Brown Aveda Institute Mentor reviews
22I wanted to talk to someone about how my mom's hair was done, but my phone calls wasn't returned. We eventually switched my mother to another salon.
As far as services go for clients phenomenal! But as for a student this place sucks! Which I personally feel this establishment fails to realize that the students keep the business a float, and that they’re customers as well. Tomorrow I will be considered an alumni of the advanced manicuring program and I must say I am more than happy to be leaving. When I first enrolled I was under the impression that Brown Aveda Mentor was like one of the top Beauty institutes in Ohio! So I was super excited to attend a school with such an accreditedable reputation! Let’s just say those thoughts and feelings were very short lived! After only being in my course for a month I realized that enrolling here was by far the worst decision I could have ever made! The curriculum was more so based on the “Aveda Way” opposed to state boards! The instructors were nice but they literally read power points word for word and that was considered to be lectures and demonstrations were only done once (some procedures not even demonstrated). Everyday I went to class I felt like I was going to job that I hated opposed to coming to school for something I was passionate about! Instead of taking vital free time to teach us or go over problem areas the administrator would rather much offer 1/2 off Nail services to clients that were already receiving hair services! It wasn’t really until to the last few weeks we were provided time to practice the procedures we were half taught and that was only because business for the nail department was slow! The only thing I can honestly say that I truly learned here was how to do a DAMN GOOD PEDICURE! Which SUCKS because pedicures aren’t even on the STATE EXAMINATION! Bottom line I wouldn’t recommend this school to any prospective students unless they plan on working for an Aveda salon afterwards! This place is a money hungry Beauty chop shop that works their student ragged! Enroll at your own risk! YOUR PAYING FOR THE NAME THATS IT THATS ALL!
