I'll start off by saying that I work for a large real estate team in Chester County and Eldredge was our trusted septic company. After my personal experience with them, I will never recommend them to another client again. Long story short, my septic alarm went off, I called Eldredge, they sent someone out and installed a new pump. The only pricing that was ever discussed with me was the installers verbal quote. A week later, my alarm went off again. I called Eldredge and they sent someone out on a Saturday and again the following Tuesday. Eldredge tried to charge me $425 in service fees for the follow-up visits which did not fix/address a new/existing issue. They were basically charging me $425 to tell me to have an electrician come out an test my newly installed pump. I had also not received my invoice from the installation. After asking for my invoice several times, the service manager finally sent it to me and it was significantly higher than what I was originally quoted. After going back and forth via email, I asked Eldredge to adjust the invoice for my installation and send me an invoice stating that there was no charge for the 2 visits because no fees or pricing were disclosed to or discussed with me via phone or email or in person except for the installers original quote. It took me reporting Eldredge to the BBB before they finally responded to me after ignoring me for a week. Morale of the story: ASK ABOUT COSTS AND FEES because Eldredge's employees will not volunteer any info and they'll try to take advantage of customers!

I’ll start off by saying that it started out great. They were very friendly and have been very friendly the whole time. We have used their service for the past 7 years now almost 8. They would inspect the tank as usual and would have us flush to ensure the outlet is functioning properly. When we moved out of the house and our renters took over nearly 3 years ago, they continued to do this. The house uses a holding tank that was scheduled to be pumped every 75 days until recently it dropped to 60 days. Every time it rained, the tank filled with water and the technician never mentioned anything. It’s full of rain water again and we had it inspected by someone other than Eldredge and the riser is disconnected from the tank allowing water to enter the tank every time it rains. Steve Eldredge called me earlier and asked me what the issue was and I apologize that I was quite irritated with him. He kept deflecting and saying it could be the number of occupants changed (which it hasn’t) or a kid keeps flushing the one toilet that the holding tank handles. To fill this tank in 3.5 weeks they would have to flush nearly 40 times per day (nearly impossible). He refused to accept that the riser not being connected to the tank properly was an issue and that it allows rain water to enter the tank which should have been notated during “inspection” and repaired clearly at our expense. He said that this issue wouldn’t ever be mentioned to the homeowner or notated unless they see water pouring in which they never pumped it when it was raining so it would have never been brought to our attention. They were clearly more interested in getting my $200 every time they pump rather than paying attention to notice it was full of water the past few times and there was a gap at the riser that could let water in. He was polite while deflecting but he only covered for his employees rather than holding them accountable for failing to inspect properly and also covered his own tail for his failed inspection process. It’s so sad that they were great for so long and we had a great relationship with everyone we talked to, but now it’s done and we switched to Brandywine Septic Services (owned by friends of the family) who openly said that yes this riser is a major issue that is allowing water to enter the tank and needs to be fixed. Steve Eldredge, I hope that you improve your inspection process and hold your employees accountable. I also hope this doesn’t or hasn’t been happening to other customers that are getting ripped off because of failed practices.

We’re getting ready to sell our home and I wanted to make sure the septic system was in good working order before selling. Eldredge came out to inspect our system and found that it was working well, but needed a few repairs to ensure it continued to work properly. Because of the layout of our system the inspector initially warned me that it may take two days of labor to repair. I was very worried this would quickly become an expensive project. Thankfully, the two people they sent to work on our system really knew what they were doing. Instead of two days, they updated everything in just 4 hours! This saved us a ton of money. Couldn’t be happier! I definitely recommend, I found the company to be honest and ethical in their business practices.

Request for the service was returned back very quick and they took some time to explain me the process and service expectations. They offered first available time that was only few days away. They gave me quick estimate and it was spot on with what I paid. Technician (Mitch) was great - looked at my new septic setup system - explained me how it works, told me what does what.and all that while taking a look at all wells and providing the actual cleaning service. Service was provided at the estimated time window and Mitch was on his way to next customer in 35minutes. Great experience, very easy booking, average pricing and nice crew.

I had two issues at my kennel business. Talked with 2 septic companies about resolving the issues. Both were confused at what to do and pretty much just dragged me along. Contacted Eldredge and they came out in a timely manner, figured out the issues immediately, and were reasonably priced. Very pleased with the overall experience and will reach out to them again for my septic needs.

I have been using Eldredge septic sevices for almost 10 years. The owner has been very patient and helpful with explaining all questions I have about my system. The service is prompt and professional. I would recommend Eldredge services to anyone with a septic system or those who have just moved in with a septic system that want to understand how it all works.

We had an ongoing problem with our septic field in that the effluent was not reaching the entire absorption area. It was a series piping and distribution arrangement that was installed in 1983. While the field was sufficient to handle the load from the two of us (our children are now in their 40s), we had clear evidence that the field was not capable of handling the load of a larger family. We would not be able to sell the property unless this problem was corrected.

One expert recommended that we investigate whether some of the piping was crushed during the 1983 installation and backfilling. I did not know where to begin or what needed to be done.

I called Eldredge Septic Services because of their strong local reputation. They made recommendations and provided a clear technical and cost proposal, and their pricing was reasonable. They handled all of the governmental permitting, paperwork and inspection requirements.

Eldredge changed the distribution system from a series arrangement to a parallel distribution arrangement. They ran a camera through the piping to verify that there was no crushing, or blockages, or obstructions. They exposed all the critical components and corrected a few problems that they found, which existed and were hidden for years without our knowledge.

I am no septic expert, but I am an engineer. From what I saw while they were doing the work, Eldredge had the right equipment, personnel and expertise for the job. Their new distribution equipment and piping appears to be installed expertly in all respects. I also believe that their solution was exactly what was needed.

A large portion of the lawn had to be dug up for this work. Eldredge restored the lawn by regrading and reseeding.

I rate Eldredge 5 stars for its septic work and 4 stars for the lawn restoration. The 4 stars are because they did not roll or tamp the reseeded area and there may be some settling because of this!?

Regardless, I would never go to anyone else other than Eldredge for future septic work. I highly recommend Eldredge for septic work within their entire service area.

I manage about $25 million dollars worth of property and use Eldredge for all my septic system issues. I would use no one else. They are expert in their field and I trust their findings and recommendations implicitly. They are the acknowledged leader in their field in southeastern PA.

Eldredge Septic always does a great job. Professional & competitive pricing. This is a family owned business that really provides great service. As a real estate professional, I work with a lot of different service providers and I can say that Eldredge is the best at Septic!

Eldredge has been servicing our home since the 1980's; first the septic system, and now the sewer line. Always prompt, thorough and effective.

As much as one can love a Septic company, I love Eldredge~ I have done multiple projects with them- Kurt Eldredge has stood in muck knee deep with me to explain how a system should be repaired or replaced. Their prices are reasonable and the service is excellent.

For the love of god do not use these incompetent idiots. I personally have had a bad experience, along with others that I know. They come out to inspect septic systems and completely miss parts, including drain fields and tanks. As a buyer, I was completely taken back when I sold my house and found out from the buyers inspector that I had a whole fairly new system installed that Eldredge failed to find. They did nothing to rectify the issue whatsoever. They stated that they were not wrong, until the septic permits from the county showed that the newer system was there. OOPS!

As a realtor, I often need vendors on short notice. Eldridge Septic is one that, after the first use, I immediately put on my vendor list (Homekeepr). They were prompt, polite, qualified experts that got the job done correctly after others had failed. I am very impressed with this company!
