Go here if you want to be insulted by the employees. My sister booked a massage here and wasn't told she needed to call prior to showing up (due to covid) so she didn't. Apparently this miscommunication falls on her and it was her fault for another party not being able to start together. What a relaxing experience having everyone at the front desk talking about how they didn't know you were coming (to your scheduled appointment) and how another party can't start together while you are within earshot. Maybe in the future you can let people know to call ahead?

Salon is using extra preventative measures to keep the salon clean and safe. The students do an amazing job and very professional.

Gina is an excellent stylist and Nikki at the front desk is the best. All people who work here share in the quality and kindness shown by Holly.

I’ve been going to the Aveda School now regularly for 15 years. I’ve had my hair cut, colored, conditioned, manicure, pedicure, microdermabrasion, and facials. I’ve been very pleased with my services and overall experiences. Using Aveda color and products made my hair thick and healthy. I’m currently going to the student Gina who’s wonderful and a very talented colorist. All the students do a good job. I also want to compliment the instructors who are there to guide the students so there seldom are mistakes made. You also can not beat the prices which are so inexpensive!

Brittany Beech (student) gave me an awesome cut today - I got the works! Hair wash, cut and style! Hair turned out wonderful!

Have been coming for over a decade now, and love the Brown Aveda Institute! Nice space, and usually request an upcoming graduate so it doesn't take as much time. Friendly staff and must try their tea when you go - so good!

I've gotten my hair cut here several times, and it's been ok. Never exactly what I want, but it's decent. The girls are friendly, and so are the instructors. It's a great environment. However, I just went to get my hair lightened, and they completely ruined my hair. I used to have really soft hair, and now I can hardly run my fingers through it after brushing. My hair turned out nothing remotely close to the picture I showed them of what I wanted. I've been trying to grow my hair out, and now I'm going to have to cut it off. I'm really disappointed and probably will not be going back here, especially not ever to get my hair colored. I'll pay extra to have professionals do it.

Massage room is very cold in the winter so that's uncomfortable for being undressed.although the price is great. I have long hair that tangles easily so students always spend a great deal of time on my hair but they are learning so it's to be expected. I enjoy going when I want to be pampered a little and also check out their new products. I would definitely recommend going on a day off after scheduling an appointment and enjoy yourself! The tea in the waiting area is also very nice

I have been getting my hair cut and colored every 6 weeks at Brown Aveda for years. New student every few months, some are better than others but far more good than poor. I show a photo of what cut I want and mostly that's what I get. Excellent value.

My Hair did not come even close to what i asked for. Then my hair was damaged beyond. Young front desk girl was rude! Not sure if I will ever return to this facility!

The facial was awesome and professional.hair service not impressed.my hair was washed but didn't seem like enough water was used basically my hair was still dirty.and when my blowdry was done my hair was still slightly damp. I feel like instructors on the hair side are not really overseeing students well.for an aveda school I wasnt impressed.in the students defense they are new to this but the instructors should advise them better and keep them accountable.it seemed dirty and cords embarrassingly tangled at every station. I would not go for a hair service again.i will return again for a facial.

Excellent service. Students are well-versed in hospitality and provide exquisite care. Instructors ensure that students have the best techniques for a unique look every time. Highly recommended.

Service is always great but they need some detangler. I hate getting to the blow drying part, without detangler they take really long just to blow dry my hair. But overall my hair always looks good and feels soft.

I recently graduated from the advanced esthi program. The educators were very helpful and amazing! I love love Mary and Kara! They really care and it shows! Susie in the office also is amazing and really does try hard for all students!

I recently got by hair braided by Chrisy. She is so nice! She kept asking me if it was too tight, or if i needed anything. The place is clean, and not too expensive.i would DEFINETLY recommend going, and I will be going back!

Always a great place for a decently price cut. Everyone is very professional. Just have to be patient because the stylist are still students learning.

This school is very prejudice! They make it very warming and pleasant when meeting to get in but once you are in they make sure to let you know it’s two different levels for their students and the levels are designed by the color of your skin! I’m sorry to say but if you are Caucasian you are treated with a different set of rules everybody in high up levels are literally family and they are private so it’s no student services to complain to. In the intro they go over what they do not take and what won’t be acceptable but they showed in more than one occasion it depends what color you are before they make it a situation or not. Ex. Two white girls was arguing very loudly in the middle of a busy day our clients could over hear it as well one tell the other to come outside so she can beat her ass and the other ran screaming she felt threatened they said it was a “petty misunderstanding “ and no one got in trouble when the one who felt threatened went to push the fact she is not comfortable she was told to let it go or they would both be in trouble then one day alpha class had classroom two (white students) was texting one another during class with there iPads on the kickstand so everyone was able to read it (without them noticing) it was talking about me another student with straight A’s just passed my first mock state board with 87% and I came regularly only short 4% of being on deans list with that being said I am 100% Afrian American I addressed the two girls after class during a break in the break room (did not interrupt class) unlike them needless to say they played victim even though I didn’t shout I didn’t threaten anyone the school made it like I bullied them even though I was the one who was left to fell uncomfortable due to two of my fellow classmates being able to condemn me in so many ways other classmates spoke up for me also white and the administrator Susan (daughter of owners) told them by taking up for me no one will ever hire them the next day we went on a two week break for wellness week 1/4/2018 was the day we returned by 9: 15 am they had kicked me out of school due to a bogus accident that never took place (still have not been shown anything but they said that one of the girls who was talking about me in that text didn’t feel comfortable so I had to go where was the fairness in any of it I’m beyond discouraged due to the actions they took upon me they could of transferred me or anything if that was the case but to kick me out for talking to two fellow students about the facts on how it made me feel but no one else was even punished and now they holding my hours so I can’t use them saying I owe 7500 for non completion of the course are you kidding me when I wanted nothing more then to be able to complete my hours this school is very color based and not in a good way I pray that things get better but if you are a minority PLEASE find another school to attend cause Brown Aveda just want your money without you having their name especially if you are a black girl with a little sassiness I never meant to harm I helped and encouraged a lot of my fellow students they still reach out to me til this day and some even wrote statements for me to fight this school I’m still weighing my options but I cannot express enough caution towards this school also if you are reading this and you use to come to me at Brown Aveda I no longer go there I have had a couple of my old clients from school reach out to me asking me why are they booking me through Brown Aveda and when they get there they have another student well I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience but they terminated me and still letting you all think you can book with me instead of being honest they are being real sneaky about a lot just like they got me as withdrawn but no I was terminated when I asked the lady who sent me the bill she stated to me it was easier paperwork! WHAT? You have to be kidding me when I’m left in shabbles clearly they are not and never will be here for the students it’s a money game they are clearly winning -Antonese Jones
