I had a relatively small kitchen job close to three years ago. New granite countertops on existing base cabinets, new tile backsplash, a pantry built in place of the old wall oven, microwave/hood vent combo installed. Because mine was a comparatively small job ($7000, a lot of money to ME) I was fit in here and there, I can’t remember how long it ended up taking. Several things going wrong over the years have given me the impression of what an unimportant customer I did. Now, I decided to do some finish work on my own, but that shouldn’t include sloppily re-secured GFCIs following the tile install. How about that microwave—installed to close to the new gas range presumably to save work on re-doing to the outside and not thinking about how to factor it in with the new cabinet above it. Just not very thoughtful— now my microwave handle is melting and the lights have gone out due to heat, and large stock pots don’t fit. Handles get too hot. They raised the counter on the range side to match the height of the range, which makes it only LOOK correct, and this is all because I had a heightened tile floor that the front of the stove was sitting on. I would rather have been consulted about this, maybe had some flooring cut out and repaired, then have this odd height counter shimmed with 1x2. If I ever rip out this tile floor the counter will be way too high, and the range will be lowered to reveal bare cabinet next to it that they didn’t tile very far down. The two cabinets they built to look original have terrible looking hinge cuts and reused hardware, one piece of plywood has always had an ugly bend. Today my undermount sink is finally giving in and falling after simply being glued to the underside of the granite, rigged up with a wire support strap as if this would long term support the weight of dishes, water, a garbage disposal.just unreal how lazy. I thought I was paying less to have less work done by a high quality contractor. I thought I was being smart by paying more for a high quality contractor to do the small amount of work I could afford and what I got was practically handyman quality and that’s really disappointing.

Robert & Janet and the rest of the team at Elite have been absolutely wonderful! They just recently finished turning our old laundry into a cubby/mud room and relocating our laundry and making it a useful functional space. They also took an old barn beam and replaced our mantle with it. First of all, their craftsmanship and detail are superb. The quality of the construction of our lockers was impressive. You can see and tell that they are well built. They were able to create exactly what my wife had envisioned. From the color and texture of the wood to the way the drawers close, it came out even better than we envisioned. Secondly and maybe even more importantly, are the people at Elite. Their entire team of people were a pleasure to work with and have at our home. Our kids looked forward to seeing the guys every day and that helped make the experience so much more pleasant.

I truly can’t say enough great things about our remodeling experience with Elite. The value, the quality work, the service and the people; Elite has it all. Thank you. We will be looking forward to our next project.
