Great people. Very friendly. They understand they have dropped the ball sometimes in the past and are working diligently to correct it.

Honestly hate uptown. Our latest incident left my roommate locked out of our apartment. They entered our apartment without notice and left a random bag of keys sitting on our floor and didn’t tell us what they were for. A few days later we got an email saying they were coming that day to change the locks. Me and my roommates had already left the apartment for the day and didn’t have the keys that were left. Less than 2 hours after getting the email the locks had been changed and we were unable to get into the apartment

My experience at Sky Harbor in Burlington has been outstanding. I had always rented houses in the past and never lived in an apartment community. I was apprehensive at best but was quickly relieved when I applied for a place here. The leasing staff was candid and honest answering my questions and concerns.
After the most stress free move of my life I noticed a couple minor issues that i thought needed to be addressed. I contacted management who promptly replied that maintenance would be by the next day to address the issue. When i got home from work the issue was not only resolved, but had also been replaced with a new appliance! My neighbors have all been very nice and courteous. I love how dog friendly my neighborhood is, with a well kept dog park and plenty of disposable dog waste-bag dispensers.
I really appreciate the management and maintenance staff for their prompt service and attention to my concerns. Also, this place really does feel like a community. Everything is always well kept and tended to. The staff obviously values open communication with e-mails and texts that keep me informed about the goings on in and around the neighborhood. Not to mention how promptly my concerns are addressed.
If you're looking for a relaxing, quiet, clean and PET friendly neighborhood, I highly recommend Sky Harbor apartments.

I have lived in a variety of places, and I have NEVER had a worse experience with a "landlord". They do not call back when they say they will, they do not fix things to the fullest, and serious issues are not made a high priority. I will never recommend Uptown to anyone in the area. I cannot wait until my lease is up.

Been living with Uptown Rentals in Clifton for 2 years in a row and it has been an overall positive experience. My building is clean, well maintained and almost all maintenance requests are dealt with within reasonable time.

The only downside I felt is with parking. They charge a frankly exorbitant annual parking fee for tenants to get a fixed parking spot. Given the fact that there are no security measures/ cameras etc. The property managers need to understand that if they charge these fees, the tenants expect a reasonable degree of security to their vehicles.
Also, I have seen way too many vehicles parked in my parking lot with either no parking badges or old ones. This makes me think if paying all that money is even required? Since they do nothing about the cars have have clearly not paid to park. Well, we do have towing contacts plastered all over the place, but hey - I don't have the time to stand around police and call towing on all the numerous vehicles parked in the lot.

Management is terrible. People work here are unprofessional. I lived in 65 W. People parked their cars on the drive way, literally blocked half of it. Sent few complaints to uptown, nothing happened. No response at all. Towing company's phone was always offline. Glad I moved out.

Absolutely love the property and the staff! Nothings perfect, but if there is a problem, they are quick to fix! Thanks Uptown!

4 separate times I have been told that I owe random amounts of money that do not exist and I have only lived here for a year. They can’t tell me what I owe it from, but they are telling me I have to pay it. They also told me they are not willing to waive any fees because the person who lived in the unit before me was late on all their payments and I am to blame.

I live in East Hyde Park at Tarpis Woods. It is amazing! Quiet neighborhood, woodsy, well built and I never hear my neighbors are a few of the benefits. It is near Oakley Square, Hyde Park Square and Mt Lookout restaurants and shopping. Because of the location, I can be anywhere in Cincinnati in less than 20 mins. I lived here from 2000 to 2008 and came back in 2016. Just love living here!

There are bedbugs in my apartment and absolutely have impact on my life. I contacted the office several times asking for treatments, but they didn’t do anything and always had excuses. No info was provided. I feel bad that such a big rental company being so unhelpful and unprofessional.

STAY AWAY FROM UPTOWN they are money hungry sharks who will provide you with horrible customer service. Their apartments are made out of nothing but cheap materials. They take so many shortcuts while building. Be careful signing a lease it is like a deal with the devil. Also shoutout to Carrie I hope you get fired lol u suck I’m taking my $$$ else where (;

I understand that people mostly write reviews when they have a terrible experience (myself included) but I was so pleased with my experience with Uptown Rentals, I needed to chime in here. All of my maintenance requests were handled quickly and thoroughly.
Their automated systems/website for paying rent were great, and I always found their team to be very responsive and helpful. I moved to Cincinnati from NYC and found this rental experience to be a significant step up from what I experience in the past. I highly recommend them!

Request maintenance one day received great service the next day. They are great! I called when I was moving in because I couldn’t find my parking lot and they helped me right away. So far they have offered me great service. Will continue to live in one of their apartments. Btw Paying online is free!

A bunch of money craving landlords that don't care about their tenants. Once you sign the lease and pay your parking pass, you are nothing more than a monthly check to them.

I second what most other reviewers have said. Avoid at all costs- they look great at first, but are lacking in basic care for their residents. One example I have: on move in day, I came back from work, and a car was parked in my reserved parking spot. I called the associated tow truck company, and they told me that Uptown had ordered that no one be towed during move in week. I was forced to pay for parking in another garage, and Uptown never reimbursed me. I can tell many other stories like this, ranging from being locked out to constant fire alarms. Also, don't trust any of the good reviews- they ask their employees to write them.

