegan and lactose free menu! I enjoyed a vegan chocolate fudge sundae for 1 and it was the perfect sized portion!
