Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve reviews
30Nice interesting hike. Had a few turns that were not average but very doable. Water fall was flowing. Nice hike. We are elderly so not strenuous.
This place is absolutely breathtaking come the trees to the cliffs to all the beautiful nature around you this is a great place to disconnect from reality and relax with your life good reflection time
Great place for all ages. A must see these small waterfalls and caverns. It's free and very entertaining. Could spend one whole day in this area.
This is probably one of the most beautiful places in Ohio with upper rim trail and a gorge trail there's the best of both worlds. Water falls caves shear rock cliffs a must see for anyone wanting to enjoy a nice hike. Bathrooms are well maintained big parking area. Not pet friendly at this particular site. Because of high cliffs would not be a safe place to bring along our furry friends. Or to try and chase them if they got loose.
Went here for the first time this week and fell in love with this place. I took my 3 kids with me and after reading the reviews I decided to do the paved trail which they loved because I let them wear their flip flops It was a very easy walk and everywhere you look you're surrounded by tress and a creek runs along one side so you hear the water the whole time. This is for sure my new favorite spot in Hocking Hills Can't wait to do the 2 mile rim trail with my husband and see what it looks like from the top.
90% of this hike is paved and/or a wooden bridge, super accessible to all. Well all but dogs, sorry pets are not allowed. The last 10% is not paved and a little rocky but my almost 3 yr old neice was able to walk it without a ton of trouble. The waterfall at end is smaller in comparison to Old Mans cave however this is a beautiful hike and no where near as traveled as the other hikes in the area. This hike is also shaded the entire time too, so you stay nice and cool. There are also a few picnic tables near the trail head that are nicely shaded. Go off and enjoy this hike!
If you think that a nature preserve will not be challenging this place will change your kind. Awesome hike with great views
No Pets allowed in this one. It's a Preserve so they're trying keep it as native and natural as possible. Dog fecal matter could have seeds from some outside invasive area and possibly create a problem for the Preserve. It's a stunningly beautiful place. It starts at being wheelchair accessible for a good bit.then it continues off-road for more advanced hiking which terminates at a dead end waterfall! One of my favorites!
This might be the best park of Hocking Hills. It is not very busy compared to other areas. The main path is very easy and leads to a very nice waterfall. The rim trail is very rugged and has the trail pass quite close to cliff edges with amazing views.
Fun place to hike. Rim trail was exciting. Beautiful views! Had some challenges and cool cliffs to traverse
The lower trail starts off as a small habitat, but then this trails turns into something spectacular OHIO truly is the heart of it all! You "ROCK" OHIO
Nice short hike, mostly paved until the last section. We went after a dry spell, so very little water but still a beautiful place to see!
Very nice nature trail. Prepare to walk a minimum of 1/2 mile.
The restroom has no plumbing similar to that of a metropark. I would not recommend wearing sandles or bringing strollers.
A great place for a hike. The lower path is paved and comes to a lovely waterfall, but the upper path is where the real beauty is to be had, that is if you don't mind steps. Once you are past the steps you'll find yourself on a twisty turny path with overlooks to the vast valley below. The owl population seems to be high and as long as you are paying attention you are sure to see one every trip.
Conkle's Hollow was a surprisingly pretty find. There is a gorgeous walk around the rim of this beautiful locale. Picturesque views! I recommend late afternoon or early morning when the shadows add more drama to the views.
The best trail of all 7 trails at Hocking Hills. 2.5 miles for the rim trail. Each part of the trail is unique and mesmerizing. The view is incredible. The hike trail is moderate and not too bumpy. A lot of stairs though but the view from the top is worth it!
An incredible destination. 1/2 mile hike through the hollow or a 2+ mile hike around the upper level of the hollow. Not nearly as crowded as Old Man's Cave.
We took the trial along the top of the gorge. It was stunning. Some of those shear drops are insane.
Absolutely incredible views up on the rim trail and and very easy lower gorge trail that leads to a nice peaceful waterfall. It is very well maintained and is so peaceful. If it was closer I would visit on a regular basis.
There is a restroom, however, during our last hike there was no water from the sinks.
One of my favorite trails in Hocking hills, the gorge trail in the fall is my absolute favorite!
