The worst hospital I’ve ever been to. Doctors and nurses are lazy and probably not even qualified. Any time I’ve ever come in because of an issue they have made things worse. They do things without consent and don’t even let you know till it’s too late

My father has been sent here due to rvr and pneumonia. Weve been calling for two days and it repeats a message for 15 minutes then hangs up. Weve only gotten someone to answer the phone twice. This is ridiculous, we can't be there and yet can not get any answers either. We don't even know if he is ok.

Avoid this place at all cost. This facility is incompetent and extremely dangerous. My mother went in for congestive heart failure and was treated for a headache. After they misdiagnosed her the cocktail of drugs they gave her almost killed her. Unless you absolutely have no other choice i beg you to take your family members to a different hospital.

I came in with severe bad pain they weighed me took my vitals touched my injured back once. Did not test anything. They let me in but rushed me out with zero care but a bill to boot. And still severe pain. I could barley walk and could not stand for more than 5 minutes. But they wrote it off as nothing. I came for help not to be ignored.

Good luck getting a hold of anyone at this hospital. Have called multiple times to get test results and prescription refills. Never got a return call. This is the only place I have ever been to get a procedure done that has not called with the results or returned any of my multiple phone calls.

Every time I have ever been there it has been a sad excuse for a hospital. And no one ever answers the phone when i call there. I don't believe they no what they are doing.would not send my worst enemy there.

I recently had hip replacement surgery here and it was not a bad experience at all, considering. The nurses we caring and professional and the surgeon was too. I was not treated like a number or piece of meat. This is the first time that I have only one light bruise from blood work and IV. I have been to 3 other hospitals in Columbus and Berger blows them away by far. Even the people cleaning the room everyday was nice and supportive. I would definitely recommend this Hospital to family and friends. My family and I are very thankful. Thank you all at Burger Hospital!

Worst experience I’ve had thus far at a hospital. I went into the emergency room on December 31st for a work-related head injury that was believed to be a concussion. When the doctor finally arrived in the room, I explained my symptoms and said that I believe I have a concussion. She kinda laughed it off and then performed a series of tests that were about 2 minutes. Simple procedures like push against her hands and the lot. She was in the room for maybe a total of 4 minutes. At the end, her response was “I don’t think you have a concussion” and then proceeded to say I need to do a follow-up at the Occupational Office near the Walmart. And that was it, the rest of the time was me waiting for an hour and a half. When I went to the follow-up appointment, the physician that I had actually spent time going over my symptoms and diagnosed a concussion and found that I had had neck spasms when it occurred which caused strained cervical vertebrae. In the document that the emergency room sent over, the doctor didn’t even note my other symptoms. The doctor didn’t list the blurred vision, neck pain, and nausea. They only listed “minor head injury” and sent me on my way. This is medical negligence if I’ve ever seen it. If I’m going to the emergency room for what I believe to be a concussion, then I think I deserve more than a “I don’t think you have a concussion” and a laugh as if I don’t know what I’m talking about. Especially if I were to pay for it (which gladly I’m not). That “care” is not worth the overpriced medical bill I would’ve received. This isn’t the first time I’ve received this kind of treatment. Went in another time for kidney related issues in September and the nurse that I had laughed at me when I told her I’m experiencing pain in my kidneys and told me that that’s not where they’re located as I’m holding the area on my abdomen that’s in front of the kidneys. Believe me when I say I know where the kidneys are located; excuse me for being in immense pain and not wanting to get up from the bed to show you directly where my kidneys are. But as it would turn out, I was right again (shocker). It was an infection that had spread to my kidneys through the urinary tract and had to have my kidneys flushed. Would strongly recommend not going here if you need emergency care.

Everytime I've went to this hospital the staff always seems irritated to do their job. I understand the medical field is complicated and stressful but these nurses and drs seem to have attitude problems. They spend maybe a total of 5 minutes with you to give you some type of rushed "diagnosis" and send you on your way. My brother came here tonight and a nurse irrigated his ear so rough it started to bleed and caused him even more intense pain to where my brother (a grown man), cried. When the doctor came into actually look into his ear after the nurse messed up, the Dr.was trying to ask him general questions about his pain/discomfort and the nurse kept speaking over him and answered the questions herself. This place is shady and needs to have some type of professional evaluation of the staff and overall running of the facility.

Medicare is OF NO VALUE, nor Part B, or even an auxiliary private insurance policy, unless an individual is “admitted” to the hospital and stays 3 nights. Being “observed” and forced to leave after 2 nights and not the magic 3 nights, rendered my mother ineligible to receive benefits from Medicare, Medicare Part B, and the private insurance policy she’s had in place since 1989!

Saturday, in my mother’s hospital room at Berger, I met with her physician, a nurse, her physical therapist and the patient care coordinator. All assured me she met Medicare’s criteria for release, despite saying she needed 24 hour care.

They metaphorically wrung their hands, and said they could do nothing. Even the physician could not/would not override the insurance company, they asserted.

Had I understood the result of my compliance, I would have refused to move my mother from the hospital, and welcomed the publicity it generated.

My mother is 95, and held a job her entire adult life, ironically, at Berger Hospital, and later, for Dr. Emily Lutz. I am incredulous that Berger Hospital has healthcare regulations physicians claim they can't override.

It is fallacy that Medicare will prevent seniors from needing to sell their homes in order to have end of life care.

Update # 4 Friday, August 2,2019
Tina X finally answered at the number Ohio Health suggested I call. She said she was unfamiliar with my review. "Corporate had not informed her. "

After my explanation, she said she knew nothing about medicare / observation / admittance to hospital. She would need guidance to respond.

Apparently she has not gotten the guidance necessary to contact me, now 3 business days later. If I could I would remove the one star rating.

I gave a 2 star for cleanliness. My visit was fine I was treated good. However I watched the nurse discharge one sick coughing patient and move a poor old man WITH OPEN WOUNDS to the same bed. Very sad to see. Every bed should be stripped and cleaned after each and every patient that comes and goes.

Nice hospital and staff. Amazing maternity ward. Even more amazing of a physical therapy program. ER can take a while only reason for 4 stars.

Dirty and completely unsanitary! Wait times are ridiculous. Even at slower times of the day/evening. Unprofessional and they need to be looked into big time. Their cleanliness alone is enough to be shut down. I now have TWO videos of uncleared blood and gauze on the floor from two different trips. I feel sorry for the staff because this place needs shut down asap

I hate this place with a passion it seems like everytime i go here the doctors do something wrong.i went once to see what was wrong with my bones because i couldn't move at all because i was in so much pain.they thought i was lying at first so they took a blood test and said that they were going to take a urine test but didn't.one hour later they came with the results saying i didn't have anything wrong and to get out.they LITERALLY SAID GET OUT.first off how do you check blood that fast and they didn't even check my urine either.so i actually went to a good hospital and found out that i had arthritis.but my experience aside its kinda strange that people die there a lot more often than other hospitals.heck so far my whole entire family up till now died in that hospital.well looks like i was born here and im going to die here cuz its the only hospital around.
