Westside Veterinary Hospital, Toledo OH

We had a schedule c- section for our French bulldog at 9 am.when we pulled into the parking lot, my boyfriend went in at 8 am to let them know that she was in labor and pushing. As he came out, the puppy was half way out. Of course, we was freaking out and worried. Dr. A calmly and quickly got us to the back and successfully delivered her 1st girl naturally. He is absolutely amazing with making sure are beloved pets are taken care of and he is great at communicating with the customers. I will always recommend him to anyone needing a vet.

I have micro bullies and this is about the third vet clinic that I've tried. One didn't impress me at all. The next was good but they're very expensive. Westside is good and their prices are a lot more reasonable. I also like the fact that when the dog is having the C-section the doctor lets you in the room so that you can see what's going on. The staff is very competent and very friendly. I really feel comfortable with the doctor also. He answers questions and he explains things. I feel very comfortable recommending this veterinary clinic to anyone with an animal.

In my latest experience, dogs seem to get preference over cats. My cat lives indoors, so he gets very freaked out going to the vet. You’d think a sick cat in obvious distress would get some kind of priority — at the very least be seen in the order of arrival. Not so. Despite having an appointment, my yowling cat and I were left waiting 40 minutes while dogs that arrived after us and one dog “walk in” (no appointment) were seen by the vet ahead of my cat. After waiting 40 minutes, I decided I could no longer justify the stress my cat was experiencing (he’s 18 years old). We left without seeing the vet. It was a gamble, but I decided if the cat didn’t improve, I would take him to an emergency vet.

I don’t think I’ll be taking my cats back to Westside.

Dr A and his staff are the BEST! They're incredibly caring and knowledgeable, at each office. Visit, you feel like your pet matters to them. Them. They provide highest quality care, and give excellent advice. I wouldn't take my animals anyplace else.

My family and I have gone to Westside Veterinary hospital as long as I can remember. Dr. Albalakousy has been a fantastic veterinarian and I recommend that if you are looking for a new vet, check Dr. A out.

Dr. A is such a great vet! We love his care and attention to our dog! Our dog may feel anxious going, but we don't! Always recommending him to friends and family.

Went there for c section for my dog, very clean place and friendly staff! They made feel very comfortable and made my first time experience a good one! Dr. A is very knowledgeable and even showed me how to tube feed the pups before I left knowing it was my first litter … great place highly recommend

He has a temper. He is impatient with patients and their humans. My cat reacted badly to a needle and he lost his composure with his assistant and us. My dog, who has multiple mobility issues, was not well treated. He pulled her back leg out for no medical reason and she cried. She was sent away from our new vet because she is now terrified of caregivers, with instructions to return under sedation. I had a problem with a medication for my cat’s eye scratch the day I was leaving for vacation and he asked me if I was stupid when I came in for further instruction.

I trusted Dr. A, as I have been taking my dog there for 7 years. Dr. A aided in blinding my dog. I took her there 4 times recently for eye issues. He actually told me she had glaucoma but her eye was healing well and threw a multitude of eye drops at her, centifuse treatment and other unnecessary treatments to milk me for as much cash as possible. On the last time she went, he finally pulls out a microscope and tells me my dog is now completely blind and I can try taking her to a specialist in Michigan. Of course I said I would do whatever it takes! It’s sad that he waited 4 visits and 2 months to tell me that she needed emergency eye treatment with a specialist! He never even told me there was an issue with the left eye before this, so of course I was in shock and crying to where I could barely speak. Anyhow, I went to the specialist in Michigan to find out by a very professional ophthalmology vet at Blue Pearl Southfield, the problem the whole time was she had hypertension so bad that the vessels in her eyes had blood clotting that caused irreversible damage. If Dr. A had just taken a simple bp on her instead of just throwing a bunch on drops her way to see what sticks, she wouldn’t be blind right now. I trusted this vet with my baby girl who I would give anything for, despite not having much in wealth. He took thousands from me over the years, but at least a few years ago he still seemed to take time with and really care about the animals; now it seems money is his main priority.
I respected you and trusted you with my dog’s life, Dr. A, you really let us down. My Bailey already has Addison’s and now this blindness has taken so much from her. She’s anxious all the time. I can barely leave her side or go anywhere without her panicking. If she’s outside and she hears another dog or anything, she freaks out and sometimes runs into things. I have to carry a dog around that used to love being completely independent. You have no idea what pain your incompetence has caused us. I hope you will think more about your choices as you should of referred my pup to an eye specialist day 1, as it obviously was not in your scope of practice. Yes I lost a ton of money from you for tests and medicine that was worthless, but the worst was losing a piece of my best friend.

On Friday 8/19/22 Dr A performed emergency surgery that saved my best friend Louie's life. I am so grateful he is our vet. As their sign out front says "We treat your pet like family" Truly the best vet i have ever had.

Everyone is very pleasant there and kind to animals we (my mom and I) were treated like a person not a number very impressed with everything.

The office staff was friendly and inviting. I was addressed promptly upon entering the building. The veterinarian was nice, patient, and very informative.

The best place you could take your furry family! My dog needed emergency surgery and Dr A didn't hesitate to adjust his scheduale. The staff are all kind and helpful.
This places oozes with animal love!

Dr. A is perfect, everything a Vet should be and more - he's so kind, and caring, he is constantly explaining, teaching me about my 2 Standard Poodles as we come in for checkups and treatments. If I could, I'd have him as my own family physician!

By far the best Vet office within 500 miles (possible in the world). We had been through 7 offices until we found Dr. A and his wonderful staff. They have easily earned our loyalty.

I have nothing but good things to Say about Dr A and his staff. He first took my dog in after hours on a Saturday back in 2017 when she was attacked by another dog when she was under a year old he stitched her up and gave her medication and from that day on that’s where my Nova girl went. Back in October 2021 her health started decreasing she got diagnosed with IBD and a few other things Dr A and I tried everything we possibly could to help her and make her better, a lot of it was trial and error. The only thing that bought her more time was a steroid. This past Friday she started breathing weird and that following Saturday April 9 2022 I took her to Dr A and he discovered that there was fluid in her lungs. With her IBD not getting better and now the fluid in her lungs she was suffering, I told him it was time to which he agreed.she was only 5 years old and I lost my best friend that day. Nova was picky and only liked a select few people Sahara, Amanda and Dr A and I’m so glad that Sahara happened to be there that morning and assist with her euthanasia. I love all that they did for Nova. Dr A will not give up on an animal he will try his best to help them as much as possible. Thank you Dr A and staff for everything I appreciate you guys more than anything.

Excellent veterinary services. We rescued a very sick cat and they were able to advise us on how to nurse him back to health.

Dr. Albalakousy and the vet technicians at Westside have been providing excellent care for our family for years. They excel in caring for our dogs during good health and illness. Dr. A has been available to us during and after routine hours for illness and end of life care. The best vet care we have ever had. Special thanks to Dr. A, Amanda and Sahara.

Dr "A" and his staff are absolutely amazing. Dr A actually takes the time time to explain things to you in terms that you will understand. He is very patient asks a lot of questions and is extremely detail oriented. He will give you honest suggestions and recommendations and it won't cost you an arm and a leg! All the ladies who work here are friendly, understanding and very accommodating.
