Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal reviews
30This can easily be an all day stop if you do all three museums and the movie. And it will be when they reopen other exhibits and the children's museum, some of which reopens July 1. Great for all ages.
A favorite place for my kids and I over the years and now with my 3 grandchildren. Been a huge fan of the children's museum since it started at Longworth hall when my kids were little. I love the scenes of Cincinnati over the years.
There is no way this once great place deserves the 4.6 stars it has as an overall rating. It's been under construction for over 3 years and has used Covid as an excuse to not open up anything interactive. I haven't renewed my family membership for almost a year, because the last 4 years have been terrible. Even with an all access membership the Movies and exhibits you see advertising for are extra. Take that into account along with more than half the place is closed down and you have to wonder who is writing these "supposed" glowing reviews?
Excellent museum with extremely friendly staff. I can't wait to go back when the rest of the exhibits are opened back up.
An amazing art deco building repurposed into several museums and the Amtrak still stops here. I was very impressed with the mini city. Good dino display. Would have liked a little more history of the area.
Due to the LightOhioBlue2021 light display and incredibly tone deaf message they are sending by standing behind the CPD during such a tenuous moment in history, I shall not be coming back again.
Cincinnati Museum Center is an amazing place. Not only does it have incredible special exhibits (we saw Guitars this past visit), but you can learn about natural history, science, and the exciting history of Cincinnati. There is also a wonderful children's museum for the kids. Truly an experience for everyone. Union Terminal is also one of the most beautiful buildings in the country. We love our city and our CMC!
A must see historic destination. If you are looking for a day trip destination then I would highly recommend. Besides the muesem center.they have kid friendly exhibits and an Omnimax theater. Also most the time they have some type of traveling exhibit that details a specific topic/subject area. Most recently I visited an exhibit about the history of chocolate. If you are a person that enjoys documentaries and/or history.you will love this place!
Everything was child oriented and if you didn't have small children there wasnt much to do. Also most of the exhibits were closed so we spent almost $30 to walk around a big room for 30 minutes. Wasnt really worth the money. I love museums and this one wasn't a favorite.
One of my favorite locations in Cincinnati. Beyond the experience of the attractions, the building and its history are quite amazing. And you can still board a train here - although it’s quite inconvenient and I’m not sure who would.
The architecture is as inspiring as the exhibits.
Also don’t miss the Omnimax. If you’re a local, pick up an Omnimax pass!
Ticket sales are terribly slow and so is the parking lot. Why can you not improve your system to make this an enjoyable experience? Had I known the unusual slowness of this museum on these two issues I would have built an extra hour into our time there. Nice exhibits, seriously soured on the experience by the poor management of these necessities.
I like the renovations but I don't like how special exhibits are not included in a pass. Would also like to have better organization in the place cause when it's busy the place is kinda of a cluster f***.
I love the Museum Center and have fond memories growing up there. I just recently visited during the busiest time of year. The mosiac murals were well-maintained and beautiful. The exhibits provided plenty of information as well as hands on learning opportunities. A couple of sections were closed while they are renovating. (Perhaps they could have lowered the ticket price slightly since parts were closed.). I think ticketing could have been run much more efficiently with the use of a few ticketing kiosks. The lines to pay for admission, parking, and membership were very long.
Love love love the look of the new place. BUT HEY ITS 2019.let me pre buy tickets your tickets/ my admission on my phone.then you simply send me e mail with validation and I show to attendant.done. NONE of this standing in huge long lines.think you've really missed the boat on this one.also your web page doesn't allow patrons to see available times of events until the museums open.wow does someone like got flip that switch when you open.again.automation.and what's with the new parking? I need to get a ticket to again stand in line to pay / get validated to pay? Your attendedbooths with a live person were more helpful. OVERALL to bad your technical upgrades didn't match your strucutual / facade upgrades. Maybe your still working out the bug on getting these areas corrected. I surely hope so.
Great for the kids. Highly recommend bringing a pack lunch or having a meal before hand due to overpriced food.
Haven't been in the museumb yet but the wait to get in is over 40 min. My family and I travel to multiple museums over the country and we never had to wait for more than 10 min to get into any museum. Been waiting here over 35 min and not half way through the line. And I have a reciprocal membership so I'm in the priority line. Crazy!
We went to see the trains.we have been going for more than 25 years wherever they were.we we're happy to see upgrades and really enjoyed our visit.will go again to see new IMAX
This is a fantastic place for children in the children’s museum. I got a yearly membership and it is going to get a great amount of usage as my daughter loves it so much. She’s 2 years old and loves mostly the balls and toys and water area. There is a lot of information as well about energy, animals, health and some craft sections. Sometimes it can be extremely crowded though which is fine but if your child gets overstimulated easily, it would be best to come on a weekday during school hours. Other areas of the museum are still being renovated as of December 2018, so besides main exhibits and the children’s area, it’s pretty bland right now.
A treasure! A wonderful gift from some talented and truly gifted people of Cincinnati both past and present! Don't waste opportunities to enrich your life!
My visit to the museum today was fantastic. It was good to see it partially opened. The Libby was beautiful and shined. Lines were looking, but as members we could go and enjoy, the trains, entry area of natural history (, more to open in spring) and riverboat area. It was good to see progress made.
