The doctors and vet technicians at Mt. Scott Animal Clinic went above and beyond for me and my cat last weekend. Firstly, their park-and-call system for COVID times is safe, efficient and extremely well-run. Secondly, every time I've brought my cat there I feel very well taken care of - I tend to ask a lot of questions as I want to be as informed as I can be about my pet's care, and I so appreciate the time they take to answer all of them, no questions too silly for them to answer thoughtfully and kindly. And lastly, my husband and I potentially have an international trip ahead of us for school, and Brenda Carlson kindly stayed on the phone with me for a significant amount of time answering my questions and even researching solutions! She just sent me an email this morning with the additional information she promised to follow up with. This is a team that truly cares about their patients and who have gone above and beyond to assist in any way they can. THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart, for all your tremendous care last weekend.

I can’t say enough good things about our first visit to MSAC. The veterinary assistant was friendly and thorough. The veterinarian was so nice and explained everything in a way that I could understand. The care they gave my cat was gentle, thorough and just what he needed. I have a cat that hates being touched below the waist and I can barely comb him without bites and scratches; they got the work done quickly and compassionately, and put any fears I had to rest about having him examined. I will definitely be taking him back for regular check ups and urgent visits. Thank you Mt. Scott Animal Clinic!

My dog has been having severe allergy problems and the vet (Dr. C) has taken time to find and diagnose the problem. Our dog is finally on the road to being back to normal and we are very thankful. I was very impressed with the time the vet took to explain the situation to me via email as well. Very helpful and sincere advice was given. Good people and great work!

This is the 1st clinic I have completely trusted with my dog who has had unfortunately bad experiences with other Vets due to her breed and being nervous. They are ALWAYS very honest with me with prices that actually make sense. I trust them with all 3 of my dogs and am not stressed out about care when they are there. Thank you for giving me faith in Vets again. <3 Quinn, Andromeda, & Trooper thank you as well!

I've been going here for years and they are by far the best vet we have used in the Portland area.

I have brought my pup here for only 3 years, however I've experienced such compassion and empathy, its like she had known them for her 13 years.
I want to specifically say THANK YOU to Erik, he was so nice and caring. I had to make the hard decision of letting my pup go, to relieve her pain and suffering and Erik was there to assure me, that my decision was a good one, for my Puppa dog. He cried with me and although we could not physically touch, I FELT his compassion, like a strong hug.
Thank you Mt. Scott animal clinic, I will return one day, once my heart is not so broken.

My family and I have been going to Mt Scott starting in the late eighties- early nineties The owners and staff may have changed hands couple times yet The quality of care has not changed at all still superb. We have had nothing but awesome service the staff never have let us down. Absolutely professional, compassionate, humane, Understanding, generous As well as Knowledgeable
We've never been disappointed
Our pets are Part of the family they are our kids (furry kids) we would not let our human children or loved ones get substandard care so we absolutely would never let our furry babies get substandard care
Prices are reasonable

The medical care seems adequate, but it is hard to maintain quality care when there is poor communication. They repeatedly drop the ball on communicating vital information to the pet owner. On multiple separate occasions we have been told that the vet/clinic knew about important health information for a long time and completely failed to mention it. Then they would say, “oh I don’t know how you didn’t know, it’s in the chart. ” One of our pups had a fractured tooth for a year and a half before they said anything. By then “I’m sure she’s no longer in pain, but we should pull it before it becomes infected” was the communication we received. We are really good about keeping up on vet appointments too, so they knew about this tooth fracture three visits before we were ever notified.

At previous vet clinics I have been able to actually speak with the vet and ask questions. Here, this is not often the case. Instead you speak with front office staff where it always seems like it’s their first day on the job. We really wanted to love this place based on reviews we read, but it’s not worth it. It’s frustrating to have a pet on daily medication and to go and refill it, only to have them say they won’t refill without an exam and another full panel. While we can appreciate being cautious and assessing organ function and animal health, it’s not hard to notify the pet owner of this ahead of time, rather than caught off guard with another, “well it’s in the pet chart” answer. If it’s in the chart the owner should know about it!

