After being a customer of Mt Scott vet for almost 7 years, with cats and dogs, today I cancelled all upcoming appointments. I really liked the old owner Dr Conradi. The new management is predatory and only cares about money. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, yet things just got worse instead of better. For almost a year now, my husband and I have been wondering why the vet has started to nickel and dime us. One medication was 300% higher than what my husband found online. We assumed it's difficult for all vet offices now and I'm willing to pay for my pets health and good vet relationship. Then care of my animals deteriorated and the vet became combative when I tried to advocate for my pets.

First, poor vet care. I never received the results for one test until I inquired a week later. I just had them attempt to give my kitten a double treatment (2 doses in one month) for dewormer today. A week ago I was told the Leukemia vaccine wasn't necessary for indoor cats. Today I was given a lecture about the need for the vaccine now and not at the age of six months like was previously done for my other cat. Inconsistent communication and shifting values.

Second, combative attitude. Dr Kimball will use condescending lectures, veiled threats and guilt if you don't agree to the multiple charges. I own ragdolls and a lab-mix rescue dog. Ragdolls develop slower than other cats. Because of this, I was instructed by the breeder to wait on one of the vaccines until they're slightly older. I also read up on their development and found the breeder's recommendations to be accurate. Dr Kimball told me the things I knew about Ragdolls were wrong and she didn't know where I got those ideas from, then she made veiled threats about Oregon Law and finished with a speech about the coming earthquake and that's why I need to agree with her.

Dude, all I wanted to do was wait two more months before giving my kitten the vaccination. I support vaccinations, I'm a scientist for goodness sakes.

Bottom line, care of the animal is not the priority here anymore. It's money. Do yourself, and your pets, a favor and go to another vet who's empathetic and not of questionable motives.

Lovely staff and incredibly trustworthy doctors. Went with our last dog and just recently starting here with our new puppy. Nothing but love and good communication. Which is even more important during all of the quarantine restrictions. I trust the staff and doctors to do what is best for our pup even when we cannot be inside to participate in his visits.
