Szechwan Garden reviews
21They need to update their website, which says open for lunch til 2: 30. Drove there and door sign says open at 4: 30pm take out only, dine-in closed.
Clean environment.love the fried shrimp Every time I go the place is empty so quick service
Not sure who your hospitality hostess is, however, at 8: 10 p.m. On a Wednesday evening she was not only off-putting and unfriendly, but discouraging from ever trying this place again
Am new to here and only wanted to order something to go, but she was neither welcoming nor encouraging and was by far the coldest, most indifferent, and worst ambassador encountered since arriving here. - She made it clear that her only mission was to get out of the place as soon possible, the opposite of what is likely her job. - "I'm closing in a half hour, " was her lone response when greeting for what would have been a fifteen-minute $40 order.
There are dozens of this place within a couple miles of here who are likely equally food good-enough, but with more friendly and welcoming staff and atmosphere
This experience was the opposite of hospitality and what a sour person and experience she is, at least on first impression and encounter, which is most crucial for such a place. - Shall never try this forgettable plaza spot again and shall share this story of this experience should it ever come up in the future.
All American-Asian food is good. It's the people who make it special
But this - What an awful.
Best Chinese in Lakewood! It’s my go to! If you’re in need of Chinese in Lakewood… can’t go wrong.
Lo mein noodles are so sad. Barely any sauce, probably the most underwhelming lo mein noodles I’ve had.
I ordered delivery. When I grabbed my food, I went to my kitchen to check the bag and noticed I was missing 4 spring rolls. I contacted szechwan garden and the lady i talked to on the phone was very apologetic and I said I'm missing some of my order. I asked if she could send the delivery guy back out or refund my money on those items? She told me no there's nothing she can do. I was upset by the customer service I received. I've ordered from there for years and never had a issue. I'm so upset because my children really love their spring rolls and now I have to tell them a lie on why they were not delivered.
I got 4 wontons in my large wonton soup and 2 in the small. Incredible overpriced for the amount and lack of flavor
Szechwan Garden is my wife's and my favorite place to get Chinese takeout. I'm vegetarian. The Zen menu makes it extremely easy to order since EVERYTHING on the menu is vegetarian. I can't say I've seen this anywhere else. We frequently drive into Lakewood, passing many other Chinese restaurants, to get food from here. The food is extremely consistent, the portions are large, and the prices are reasonable. I love this place.
Lo mein noodles were overcooked, chicken was good, but overall it tasted like something was burnt in the pan. Also, it was just chicken, noodles, and green onions.
Our usual place was closed for a summer holiday, so we decided to give this place a go. When my friends brought back the food, that’s when we discovered we had gotten the worst Chinese food in all of Cleveland. I’ve never had rice so under seasoned- in fact- plain white rice has more taste. Truly underwhelming for such a highly rated place.
Unfortunately the food was beyond underwhelming. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor or seasoning, and the price was totally ridiculous compared to other local Chinese food places. I truly thought the worst part of my day was learning the Shawn Mendes concert was cancelled, but this food really sent me over the edge on a bad day.
Gotta be honest, this was a huge disappointment. Strangely unflavorful and yet too spicy with some bites. It’s very underwhelming considering the huge number of positive reviews?
The food is great here but they say they're open to 9: 30 on Saturday I got there at 9: 00 and they were already closed Monday they say they're open to 9: 00 I've been calling since 8: 30 and I can't get anybody on the phone
Amazing flavor and personalized to my taste every time no matter what dish I choose. And the Zen (vegan) dishes are tasty and delicous with a selection thats beyond any other restaurant I am aware off. Not to mention every vegetable seems like its picked off the vine right before its prepared and added to my meal.
Have been ordering food from here for a couple years and it has never disappointed myself or my fiance. The veggie fried noodles are the best I've ever had and the people who work there are always so friendly and kind. Love this place!
I usually don’t feel the need to write a poor review but it’s been more than one time now that I’ve had an unsatisfactory experience. The lady who answers the phone always seems annoyed and in person commented about how she was surprised I came to pick up my order. I told her that I waited the allotted amount of time that she gave in the phone and the business hours state 9pm as closing and it was 7: 30pm when I arrived. She proceeded to say that Google hadn’t updated the information about the hours and that sometimes they leave early and that day they had a technician coming in to fix something. I’m sorry but it’s not my problem if a worker wants to leave earlier than the given business times and if it’s that concerning they should say that when they give the pick up time. This is the last thing I wanted to hear after I’m getting off work and trying to get my dinner back home. Not only was the service poor but the food was horrible. I’ve always given rave reviews about this place and the food but there’s just no excuse. The fried wontons had no filling and tasted stale, the fried rice was clumped together and tasted old. It was beyond disappointing and it’s most likely the last time I’ll go there.
Lobby was full when I came in. I patiently waited to be attended to
Another male customer came in and the male employee looked at me and then to the male that came in after me, he took care of him first
I had to yell.out my order name to be taken care of. Rude employees
Have been going here on and off since moving to Lakewood about 5 years ago. We had previously dined there several times with friends as well.
Very good food at a reasonable price, always piping hot and customer service is unbeatable.
Fried rice is dried out and gross.sweet and sour chicken is something I have never seen before with a weird smell.no thanks.throwing over $20 worth of food out.
I loved this place for years. We had an order of over $100 for my office they provided the wrong food.the young man at the phone refused the mistake and we were a meal short. We also had 9 different orders for our office and they gave us 3 large rices to split and said they don't provide individual rice so i guess i was suppose to serve people with a spoon throughout my office building. Probably not the best idea during a pandemic