If a clinic doesn’t have time for the vet to meet with the owner and are leaving the communication up to front office staff, put the information all in the written discharge paperwork for the owner to read themselves or have fully trained front office staff.

Good with my old chihuahua dog. Eric is a great tech and cuts her nails. FYI tech visits don't have any office visit fees

They were really nice, but using charisma to make up for being late only goes so far. I have been here 3 times and they were only remotely on time once. The first time it took them 45 minutes past the appointment time to even come out and have us fill out paperwork. Every other time it's about 15 minutes past my appointment time and I usually show up 10 minutes early so im waiting almost a half hour in a hot car before the even grab my furry friends. Edit: So I am sitting in my car at 7: 56 for a 8am appointment. I've called twice and no answer for check in. I have noticed that all the employees have pulled up are are just now arriving to work at the same time my appointment is. I don't know if cutting scheduling this close to appointments yields timeliness. I mean just schedule my appointment at 8: 15 so I don't have to wait around. Sheesh.

I know they're good because my kitten doesn't freak out on her way to the vet! No contact visits are strange, but this clinic does a great job of keeping patients and clients safe. It is more expensive than I was anticipating, but that shouldn't be surprising. One critique would be being very clear about what treatments and tests you're okay with. My kitten kept being dewormed even though she'd been dewormed prior to visiting the clinic. Then they kept doing it until I brought a fecal sample and paid for a test that I knew she didn't need. I get that it's for her safety, but I did say I didn't want or need it.

Dr Eddy is the best vet I've had in many, many years. She is great at diagnosing and treating. What I like most is her ability to clearly explain, talk to me and work with me to keep my pets healthy.

Waited over a week during fires and smoke for an appointment. 2.5 hours before appointment they canceled because of air quality. Is the air quality worst 4 min down the road? Meanwhile the condition of our pet is getting severe. The next appointment was 5 days away (will the air quality be any different?) so we will have to take to emergency vet.

Rude and cought them lying to me the last I spoke to them. And that was the last time I spoke to them. Took my pet elsewhere.

Mt. Scott has taken care of all 4 of our dogs since we moved to Portland. We have some very anxious pups and they have worked with us to make the process as stress-free as possible for everyone. With COVID, they have a good system to minimize exposure for everyone. We're big fans.

I love this vet so much! Our cat has received amazing care. She is an older lady and Dr. Korf has made sure that she is thriving in her old age. Some clinics will take advantage of your love for your animal and push unnecessary procedures and diagnostics. Not at Mt. Scott! They are balanced, affordable and in it for the love of animals!

Sad but when the owner retired they have steadily declined. Even prior to covid there were long delays in waiting room to start. First bad experience was when the vet tech entered the room with the wrong patient chart and began rambling on about a completely different patient with the same name. I let her go on incredulous they could make this mistake. What if they took her in the back and medicated her for some other patients needs! Dangerous!
I finally corrected her that she had the wrong chart Never even identified me by name when entering the room which would have not matched the chart name. Incompetence. I pressed on with them for a couple more times during covid. When the tech came to my vehicle during my first covid visit they asked again about another patient, not my pups and had to be corrected. UNREAL! Same mistake! Since I was pressed to get the vacs done I followed thru.unhappy. When I returned for the booster they once again mis identified my pets at the vehicle as well as taking 3 phone calls while I sat in the parking lot. During the 3 calls they said " i will check with them in the back". On two of the calls they just hung up the phone. 10 to 15 minutes bwtween each call while i sat waiting. GROSS INCOMPETENCE. Maybe ask the front office lead to get some procedures in place to better conmunucate with the techs. Cant risk they hurt my pets. GOODBYE.
Never even called ne as to why Ileft tge appt unfinished. Thats how much they give a darn. ZERO.

First visit for my kitties was tough with the virus restrictions in place but the doc spent a ton of time on the phone with me and answered all my questions and was very patient. Everyone i interacted with was nice and caring.
