Fred Meyer reviews
31Security here seem overly intimidating and uptight at this location. It’s uncomfortable sometimes. I have never stolen anything from this store (or ever), but I have always been told by employees at this location to keep my receipts because it’s apparently common for security to randomly stop you when you are trying to leave to ask for your receipt.
Great place to go if you want to feel like you’re constantly under surveillance for buying face wash. No joke they have a completely separate part of the store where you have to check out for items like sunscreen, face wash, and toothpaste for theft prevention. Mind you, on the other side of the store you can feasibly steal all the organic products you want I suppose since those aren’t under lock and key. Kroger should be ashamed of themselves for this.
Great service even under a bit if pressure from multiple patrons. Nothing but a gentleman and kindness exhibited. My order was perfectly handled from start to finish.
This review is for the Gateway Fred Meyer Store only because I love shopping at the 100 NW 20Th Pl Fred Meyer at which I shop whenever I am in NW Portland.
So, the Gateway Store has stocking (purchasing inventory) problems because they are always out of items and I do not trust their so called quality merchandise. I find most employees do not enjoy working at that store and the layout of the store is not customer friendly. I do acknowledge that the Gateway has a big problem with homeless/ druggies stealing hence they blocked off the access from the Max Platform and employ Police security officers who mostly depend on Customers to inform them of Transients stealing. This Store is old and tired looking which does not make a pleasant shopping experience plus the Manager does not seem to care too much about the store. I shop at this Store because I have no car and depend on Max so I do my major grocery shopping at Trader Joe's on 42nd Ave and at the NW Freddies when I am in that neighborhood. For people with cars there is a nice Fred Meyer at Wood Village Town Center. P. S.at least Fred Meyer is a little more reasonably priced than Albertsons/Safeway.
Was not busy at all. Loss prevention was very visibly looking for someone but not rude about it.
Yall pressed my mom because you thought she was stealing. She broke her glasses all ya said was sorry. They have NO RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY. I EVEN SAW THE SECURITY GUARD TRY TO RUN A MENTAL HEALTH MAN DOWN with the security car. One star for the one employee that I like in the store the elderly black lady she's really nice
I get that hard times made stealing a problem, but if I’m gonna get treated like a criminal because I threw away a receipt, then I’m gonna take my money somewhere else
Worst Fred Meyer in the City of Portland Hands Down! They have to be the dirtiest, most unorganized place with bad customer service having employees in the state by far. An abundance of Theft and humans that make you feel uncomfortable. If you want to steal GO Here is what some person said at the Max transit center, conveniently located nearby. So many unwanted non shoppers in the store they have to shut down the main and biggest entrance at dark every night. An they definitely have an employee check receipt of people of color way more frequent than different nationalities.
I don't believe in Fredmeyer anymore, as you all know ps5 and xbox everyone wants to buy it, I came here early every day, but the girl here always replied to me that today they don't have ps5 and xbox stock. After a few minutes did I see her pay a ps5 employee there? I bought a lot of electronics here and were enthusiastic and honest by the South staff. I'm not talking about the electronics sector, just talking about that young girl, that's bad and lies.
Your company is losing customers because of the security DEMANDING a receipt at the door. Won’t be back as this is one of the worst FM in Portland!
Eventhough the meat department/seafood department is inconsistant. They have the BEST selection. AND its the only place I get my meat (Ribeyes) from.
I wasn't happy on my recent visit because I bought a vacuum cleaner and got home to realize that the only thing in the box were the attachments. They weren't going to let me return it because they said there's nothing in the box to return, and I said that's exactly why I'm returning it, because I bought an empty box. Upon questioning a manager, finally, I was told that I had a display box & I should have been given the insides to it when I checked out. Well, I wasn't given the vacuum when I checked out, so after about twenty minutes, I got my refund.
FM has just about everything you need and great employees? I love using my Bottle Drop refund here with my bonus.so $20 becomes $24 refund!
Stopped here on a whim, and realized upon walking in that I must be in a bad area of Portland when I saw limited access to the clothing area and glass "walls" with limited-access, enter-only gates, in addition to clothing such as Levis being in locked up cases, and a podium monitoring security cameras at the entrance. It now makes sense why Fred Meyer closed their Rockwood store a while ago as well as the 82nd & Foster store recently.by the looks of things this one could be next.
Today I checked out with one of the cashiers in the clothing section, Allie, and she was extremely helpful and kind. I shop here frequently and the staff is always very friendly.
If you like being stopped at the door and asked to provide proof of purchase for all the goods you just bought then this is the place to go. However if being treated like a criminal is not what's on your list today, go somewhere else. Other Fred Meyers are fine.
Worst Fred Meyer I have been to. Homeless people hanging out, unhelpful staff and I urge you NOT to step foot in the bathroom!
I personally cannot stand the gateway store. Many of the employees are very rude. Not to mention the array of customers is quite strange.
Store management feels different. As overall the location feels and looks different than it used too. Reminding me of the southeast location. Trash, homeless, security, no care as the store is generally messy several beverage coolers in the checkstands leaks fluid atleast 3 of them. Solution? Just stuff some paper towels their everyday it’ll be alright seems to be the solution.
It was hard to find the Lundberg rice cakes. Also, it would be nice if they resumed stocking seat covers in the rest rooms.
