Western New York Immediate Care - Amherst reviews
27This is my third time here. It was busy but I was in and out in an hour and 10 minutes with the prescription in hand for a throat infection. Place is clean, everyone I dealt with was respectful. Free coffee and tea. I was hit with a 75$ co pay, thanks independent heath.
Clean facilities, very friendly and personable staff, not a long wait at all (and on thanksgiving too.) and adequate resources to diagnose anything on this level. I've been to urgent cares all over this country, and this is a great one folks!
I was desperately ill with pneumonia on Thanksgiving. There was no wait, staff was thorough & knowledgeable, besides being helpful re: Rx’s open on the holiday. I am grateful for their help & care.
I was having chest pain and shortness of breath. They took a chest xray and did a quick EKG and told me they could find nothing wrong with me, i explained that i still felt very short of breath and was told to visit the ER. $250 out of pocket down the drain.
Ive been here a few times. There is usually a long wait, but I have been handled with care and diagnosed on many occasions, able to get the help I needed.
Horrible wait, and rude staff! Do not recommend! Been here for 3 hours! Gave me an x-ray for no reason, and did not know what they were doing.
If i was given the option i would leave no stars in this review, This is by far the worst experience I have ever had regarding any form of healthcare. I came in with intense pain in my upper right abdomen. I was brought into a backroom and sat there for ten minutes before a nurse came in to take my blood pressure and ask a few questions. When she was finished, she asked if I wanted to give a urine sample and I was handed a cup and a robe. Upon completing the urine sample I stepped out of the bathroom to find that there was no one around to take my cup full of liquid waste, so I stood there clutching my liquid waste for a minute before a nurse gave me a disgusted look, so I asked her where I should be putting my urine, she looked confused and after a moment's awkward pause, another nurse jumped up from her chair and said she would be happy to take it, and then she made a joke about that being the first time she was happy to receive a cup full of a strangers urine. I then returned to my designated room, wondering if I should strip down and put on the robe that was provided for me. Thankfully I chose not to get naked because when the physician came in, I asked her if I should have stripped down. She laughed and said "oh wow no, you don't need to do that" which was quite embarrassing and confusing since after all I WAS handed a robe. She then asked a few questions and told me she would have to take a few blood samples. While I was waiting for my blood to drawn I overheard a few of the staff holding a conversation through the door.one woman was making fun of a patient who had come in worried he has a tumor. She was amused because there turned out to be nothing wrong with the guy. After my bloodwork was finished, I was given a diagnosis of "abdominal pain, acute, right upper quadrant" and was verbally informed that i would need either a ct scan or and ultrasound scan to look at my gallbladder. The physician told me she thinks im suffering from gallstones.i already knew about the pain I was experiencing, and i already knew i would need a scan, that was the entire reason for my visit. I hoped that I would be prescribed a ct or ultrasound scan to confirm that was the problem. Instead I was given a phone number to call to follow up with a surgeon. Before leaving immediate care i asked the lady at the front desk what i will be charged for the check up. She said she couldnt be certain of what i would be charged. When i asked why, she told me "not to worry about it because my insurance company would probably cover it" When I called the surgeons number provided by immediate care, I was told I would have to have another preliminary check up before I could get the scan.which I found weird considering I had just completed the preliminary check up via immediate care. Confused and in pain, I called immediate care to let then know they forgot to order the scan. They then informed me that "we don't do that here" what frustrates me is before I spent any money I told the staff why I was there and what I expected (an order for a ct scan) and now that my money is in the hands of immediate care, they inform me they dont do what i came there to have done.so now I have to go and spend more money to get the same check up I received at immediate care, at another place in order to get the scan that was recommended by immediate cares physician. I'm beyond feeling disappointed, i feel as though i have been cheated out of my hard earned money because I had the audacity to get sick and ask immediate care for help. Please if you value your money, your health or your time, don't bother visiting an immediate care facility.
