This location threw out an incredible amount of food instead of giving it to those in need. People are starving more than we have ever experienced, and yet Fred Meyer not only threw the food out, but then called the police on people trying to eith not go hungry themselves, or are trying to redistribute that food to those in need. There aren't even words to express the fockery. How about if we try and make the world a little less dystopian, instead of adding to the indifference and suffering?

I use to shop here in the past but over the weekend they let their true colors shine. While the world is in the midst of a global pandemic and people on our own homefront are starving, financially struggling, and without power. They refused to allow this food to people in need, instead they let their capitalistic mindset rule of care and love for the people by calling the police to guard their dumpster. Pathetic, I'll never step foot inside another Fred Meyer in my life and I recommend you don't either.

Fred Meyer threw out food and then called the police to prevent people from taking it (perfectly good food). This was an unnecessary and cruel decision by management at Hollywood Fred Meyer.

This place called police on hungry people needing food they were throwing away. Find another place to get your stuff. Times are tough and we need to push consequence culture.

Beware! Defend the Police, unless they guard the dumpster from poor people. Gotta love Portland.

I went into the store today and they had a big mentality challenged man screaming at Self Check out! A man was trying to stay with him but after 20 mins of shopping he was still there! The management was hiding in bakery not doing anything! There were no cops called? And eventually they got him outside only to scare people coming and going.this management is awful! As a vendor for the store it’s a safety issue. I have been in retail for 31 years as a manager and never seen a sadder situation! As a Gotham Brands vendor never walking in there again

Look up the story for yourself. This store threw out several dumpsters full of perfectly good food during the height of the pandemic. They preemptively called police to guard the dumpsters so desperate people couldn't get the food they needed to survive. Look it up decide for yourself, but for me I could never support a business that acts this way.

How could you throw away food and then call the cops to keep people from getting it out of a dumpster?

Fred Meyers has fired employees who informed the public the store was throwing away food instead of donating to food bank. This store needs to boycotted. They are a blight to this city.

I’ve stopped coming here because the wait times are as bad as Walmart. Checkers take their time to get you out. I will drive to the new seasons down the block instead. Better service better quality. If you have all the time in the world.go here. Otherwise.

Great first stop for anyone who is outfitting an apartment or dorm room. Soup To Nuts! Yes groceries of course, but also a very extensive furniture section and a garden center and automotive and hardware and toys and and and. My only complaint is that they tore out the Peet's Coffee, so now if you want coffee while you're shopping you have to go out of the store and over to the Starbucks. This is annoying in the middle of a huge bout out of apartment shopping.

In the midst of a big remodeling project but everything is still accessible, good product selection and a great produce section

It took forever to get 2 keys made and go through checkout. 6 self checkout machines and the line just wasn't moving. One employee in line commented that it's going to take all of her 10 minute break just to pay for her chips and soda. Only one employee on the floor for the entire very busy store.
It really messed with my schedule for a simple task to take so long.

They are currently remodeling, so they didn't have rotisserie chicken, hot foods, etc, which is really what I went for. Also could not find beef jerky in 2 separate visits.
Store is otherwise very nice and clean. Very friendly cashiers. Will be an excellent place to shop when they are done remodeling.

What a great customer experience I had at the Freddy's off Broadway in Hollywood neighborhood in Portland! They didn't have what was in their ad so they gave me another item for the special price. Wow!

I gave it 3 star because there was no one at bakery section and it took about 6 min for someone to get there. I order French macaroon and they gave me regular macroon. The lady didn't seem nice either. I really enjoy cashier and good service he provided.

Went in to get a bridal bouquet after a complete failure at a local florist. Freddie's actually had a much larger selection at the Sullivan Gulch store than the local florist on Broadway. I got exactly what I needed for 1/2 the price.

We had merchandise held for us from another store, at a special price. All staff and management were extremely polite and helpful. Shout out to Roy, Manager from the St. Johns store, for calling ahead and arranging everything for us.

Very busy. Not my neighborhood, but I found it difficult to find the isles I was looking for because of the store layout.
