Children's Museum of Pittsburgh

It can get busy at peak times but it's not to be missed. There's something for every kid here. My daughter loves the art studio and my son loves the maker space. Staff are always helpful and involved.

Always a good time here. Be sure to look at their field trip census online before going, it helps to get a day that is less crowded or to get there right when they open to beat the crowds.

The Children's Museum is a great place to encourage your child's creativity and get some of the ya-ya's out, especially on a rainy day. A membership is well worth it as it will get an entire household in for free on every visit and will pay for itself in a couple of visits.

Solid option for a long-term membership. There's an entire section for rotating exhibits and the permanent ones have lots of layers kids can discover as they grow. I've been to a few others around the country and Pgh is by far the biggest and best thought out. We've been members for three years and actually let it lapse recently. Within a month we had signed back up.) Bonus: you can pair it with the Aviary.

My toddler really enjoyed going here today. I wished the museum opened earlier on the weekends such as 8 am rather than 10 am. We would more likely get a membership if they were opened earlier. The weekends are so busy and kids get run over by strollers sometimes on the weekends. We work during the week so its rare we can come during the week. Toddlers wake up their parents on weekends at 6 am anyway. I know other parents who work during the week would also like earlier hours, too.