Uptown Rentals deserves a "1 star" at best. STUDENTS and PARENTS, save yourself the time. Uptown literally has a monopoly on the entire Clifton/UC area, so it is quite hard to find a place to live that is not owned by them. They have a wide variety of different buildings and advertise themselves very well, however, the employees are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered and if you ever have a problem, good luck trying to get it resolved. The first building that I lived in was beautiful, however, it was older and had some issues that needed addressed. Long story short, they blamed these issues on "it being an old building" and really didn't fix the problems. (One of the problems being the laundry area in the basement, where multiple people have slipped or fallen down because of the water essentially flooding the area.) I didn't mind because I truly liked the building and the neighborhood (I was in Ludlow.definitely recommend this area), but the next place I lived was a whole different story.

I just moved out of 4 East Charlton Street, and let me tell you, this is one of the most disgusting buildings that I have ever been in and by no means is a home. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! When my roommate and I moved in, there was a grocery list of problems and they basically told us to "get over it" and that they would get to us when they get to us, as move-in season is a busy time for them. (?) It took us 4 months to get some of our basic requests fixed, and the only reason stuff was addressed was because I expressed my concerns and threatened to go to the Better-Business Bureau and take it a step further. There is also a strict no-dog policy in many of their buildings and my neighbors above us had a loud, barking dog that Uptown continued to let them have (violating their own lease that they wrote themselves for tenants to sign).

We had countless amount of bugs (including a couple cockroaches) in our building and we even had a gas leak. On the security side, this building is located right by an alley-way that is extremely loud and sketchy. There have been items items thrown at windows and people constantly were outside talking. I was followed to my doorstep one evening and somebody that I knew was even followed in the alleyway. I am not even kidding when I tell you that I emailed our property manager, Carrie Horton (who no longer works there, thankfully), multiple times a week with new updates, incidents, concerns, etc.and every single time was some unacceptable excuse and I was continuously disregarded.

It got to the point where I had enough, and took it one step further again, emailing supervisors demanding that I leave and that I was not afraid to get legal authorities involved. Overall, I can go on and on about these people for hours. My point of this lengthy review is to inform students, parents and anyone else who is considering Uptown to be very mindful about this. They do have a lot of newer buildings that they literally treat like palaces (and charge way too much), but even those buildings aren't even that good of quality, so just ask a lot of questions, do not take mediocre answers or excuses from them and do your research. I hope that this review helps!

"Zero stars. Convenience fees for paying online, no grace period, no notifications on rent due. 10% is almost criminal in other states. The only positive thing I can say is that they left me a bag and bottle of water when I first moved in. Last month my landlord refused to leave his room during a rain shower. He had power so he didn't leave his room to help anyone during a blackout. It was pitch black, not even the emergency lights were on/worked (which is probably illegal). Residents were forced to go to the basement and play with the power panels. Washing machines are overpriced as they don't even provide hot water. One time I found the master key set of probably every uptown property on the ground in a shady neighborhood near UC. I was able to open my own door with it. I have only been here for 3 months. If the property wasn't a 5 minute walk to work/class I would have already abandoned this place. "

edit: 3 stars because I got a response. All I can say is that I did sign a contract. Out of state residence should brush up on rent laws (or lack thereof) in Ohio. I will say that 130E is at market price, my fridge was new, and I have seen cleaning crews. Residences should be notified of critical housing issues whether or not its UpTowns responsibility to fix it.

Lived in the 65 West property from 2016-2017. Very expensive - even living in a quad I was paying the highest rent I had over the previous 4 years. The location is good - McMillan and Calhoun St.are very close. Many residents at the complex had mail stolen, because any box larger than 3in x 4in would be placed on the ground outside the mailboxes, which happens to be right next to an entry gate. The grounds were kept fairly clean with cleanup crews walking around once a week - typically Mondays because after the weekend it'd be trashed. Maintenance response time wasn't fast or slow, but average so no complaints there. However, if they actually fix the issue you bring up or just tell you "it's been like that for a while, there are worse things" and leave it at that is another story.

The part that aggravated me the most was when it was coming close to the end of the school year, they encouraged residents to move out early so they could do routine cleaning (residents would be prorated their rent for how many days they move out from the end of the month). My roommates and I moved out 2 weeks early, and a month and a half later we get mail with checks and a chart explaining why we got the dollar amount we did. Uptown only prorated our rent for 10 days instead of 14 days,! We have been trying to explain our case about deserving another 4 days-worth of rent, but they keep putting us off and have now just resorted to not responding to emails. Additionally, they charged us for a dented window screen and missing ice trays - we never had ice trays and the screen was dented when we moved in! We even put the dented screen on our "move-in checklist" of items we saw wrong on move-in day and submitted to the main office, but that apparently is worthless. But hey, it's just our word vs theirs, so what can we do?

The 4 days of rent, screen, and ice trays add's up to roughly $100 that each of my roommates and I got ripped off. That's $400 they take from our apartment alone - and if they do this to just every other apartment in that complex alone, that adds up to roughly $20,000 they're cheating off the residents! Great for them, not so great for the students/residents living there.

If you do choose to live at 65 West, I would encourage you to get everything in writing, make copies, etc. They don't value your word so having documentation of events would be the most effective route for when something goes awry.

Very bad experience- trying to keep deposit and charge a months rent when I vacated the property with notice- thinking about taking class action- they are trying to impact my credit when I have proof of an electronic notice.
